Danica
The man wouldn't stop looking at me. His wide-opened blue eyes were fixed on me. My body trembled, and I could feel my eyes dampen from the fear that was consuming me.
“I, Logan Summer, Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, reject you...” He paused, remembering that he didn’t know my name. My lip and chin quivered as anger and sadness overshadowed me. I clenched my fists tightly.
The rejection pierced my soul like a sword. I never thought I would be lucky to have a second chance mate, because it was rare in our world. But I hit the jackpot, and the man was rejecting me without knowing the tiniest thing about me.
Tears accumulated in my eyes. I felt my heart shatter to pieces. Two rejections on my eighteenth birthday? It was the worst day of my life.
“Why…” I wanted to know what I did wrong. Was I not good enough to be his mate?
“Alpha Logan!” a voice called out from the center hall, interrupting me.
The name resonated in my head. Alpha Logan! My eyes opened wide in complete shock. Although he mentioned his name earlier, I was too consumed with the fear of rejection to pay much attention to it.
Why would the moon goddess make the infamous world-class cold-hearted alpha my mate? Logan was undeniably gorgeous, but his cold-heartedness made him off for me. Most women still tripped for him, but that couldn’t be me.
“The council meeting is about to commence," the guy continued. Alpha Logan stared coldly at me, then approached the guy and left me standing like a fool. My eyes followed him while he met the guy. Logan exchanged conversations with him, and the guy frowned at me. I knew this was far from over. Why wouldn’t he completely reject me now? We could get it done with. The last person I’d want to get mated to would be the bloody, heartless murderer Alpha of the North. I’d rather become a rogue. For peace's sake, the man killed people to expand his pack’s territory and captured women for harems.
Later,
“Don’t tell me you’ll really go through with this.” A guy with brown eyes frowned at Logan as he sat on the edge of the bed. “I can’t believe this is happening.” He continued.
“Niel!” Logan yelled, glaring at him.
“Sorry.” The guy brushed his fingers through his hair.
“Calm down, guys; you’re getting too worked up.” Another guy standing at the corner of the room said, smiling. His smile revealed the dimples on his cheeks. He was the guy who told Logan about the commencement of the council meeting the other time. “She is so pretty that I cannot help but be concerned about Lily.” He chuckled.
Who the hell was Lily?
“This isn’t the time for that, Joey.” Niel snarled at him.
“I’m curious why you announced that you accepted me as your mate at the council meeting when you were on the verge of rejecting me a few hours ago. Your friends don’t like me, and I doubt your pack members will want to see my face either. So will someone tell me what I am doing here and why you are suddenly accepting me as your mate?” My breath burst in and out as fury ran down my spine.
“She’s smart too.” Joey smiled and shook his head.
“Good, you know you’ll have no place in our pack. I’ll never serve a lowlife omega like you as my Luna.” Niel frowned.
“I can’t remember forcing him to accept the mating bond,” I said as my eyes bulged.
“Had you not been a pushover that disgusts your entire pack, Laure and the pack council wouldn’t have suggested that he get mated to you.” Niel clenched his fists. “An omega Luna? This has never happened before in the history of our pack.” Niel glared.
“Give us a moment,” Logan said to Niel and Joey. They tilted their heads toward each other, exchanging glances, then nodded.
Niel stood and glared at me for a few seconds.
“You aren’t just omega, but latent too. How do you feel when others shift and you can’t? You are nothing, and you still have the guts to talk back to people like us. The people who raised you can’t even wait to get rid of you. If you think you can become Luna of the North, you had better be ready to pass through me.” He whispered in my ear before he headed out of the room with Joey. Tears drenched my eyes.
People reminded me of who I am at every opportunity they get, but that hit me differently. Being a latent omega has been the greatest embargo of my life. People hated me for that without getting to know anything about me. I have gotten so used to it that it barely bothered me except that it made me a bit rebellious, though I got punished for it every time, but I didn’t mind; it made me less of a pushover to other omegas, who cried like fools anytime a pack member bullied them.
Logan stood up from the sofa that he was seated on and walked towards me. My body cowered as he strolled towards me. The gaze that escaped his blue eyes made shivers run through my body. I stared at his wide shoulders and broad chest as he stopped at my front. His alluring scent of fresh cedarwood hit my nose, intoxicating me.
“You belong to me now.” He pulled the strands of hair from my face to the back of my ear and my breath was close to ceasing.
