Danica,
“I-I couldn’t stand her insulting me.” I stuttered, trying to explain myself. I couldn’t fathom why I was. He stared at me with his lips slightly parted. He must have been shocked.
“I don’t hit women; I should have done it myself.” He burst into laughter. “She is more ill-mannered than I could’ve imagined. It serves her right.” He looked into my eyes as I smiled. “She hates you for a girl that you grew up with.”
“I’m a latent omega, remember? Everybody hates omegas, not to talk about being latent too.” It was the bitter truth—people hardly considered omegas living beings. I couldn’t shift either, making things worse for me.
He scoffed at me. “Don’t sell yourself short. You just hit an alpha." He took my hand and headed out of the garden.
I grinned, thinking I didn’t need Alpha blood or my wolf’s strength to defend myself. “You didn’t tell me where you were taking me.”
“Relax; I don’t bite.”
“The rumor says you do.”
He smiled. “How’s your arm doing?”
“Stinging a bit.”
The man was making me go insane out of curiosity. Does he really care about me?
We approached the pack’s clinic, and I snatched my hand from him immediately. The idea that he was bringing me to the clinic didn’t cross my mind. “This isn’t necessary. My arm’s going to heal on its own. I’ve never been here before.” I had injuries and broken bones every now and then, but I had never been to the clinic before. They heal one way or another. No omega was allowed to receive treatment in the pack clinic. It was an order that even I that Laure, the past Alpha, and Myla, his mate raised from childhood, had to follow.
“I know.” He responded.
“How?” I frowned curiously.
“Tristan.”
“You two had a long talk, didn’t you?” I deduced that all he and Niel said was heard from Tristan; her mouth was a basket that couldn't hold water.
“We did... Don’t stop me; I don’t want to drag you or carry you.”
I sighed deeply. I guess I didn’t have a choice. It would have been fun if he had carried me, though. He was going to find out why I’d never been here and why I didn’t want to go in later. We entered the clinic, where he told a doctor to examine my arm.
“The pack forbids all omegas from getting treatment at the clinic.” The doctor informed him.
“What?” Logan’s mouth fell open. I bet Tristan didn’t tell him that part. He took a glance at me, and I nodded, affirming the doctor’s statement.
“What the fuck? What happens anytime you get ill?”
“I take care of myself any way I can.”
He clenched his fists. “She’s my Luna, not just any omega; will you take a look at her arm now?”
“I’m sorry, I can’t. She’s still an omega here. Unless you get approval from the Alpha,” the doctor replied.
“Attend to her, or I’ll tear you apart right now,” Logan growled, his eyes bulging. He was looking damn serious. If the rumors about him were true, he would really do it without batting an eye.
“Logan, stop.” I pleaded. If he would be causing trouble in the pack, I didn’t want it to be because of me.
“W-who are you?” The doctor stuttered. I bet he was scared to death by merely looking into Logan’s angry eyes.
“Logan Summer.”
The doctor stood immediately from his seat, bowing his head to him. “Accept my apologies, Alpha Logan; I’ll examine her now.” The trembles on his body that he tried hiding screamed in his voice.
“Come with me, omega.”
“Her name is Danica.” Logan roared, banging his fist on a desk.
“Sorry Alpha. Danica, please come with me.” The doctor examined my hand by running an X-ray. I could feel the doctor’s continuous shivers as he examined my arm. Logan stood by my side, not bothered that his presence made the doctor uncomfortable.
“She doesn’t have a broken bone. I’ll prescribe some ointments and pain relief pills..."
A loud cry came from a room in the clinic, making the doctor stop. It was a female’s voice, and it sounded so familiar.
“She’s awake. I’m sorry for the noise.” The doctor pleaded, and Logan nodded. I knew he wasn’t apologizing to me; if he was, it would be fake. Why bother? He wrote the prescriptions and wrapped my hand in a bandage.
The cry echoed again; it was definitely Tristan. I smiled to myself. Good luck with her nose.
We left the doctor’s office and headed to the pharmaceutical section of the clinic. Ausha rushed in, looking around the clinic. What was he looking for? Oh, Tristan was here. Logan clenched his teeth upon seeing him, and his eyes protruded coldly.
“Where is she?” Ausha asked a nurse.
“Room 205.” She answered, and he approached the rooms. Logan suddenly raced to him, punching him in the face. Ausha fell to the ground, trying to fight back. I covered my wide-open mouth with my hands. He deserved it, but he was the pack’s Alpha after all. Beating him in the presence of his pack members didn’t sit well with me.
“How dare you treat her that way?” Logan yelled as he kept punching him.
“What are you talking about?” Ausha screamed at the top of his voice, fighting back to subdue Logan, which was obviously pretty impossible.
Ausha was already bleeding, and I had to do something to stop Logan from murdering Ausha right in the presence of his subjects. I ran to them.
“Logan! Logan!!” No matter how much I yelled, he wasn’t responding.
