Thank you all for reading!
Penny got up and walked over to her computer. The laptop was already opened so all she had to do was press, accept. “Hello, everyone! We are finishing breakfast so let us move to the livingroom and we can get started.” Picking up her computer, she walked into another room. That must have been our cue that we were done because Ben put his fork down and stood up, leaving his half eaten pancake. Jet and I followed. My nerves started to fly as walked into the room. Penny much have had to rearrange the livingroom because it wasn’t set up to maximize the space but make it so the video could see everyone. Penny had just placed the computer on the coffee table, making us move to the couch directly in front of it. Jet and I sat in the middle of the table while Ben and Penny stood behind us. “I got this urgent message that we needed to have a meeting. I must say, I am surprised to hear from you.” There were five women and one man that I could see. Ages ranged from early 20s to late 80s. After
“Then why don’t you?” I asked, slightly annoyed. I did not just put myself out there for her to have an easier option. “It isn’t always correct. Visions are tricky. They change constantly, based on what you decide. Today, you might decide to get the chocolate ice cream and that would give you heart burn that will last call day or you could stay with yogurt and have a great day. We make choices every day. Even the minor details are significant.” Penny shrugged. “So, giving them a potential false vision would be counterproductive.” I clarified. “Correct. It will be a last resort, but don’t minimize the need for personal conversations.” “After this, you will have amazing contacts. Moving forward, you will be unstoppable.” Ben said. I was unstoppable now, but I knew what he meant. Only Adron had the power to stop or kill me, but after he is dead, I would have gained allies. Allies that will help keep the world in a consistent healthy co-existence. “So, when is the meeting?” Penny a
I think Jet felt danger too. “Nope, I’m awake!” He yelled as he quickly got back in the car. I hadn’t even closed the door when he slammed on the gas. Swerving a little, he finally straightened the car out. Looking back, there were at least a hundred vamloves running towards us. “Oh shit, faster!” I yelled. Jet looked in the review mirror. His eyes widened when he realized we were being followed. “Any help would be great.” Jet said in a strained voice. My mind was racing. I could throw fire balls at all of them. Not enough time to build a wall or something like that. Rain wasn’t going to stop them. Maybe I could blow them back? Using my mind, I waved my hands trying to make more of a tornado like of situation. The car started shaking as Jet had both hands white knuckling it. “IVORY!” he had a strained voice. “Just keep driving!” I yelled. Dark clouds started forming as the vamolves got closer and closer. A few of them leaped, digging into the metal. It sent chills down my spine
“What’s wrong?” I asked Jet again as he ran to his closet. “Dad has some information on who is behind everything.” Without even thinking, I jumped out of bed to go. No way in hell was he leaving me behind. “I’m coming.” “You sure?” Jet asked, giving me a pointed look. “Yes. I want to know who has been trying to screw us over.” “Let me know if you need to rest or anything.” Jet firmly stated as we walked out of the bedroom. I was a little annoyed by this protective behavior but my baby moved, telling me he wasn’t only worried about me, but his child as well. “Okay.” I relented as I took his hand. We walked briskly down the hall and to his office. My mind was reeling with what we could find. There have been attempts at trying to get stuff done, but nothing has been that major. Our transmittion going out has been the worst of it. Other than the whippings, but there still isn’t a clear reason these were done. Walking through the office door, I saw his dad leaning against our d
“They are going to be so pissed.” I voiced my fear to Jet and Brent. “Yes, they will be, but they will understand eventually.” Brent sighed. “Let’s start with Wade and Justina.” Awesome, the ones I am most worried about. Plus, they are the only ones we could tell what was going on afterward. We sat in silence. I assumed one of the guys asked them to come over. My anxiety was rising each minute it took them to come. When they finally did knock, it scared me, causing me to jump a little. Jet frowned at me as Brent got up and opened the door. “Thanks for coming, guys.” Jet said. He didn’t stand up, shake their hands or anything. Both of them looking around. I could tell they were extremely nervous. “If this goes bad, we could tell them we are pregnant to help lighten the mood?” I suggested in the mind-link to Jet. His lip twitched as he fought off a smile. “What’s going on? Why did you need us down here so urgently?” Wade asked. Jet and Brent both looked at me. I glared right ba
After Jet had his way with me last night, I passed out hard. However, I had a dream. In that dream, it was a vision of sorts. Being too scared to hurt people’s feelings, we never caught the mole. The mole was then able to get important information, resulting in the death of our pack. I had lost. Adron won the battle, and the Earth shattered under his command. Hearing the screams of my second family as I watched Adron send a spear through their hearts was something I’ll never unhear. Even if it was a dream. As soon as my eyes opened, I vowed to myself to never allow my weakness to come in the way of saving our pack. If I have to piss some people off in order to do that, then that is what I will do. No one, and I mean no one, will ever kill the people I love and care about. I rested my hands on my hips as I gazed out the window in our office. Jet was looking at the blueprints for the battle, but my mind was still on my dream. The fire that started burning in my stomach was new, welco