“I belong to nobody. I would rather become a rogue than leave hell for hell.” I muttered under my breath. His touch sent a spark down my nerves. My wolf, Shay, raced inside of me with excitement. Traitor.
“Hell for hell?” He caressed my face with his hand. My body shivered as he touched my face. Shay wanted him to take us and bury himself deep inside us. He was the horrible and fearsome Alpha of the North. How could Shay not be bothered about this?
He swept his fingers over my lips, and they quivered under his tender touch.
I had a lot on my mind to say to him, but my body and Shay were so swept away that my brain blacked out, wanting only one thing—him, like he hypnotized me.
“We leave tomorrow.” He pulled away from me and walked away, approaching the door. I came back to my reality, shocked. I turned to him before he could leave.
“You are Alpha of the North and could have refused the council’s suggestion,” I muttered. His footsteps stopped abruptly.
“No Alpha has ultimate power over the council, no matter how powerful they are. Laure started it without knowing we were fated.” He lied. Maybe no other Alpha could have, but he could. The council members feared him more than anyone could imagine.
“Laure did?” I couldn’t believe my ears. Laure was supposed to protect me.
“What! Do you feel betrayed by your father?” Logan smirked.
“He isn’t my biological father, and betrayal?” I scoffed. “It’s what I have gotten since I could remember... Please complete the rejection. I don’t want to be mated to you.” My eyes gleamed, hoping he would reject me. I had nowhere else to go if he rejected me. My parents wouldn’t want me to stay in the pack anymore, but I was more willing to find my path than get stuck with Logan.
“It’s good that the feeling is mutual.” He left the room, shutting the door behind him, and I froze in awe.
I was certain he didn’t want me, and neither did Niel nor Joey. Why, then, was he willing to mate with me? Was he doing this because he didn’t want to go against the council?
I plunged out of the room, rushing after him.
“Danica!” a familiar voice called out.
Damn it, can the blockhead just leave me alone? I stopped and stared at him.
“Can we do this later?” I glared at Ausha, whose eyebrows furrowed. I left him and ran after Logan, who was still walking away.
“I need to talk to you.” Ausha grabbed my arm.
“I don’t want to.” I tried yanking my hand from him, but he held on tight. “What business do we have together again? You first rejected me, and now your dad is giving me off to a monster.” My hand yanked off this time.
He gazed at me with damp eyes. “Danny, I’m sorry. We can work things out. You don’t have to go with him if you agree to be my mistress.” He held my hand again.
I frowned at him. “Are you kidding me? Between you both, I don’t know who is the worst. I’ll never change my mind and accept you for whatever reason. Now let my arm go.” I yelled.
“Danny, please.” He looked into my eyes.
“Let me go.” I yelled again.
“Listen to me.” He held on tight to my arm as I kept pulling it away. His tight grip burned my hand.
“You’re hurting me.” I pulled again.
“I won’t let you go if you don’t stay still and listen to me.” He gripped it tighter, and I groaned in pain. I was about to give him a hard kick on his balls when a hand kicked Ausha away, snatching my arm from him. “She said to let her go!” Logan roared. His eyes burned in fury.