Ausha lay helplessly on the ground as Logan kept throwing punches at him. None of the pack members, not even the pack guards that were present, had the guts to move close to him. I couldn’t risk it either; I barely knew him, and he could rip me apart if I did. But if he kept punching Ausha, he might end up killing him.
“Logan, stop, please. He didn’t make the rules.” I pleaded.
“He didn’t have to. He had the chance to change it but did nothing about it.” His veins twitched as he kept on punching him.
“I know you’re angry for me, but this is not what I want.” I pleaded again. I hated Ausha’s guts, but punching him to the verge of passing out was a no-no for me. He halted and stood up, slowly walking towards me. “He hurt you knowing the clinic wouldn’t treat you. That is wickedness.”
God, the man was so bloodthirsty.
“Let’s go.” All eyes in the clinic were on us. I couldn’t give him a piece of my mind at the moment. I was so mad at him that I forgot that I had to get my prescriptions until he mentioned it.
“I’ll get the prescription; sit there.” He pointed to a seat at the side of the staircase. I sat, and he went to the pharmacy store a few feet away from me.
The guards carried Ausha, who was breathing heavily with a swollen face. I had to confess that I felt sorry for the asshole. I took my time watching Logan as he got the medications. The man was a perfect creature and the perfect definition of my dream man. It would have been more perfect if he wasn’t the asshole of the north.
A hand suddenly grabbed my hair from the back. I groaned, holding the hair; it was as if the hair would pull out of my scalp. Myla pulled me up to my feet with my hair and landed a slap on my face. I groaned out even louder.
“You fool, how dare you lay hands on Tristan? She’s supposed to be your sister.” She raised her hand again, but Logan grabbed it this time.
“Alpha Logan!” Myla was startled; her mouth fell wide open.
Logan glared at her, his veins pulsing. Myla trembled with her hand still up in the air with Logan’s grab. His noisy breathing rang in my ears. His chest fell and rose. Damn it. She brought the beast out.
DanicaMyla stared at Logan. Her eyes were pleading, but Logan’s glare was unforgiving.“Get your hand off her hair,” Logan said more softly than I expected. He was undoubtedly cautioning himself; he looked too angry to speak softly. She removed her hand from my hair, and I sighed, massaging my scalp with my fingers. Logan released her hand from the air and stared into her eyes, dead serious. “Don’t bother breaking more sweat on Danica anymore. Worry about your punks. If any of you mess with her again, I swear I’m going to kill you.”“She broke Tristan’s nose.” Myla quivered, murmuring underneath her scared breath.“I bet Tristan didn’t tell you what she did. Even if she did tell you, I wonder if you would have seen a fault in it. Don’t you dare hit her again; I’m warning you people.” Logan howled.Myla only complained about Tristan’s nose; she should wait till she finds out about Ausha.“Let’s go, dear.” He held my arm. “Oh! It seems you haven’t heard that your son was admitted to the
DanicaHe wouldn't bulge, and he allowed the fake bitch to caress his body. I tried to hold my anger in, but it was more difficult than I could imagine. I picked up a fork and dragged it on a plate before me on the table. The scratch made a terrible screech that vibrated in the room. They closed their ears with their fingers, frowning at me. They probably thought I was crazy, hell yeah, I was. As bad as I hated the sound, I did it till my heart was content. I crossed my arm and leaned my elbows on the table, staring at the bitch and motherfucker.“Why did you do that?” The pink-haired girl glared. Pinkie, it sounded too cute to call a whore like her, but I'll just go with that. She walked toward me. Oh goodness, she'd better not come close to me. Her glare didn’t move me, so I ignored her. “Joey, where did you get this psycho? Who the fuck is she?” She asked Joey, who was gulping down orange juice.“She's my mate,” said Logan, sitting opposite me at the table. A load of silence fell
DanicaI stared at her reddened face and wanted to pull her pink hair out of her head. I knew she wasn’t angry because of the broken conservation glass scattered on the floor, but because it was a good outlet for her to pass out the anger of losing Logan to me.“You think you can walk into anywhere in the pack house because you were given the Luna title. This place is off-limits to everybody, but you didn’t just enter here; you broke an artwork too. You think Logan will let this slide because you are what? His fated mate?” Lily ranted. I removed my hand from my cheek and grinned.“Don’t ever do that again.” I stared at her with contempt. I was angry and wanted her to regret hitting me, but it was too early to be causing trouble. I hadn't even spent twenty-four hours in the pack.“Or what? You’ll hit me back.” She chuckled. “I don’t even have to lift a finger to do anything, including getting rid of you. Do you know why I swallowed my pride and returned when Logan told me I'd have to le