Samantha stared at me with wide eyes. Anger, sadness, and shock all fashed before me. The words just came out of my mouth. On one hand, I was proud of myself for standing up for what I felt was right. On the other hand, I did regret not doing exactly as she said. Maybe I should have called her. Either way, as I stared into her eyes, I knew I would be taking her there so she could say her goodbyes. Suddenly, Samantha just ran from the room. Just bolted out of the office. Jameson wasn’t quick enough to catch her. He made it to the door before he stopped and looked back at us. His eyes were begging to be allowed to leave. “Go.” I said with a sigh. He didn’t question it as he ran from the room. Everyone was quiet. Sitting down in my chair, I just replayed the whole conversation. “For what it’s worth, I believe you handled that the way you should have.” Wade said. Looking up, he was looking straight at me. “Was I wrong for not calling her?” I asked the room, but to no one in particul
Everyone glanced at each other in the room. “What secrets are you hiding?” I pressed. Her face morphed like she was in physical pain. I watched as her eyes shifted from full black back to her normal shade. The expression on her face was something out of a horror movie. Slowly, she stood up and looked at me with pure hatred. Everyone in the room took a few steps back from her. “Come on, Ivory. Don’t kill my fun!” It was the voice of Adron, through Megan’s mouth. It was worse than I thought. He wasn’t manipulating her; he possessed her. “Let her go!” I demanded. “I’m not done with her yet!” He laughed. Her mouth opened wider than I thought possible. Fear was something I really hadn’t felt an abundance of, but this, this was something I truly feared. “I think you are. You have been caught, there isn’t anything else you can do in that body.” I bluffed or at least hoped he would reveal his motives. “Dear innocent Ivory, so so innocent. I can’t wait for you to see all the things
Thank you all for reading Opal Eyed Luna! This has been a story that has sat in my mind for a year that I just needed to get out. However, as I wrote it, the story took a turn that I had not expected and it ended up being much longer than anticipated. Since I have read and recieved so much feedback about legnths of books, I have decided to make this part one with a possible part 2 if you readers enjoyed it! I am working on two others right now but I don't feel like I am ready to not see where Ivory and Jet go with her new job title! If you would like to see a book two, please let me know! I love hearing all your thoughts! As always, I do read each and every one of them. As much as I try to like or reply to them all, I have a toddler that I am trying to potty train so it is a little crazy in my house hold! My new book out is called Diamond Eyed Luna. That might be the last in this series, depending if I write a book 2 on this one. It is currently available and I will be posting regu
“We are here to serve you.” Their voice was like ice water running down my veins. “Why can’t Jet see you?” “We could allow him to if you wish?” “Yes.” “Holy moth-” Jet took a step back and wrapped his arm around me. “He is very much your boss as I am.” I said, wanting them to listen to him too. “Understood.” It was weird talking to them. “What is your role? What do you do?” I asked, trying to understand. “We are your servants. When someone needs to pass through, you signal us and we take them there. We are also your protectors. If danger is near, we will tell you.” “That is how Adron was able to always be a step head of us.” I said to Jet in the mind-link. “One of many ways.” Jet replied. “Can you take me to the underworld?” “Sure, if you wish.” One of them said. “However, you may not get to come back.” Another one said. “Why?” Jet asked. You could almost feel them shift their eyes to him. “You are still human. Portal is a one way unless you are a god. Since you are
There appeared to be a clear understanding from Spencer and Jameson. Calvin needed to go. His attitude was not that of a gamma, but of a cocky little shit. One second they were all looking at each other and the next, Calvin realised what was happening. “Whoa! Guys! Come on!” Calvin tried to plead his case as both men jumped him. Jameson took high as Spencer took low. Calvin surprised me with how much of a fight he put up. He managed to knee Spencer in the ribs and land a single punch to Jameson before he was officially knocked out. Once he was removed, it was just Spencer and Jameson. I was on the edge of my eat, trying to see who was winning. Jet was feeling rather anxious himself, which didn’t help mine. These men had trained together. Jameson had trained Spencer, so it was coach verse student. Spencer tried a submission move that Jameson counteracted. Jameson would go to deliver a combination, and Spencer would avoid it expertly. For five whole minutes, not a single blow was l
“Come on, it wasn’t that bad!” Jet was on the other side of my locked bathroom door. Humiliation and embarrassment filled me as I stripped naked and turned the shower on. I had fallen asleep before Jet was back. So, I was trying to make it up to him this morning, but the sexy lingerie I was trying to put on was not baby bell proof. It stuck out like a busted can of biscuits and even ripped the material. The worst part, Jet had walked into the closet to see where I had went and found me in front of the mirror. I was about to pull the one piece down but my stomach ripped a hole, my ass was eating the underwear and there wasn’t enough fabric to cover my nipple. It looked absolutely horrifying. To top it off, I was out of breath from trying to get into it. Jet’s eyes widened as he tried to hide a smile. So, naturally, I am hiding in the bathroom. It was easy to rip it off as my stomach had already started it. Dying of embarrassment was a true statement that never hit me so hard before.