Danica“Alpha Logan.” Ausha murmured, staring at Logan. My heart skipped for a moment. That happened so suddenly. Logan dashed to him and pinned him by his throat to the wall.“She’s my mate now. You and your pack members don’t get to bully her anymore. Am I clear?” Logan growled.Bully, how did he know?Ausha struggled and shivered under Logan’s grip.“I-I wasn’t...” Ausha stuttered. He left Ausha and held my hand, checking the bruises I sustained from Ausha’s grip.“Danica is Luna of the Blood Moon Pack. You’ll accord her the respect you accord me.” His eyes shot daggers at Ausha. Whatever was going on now was beyond my understanding. He told me he didn’t want me too. Why was he defending me?“She was my mate.” Ausha managed to make the words escape his lips. “Till you rejected her. She’s mine now. None of you better mess with her before she leaves this place.” Logan clasped our palms together and left Ausha standing.I wondered how he knew all of that. Could he read minds? Ridiculo
Danica,“I-I couldn’t stand her insulting me.” I stuttered, trying to explain myself. I couldn’t fathom why I was. He stared at me with his lips slightly parted. He must have been shocked. “I don’t hit women; I should have done it myself.” He burst into laughter. “She is more ill-mannered than I could’ve imagined. It serves her right.” He looked into my eyes as I smiled. “She hates you for a girl that you grew up with.”“I’m a latent omega, remember? Everybody hates omegas, not to talk about being latent too.” It was the bitter truth—people hardly considered omegas living beings. I couldn’t shift either, making things worse for me.He scoffed at me. “Don’t sell yourself short. You just hit an alpha." He took my hand and headed out of the garden. I grinned, thinking I didn’t need Alpha blood or my wolf’s strength to defend myself. “You didn’t tell me where you were taking me.”“Relax; I don’t bite.”“The rumor says you do.”He smiled. “How’s your arm doing?”“Stinging a bit.”The man
DanicaMyla stared at Logan. Her eyes were pleading, but Logan’s glare was unforgiving.“Get your hand off her hair,” Logan said more softly than I expected. He was undoubtedly cautioning himself; he looked too angry to speak softly. She removed her hand from my hair, and I sighed, massaging my scalp with my fingers. Logan released her hand from the air and stared into her eyes, dead serious. “Don’t bother breaking more sweat on Danica anymore. Worry about your punks. If any of you mess with her again, I swear I’m going to kill you.”“She broke Tristan’s nose.” Myla quivered, murmuring underneath her scared breath.“I bet Tristan didn’t tell you what she did. Even if she did tell you, I wonder if you would have seen a fault in it. Don’t you dare hit her again; I’m warning you people.” Logan howled.Myla only complained about Tristan’s nose; she should wait till she finds out about Ausha.“Let’s go, dear.” He held my arm. “Oh! It seems you haven’t heard that your son was admitted to the
DanicaHe wouldn't bulge, and he allowed the fake bitch to caress his body. I tried to hold my anger in, but it was more difficult than I could imagine. I picked up a fork and dragged it on a plate before me on the table. The scratch made a terrible screech that vibrated in the room. They closed their ears with their fingers, frowning at me. They probably thought I was crazy, hell yeah, I was. As bad as I hated the sound, I did it till my heart was content. I crossed my arm and leaned my elbows on the table, staring at the bitch and motherfucker.“Why did you do that?” The pink-haired girl glared. Pinkie, it sounded too cute to call a whore like her, but I'll just go with that. She walked toward me. Oh goodness, she'd better not come close to me. Her glare didn’t move me, so I ignored her. “Joey, where did you get this psycho? Who the fuck is she?” She asked Joey, who was gulping down orange juice.“She's my mate,” said Logan, sitting opposite me at the table. A load of silence fell
DanicaI stared at her reddened face and wanted to pull her pink hair out of her head. I knew she wasn’t angry because of the broken conservation glass scattered on the floor, but because it was a good outlet for her to pass out the anger of losing Logan to me.“You think you can walk into anywhere in the pack house because you were given the Luna title. This place is off-limits to everybody, but you didn’t just enter here; you broke an artwork too. You think Logan will let this slide because you are what? His fated mate?” Lily ranted. I removed my hand from my cheek and grinned.“Don’t ever do that again.” I stared at her with contempt. I was angry and wanted her to regret hitting me, but it was too early to be causing trouble. I hadn't even spent twenty-four hours in the pack.“Or what? You’ll hit me back.” She chuckled. “I don’t even have to lift a finger to do anything, including getting rid of you. Do you know why I swallowed my pride and returned when Logan told me I'd have to le
Danica“You get me hard like a rock every time you do that.” He mumbled and caressed my skin underneath my shirt. The warmth from his hands soothed the cold on my skin, making me moan softly.“Do what?” A whimper escaped my throat amidst my moaning. “Challenge those who try to bully you.” He buried his head in my neck and sniffed it.“You smell like wet sand—that earthy smell after a light summer rain. The rain is a gift to the earth, like you are a gift to me.”What was he rumbling about? He didn’t have to say those to get me in bed with him. Didn’t he accept me as his mate because he didn’t want to object to the council's suggestion of us being mated without the council’s knowledge that we were fated mates? He must be acting up because of his emotions and his shooting hormones. He retreated his tongue from my neck and brushed his nose on mine. His warm breath fell on my face. His woody scent of cedar sent warmth and calmness through my body. He sealed our lips firmly and kissed me