Danica“You get me hard like a rock every time you do that.” He mumbled and caressed my skin underneath my shirt. The warmth from his hands soothed the cold on my skin, making me moan softly.“Do what?” A whimper escaped my throat amidst my moaning. “Challenge those who try to bully you.” He buried his head in my neck and sniffed it.“You smell like wet sand—that earthy smell after a light summer rain. The rain is a gift to the earth, like you are a gift to me.”What was he rumbling about? He didn’t have to say those to get me in bed with him. Didn’t he accept me as his mate because he didn’t want to object to the council's suggestion of us being mated without the council’s knowledge that we were fated mates? He must be acting up because of his emotions and his shooting hormones. He retreated his tongue from my neck and brushed his nose on mine. His warm breath fell on my face. His woody scent of cedar sent warmth and calmness through my body. He sealed our lips firmly and kissed me
DanicaA knock slammed on the door. Another maid rushed into the room with my luggage. She must have brought it from the room where I slept this morning.“Luna, I’m Tessa. The whole pack is in commotion right now because of you. The good kind of commotion.” Her brightened face made me wonder how they served happily in the pack. They didn’t have the miserable look the omegas had in the Phoenix pack.“Tessa, what’s happening in the pack?” Zhuri took the bag from her.“The pack women are planning to host a welcome party for you, Luna,” said Tessa. Party! My heart accelerated. I’ve never had one before.“That makes sense. There hasn’t been a Luna in the pack for four years.” Zhuri nodded. “The pack elders tried to find him a new mate several times. They thought it would help him find solace, but he rejected them all. The Alpha used to be an interesting man to be with and fun to play with, but after Luna Paris’ death, he completely changed and became cold. Every effort to help him find him
Danica He grasped my waist and pressed my butt. He smacked my ass hard. “You’d be yelling whose work it is while I finger-fuck you, cookie.” He snorted. Motherfucker. Was that a way to blatantly tell me I was his sex toy? “Fuck you.” I grunted with the side of my face pressed against the door.“I can smell your arousal, princess. Quit acting tough.” His nose smooched my neck, and I could hear his breath through his light moan.He squeezed my ass with his hand, holding me to the door with the second. He smacked my ass again and pulled up my skirt. He pressed my ass and licked my face. I moaned. I knew that I should be breaking his nose and not moaning like he bewitched me.He sank low to my butt and licked my bald pussy. His tongue writhed and shoveled inside me. I groaned from the pleasure. He stood and turned me to face him.“You’re so tasty, princess.”He held my neck to the door, plunged a finger inside of me, and thrust in shallowly. I moaned like crazy. “That’s it, cookie. Moan
DanicaMy pulse raced. What would Logan say? Lily didn’t mind humiliating her Alpha and the man she claimed to love because she was desperate to humiliate me. I took a deep breath, ready to bear the embarrassment.“Yes, I do.” I raised my head in shock and gazed at him, and our eyes made contact. “I love her like I loved Paris.” I sighed with relief. I didn’t care if he told the truth or lied. Knowing that he saved me from Lily’s snare was all that mattered to me.Lily nodded. She wasn’t done yet, and I could read it from her smiles.“Luna, you are an orphan and a latent omega that was bullied all her life. How do you intend to lead the packwomen when you don’t have what it takes?” She continued.I scoffed. The bitch came prepared. She had it all well planned out. It seemed I didn't pass my message well to her in the morning. I was going to make it clearer for her to understand. Her informant must have forgotten to tell her I was also a bitch. Logan hid his clenched fist. “Pinkie,
LoganThe heavy scent of wet sand filled my nose as I woke up from sleep. I opened my heavy eyelids and found out that I had curled my body into Danica’s. My eyes shot open. That was crazy. We slept backing ourselves last night, and my wolf drove me almost insane for keeping space between us. My wolf must have taken control of my body and cuddled her while I was deeply asleep. I gazed at her cute, round face as she slept. She’d have caught me holding her and staring at her if she wasn’t a heavy sleeper. I brushed her hair from her face as I took my time to admire her innocent, pretty face, sleeping calmly and comfortably.I couldn’t help but wonder why I met a second fated mate after four years of living in the shadow of heartbreak, sorrow, and guilt. I removed my arm around her and was about to rise from the bed when I noticed that her arm was holding me. My bod
DanicaMy mouth flung open. Suicide? It couldn’t be. Zhuri was full of life yesterday. She was sad when she spoke about Paris, but she wasn’t looking suicidal. She promised to serve and protect me and my unborn children. How was it possible that she’d taken her own life less than twelve hours later?Logan stared at Zhuri’s body with a dull, slack face. Bobby gave him the suicide note, and he read through it. A loud cry that almost made my heart stop roared at my back. I turned, and it was Harper crying. She dumped the clothes in her hand and dashed to Zhuri’s lifeless body lying on the floor.“Mummy, no.” She hugged Zhuri’s body and wailed. The sight made my eyes more teary. I stormed back into the elevator because I couldn’t keep watching. I went back to our room on the fifth floor and couldn’t help but pace back and forth. My heart ached heavily in my chest. Something wasn’t adding up. Why would a mother with a grown-up daughter kill herself? Tears rolled down my cheeks. Logan ente