“That was an exhausting day.” My ass was sore from riding Colt all day. It normally wouldn’t be but with this extra weight on my stomach, my posture was off. “Watching the obstacle course twelve times isss… rough. I got my twelve miles in today.” Wade sat down in the chair. Jet was wearing only was wearing his shorts. With his bare chest, it was hard to focus. These pregnancy hormones are no joke. Plus, it has been forever since we had sex. “Focus, afterwards we can do whatever you want.” Jet teased me in my mind. “ANYWAY.” I said, a little too loud. Jet smirked, and Wade looked slightly confused before choosing to ignore us. “Let’s just start at the top. Carol.” “She made quite a few mistakes.” Wade frowned as Jet pulled up the video of her running. “What is the scoring? Like five points per task?” I asked. “That would make 20 points total so that is good.” Jet said. “To start, she immediately stepped on a mine and got herself killed. She didn’t even look around to make s
Jet and I were angry as we exited our room. Not at each other, but the situation we were put in. I thought everything was behind us. We thought we could have a normal quiet life now with our pack and our child. Nope. Now we have to deal with this. What kind of toll is this going to take on me? On our child? “Whoa, that is some major aggression you both have today.” Susan said as we turned the corner into the foyer. Brent, Susan and Wade were waiting for us. I was a little surprised to see Susan. Ever since Megan was killed, she hasn’t come around much if it wasn’t about the baby. “Let’s get this over with.” Jet said as he kept walking past his family and towards the golf carts. Everyone had a surprised looks on their face as they watched him go and then turned and gave me a questioning look. “Later.” I said and followed him out, too. I couldn’t walk as fast, but I was happy to see Jet was waiting by the side of the cart to help me in. No one spoke as we made our awkward golf cart r
“Alright, we have our rankings!” Jet said as he held up his paper. “What are they?” I asked. Jet had kept the names to himself and just wrote the score down by the person. “There are a few ties, but here it is.” He laid it out in front of us. My eyes instantly went to find Jameson. He scored a 25 out of 30. A huge relief washing through me as I kept looking down the line. 19… 22…13… 26 wait? What? It was Carol. She scored one higher than Jameson on the critical thinking test. On the bottom of the paper, there was a list of each name from top ranking to bottom. Carol- 26Jameson-25Spencer-22Leroy- 22Peter- 21Calvin- 21Mark- 19Ethan-19Tyler- 19Anthony- 17Beau-15Dalton-13 “Interesting.” Wade said as he studied it. “Oh, this isn’t good for me.” Sitting down, the panic feeling started creeping back up. “Don’t worry. Jameson excels at obstacle courses. Actually, Leroy might give him a run for his money tomorrow. Even give Carol a heart attack.” Jet said as he grabbed a th
“Are we ready to go?” I was pacing in our office as Jet was finishing up each item on the critical thinking test. It had been a full week and I haven’t done anything but sit around and wait. Wait to go into labor, wait for Jameson to heal and even just wait for this tournament. There were a total of a dozen names on the paper. One female and the rest were males. “I’m finishing it now.” Jet said, slightly annoyed, but his patience was endless with me recently. I knew I was being a handful, but it was hard to relax. Susan had managed to get all the laundry done and put away, but there hadn’t been any progress in making a nursery. So I am worried about the nursery and worried about this tournament. I might have a heart attack before this is over. “You need to breathe.” Wade was sitting on the couch, watching me with a smile on his face. The fact that he found this funny was frustrating. “I’ll… I’ll… I’ll set you on fire!” I finally spit out at him. “We could put that in the obstacl
My feet were never so thankful to be wearing something so comfortable. I couldn’t imagine wearing heels or flats even. Not that I was full on waddling like Justina, but I could tell I was starting to get a sway. Jet gave me his arm to use as we made our way to the field. Brent and Wade had not shown up yet but I knew they weren’t that far behind. All the seats were filled. As we made our way to the front, I noticed everyone had mixed emotions about today. The thing is, I couldn’t tell if it was anger at me or anger at Jameson. There were some people crying, and some even looked happy. Happy his spot was open or happy because they didn’t like him? I couldn’t tell. “So many different emotions.” I commented in the mind-link. We had found our seats and sat down. Jameson and Samantha were standing ten feet from each other, with a baggy t-shirt. Samantha looked both scared and pissed off. Jameson just looked ashamed. “They hadn’t heard the full story, but rumors get spread. From what I