DanicaA knock slammed on the door. Another maid rushed into the room with my luggage. She must have brought it from the room where I slept this morning.“Luna, I’m Tessa. The whole pack is in commotion right now because of you. The good kind of commotion.” Her brightened face made me wonder how they served happily in the pack. They didn’t have the miserable look the omegas had in the Phoenix pack.“Tessa, what’s happening in the pack?” Zhuri took the bag from her.“The pack women are planning to host a welcome party for you, Luna,” said Tessa. Party! My heart accelerated. I’ve never had one before.“That makes sense. There hasn’t been a Luna in the pack for four years.” Zhuri nodded. “The pack elders tried to find him a new mate several times. They thought it would help him find solace, but he rejected them all. The Alpha used to be an interesting man to be with and fun to play with, but after Luna Paris’ death, he completely changed and became cold. Every effort to help him find him
Danica He grasped my waist and pressed my butt. He smacked my ass hard. “You’d be yelling whose work it is while I finger-fuck you, cookie.” He snorted. Motherfucker. Was that a way to blatantly tell me I was his sex toy? “Fuck you.” I grunted with the side of my face pressed against the door.“I can smell your arousal, princess. Quit acting tough.” His nose smooched my neck, and I could hear his breath through his light moan.He squeezed my ass with his hand, holding me to the door with the second. He smacked my ass again and pulled up my skirt. He pressed my ass and licked my face. I moaned. I knew that I should be breaking his nose and not moaning like he bewitched me.He sank low to my butt and licked my bald pussy. His tongue writhed and shoveled inside me. I groaned from the pleasure. He stood and turned me to face him.“You’re so tasty, princess.”He held my neck to the door, plunged a finger inside of me, and thrust in shallowly. I moaned like crazy. “That’s it, cookie. Moan
DanicaMy mouth flung open. Suicide? It couldn’t be. Zhuri was full of life yesterday. She was sad when she spoke about Paris, but she wasn’t looking suicidal. She promised to serve and protect me and my unborn children. How was it possible that she’d taken her own life less than twelve hours later?Logan stared at Zhuri’s body with a dull, slack face. Bobby gave him the suicide note, and he read through it. A loud cry that almost made my heart stop roared at my back. I turned, and it was Harper crying. She dumped the clothes in her hand and dashed to Zhuri’s lifeless body lying on the floor.“Mummy, no.” She hugged Zhuri’s body and wailed. The sight made my eyes more teary. I stormed back into the elevator because I couldn’t keep watching. I went back to our room on the fifth floor and couldn’t help but pace back and forth. My heart ached heavily in my chest. Something wasn’t adding up. Why would a mother with a grown-up daughter kill herself? Tears rolled down my cheeks. Logan ente
LoganThe heavy scent of wet sand filled my nose as I woke up from sleep. I opened my heavy eyelids and found out that I had curled my body into Danica’s. My eyes shot open. That was crazy. We slept backing ourselves last night, and my wolf drove me almost insane for keeping space between us. My wolf must have taken control of my body and cuddled her while I was deeply asleep. I gazed at her cute, round face as she slept. She’d have caught me holding her and staring at her if she wasn’t a heavy sleeper. I brushed her hair from her face as I took my time to admire her innocent, pretty face, sleeping calmly and comfortably.I couldn’t help but wonder why I met a second fated mate after four years of living in the shadow of heartbreak, sorrow, and guilt. I loved Paris so much that it was difficult to let go of her memory and the pain that came with it for myself and my wolf. I removed my arm around her and was about to rise from the bed when I noticed that her arm was holding me. My bod
DanicaMy pulse raced. What would Logan say? Lily didn’t mind humiliating her Alpha and the man she claimed to love because she was desperate to humiliate me. I took a deep breath, ready to bear the embarrassment.“Yes, I do.” I raised my head in shock and gazed at him, and our eyes made contact. “I love her like I loved Paris.” I sighed with relief. I didn’t care if he told the truth or lied. Knowing that he saved me from Lily’s snare was all that mattered to me.Lily nodded. She wasn’t done yet, and I could read it from her smiles.“Luna, you are an orphan and a latent omega that was bullied all her life. How do you intend to lead the packwomen when you don’t have what it takes?” She continued.I scoffed. The bitch came prepared. She had it all well planned out. It seemed I didn't pass my message well to her in the morning. I was going to make it clearer for her to understand. Her informant must have forgotten to tell her I was also a bitch. Logan hid his clenched fist. “Pinkie,
