Chapter 5

Kodan POV

I stare at the tree line, we could hear branches snapping and the odd growl coming through the trees. We were definitely outnumbered and really needed Zante back. Before I could mind link him to see how long he would be, three dark brown wolves emerge from the trees. They stunk. Rogues had their own scent and were generally always in wolf form as their wolf counterparts take over completely.

Zev and I go back to back ensuring neither of us were vulnerable to the rogues. They didn’t stand a chance against us if we weren’t out numbered but they had the advantage. One lunges at Zev causing Lupin to completely take over and pierces his neck with his canines before shaking him around until his body become limp. He bares down on his throat until I hear the snap of his neck and the thud of his body hitting the floor. One down but unfortunately this had only opened them to the opportunity of getting at me. More wolves emerged from the tree line, this was the biggest attack we had encountered in a while and it made me wonder if someone had sent them.

The next thing I know I’m being pinned down by two rogues, both snapping at my face. My vision goes blank briefly as Brody takes over. He was a killer and this is what he was made to do. Brody roared loudly shaking the trees around us and flew from the floor, taking one of the rogues with him. I watch in the background as he pinned the rogue against a tree and tore at his face.

“STAND DOWN” he bellows using his Alpha voice. The rogues initially step back before turning their eyes on Zante. They bolt towards him but he had already shifted into Heath. He turns facing them menacingly and even I could tell the rogues were scared. They stunk of fear but they kept advancing. I made eye contact with Lupin who nodded understanding what was about to happen. Zante braces  himself for impact but Lupin and Brody get to the rogues before they get to him. We wrestled with them until we were able to subdue them. We drag them by their throats in wolf form back to the pack house and shoved them in the cells we had under the house. We would decide what to do with them later. I needed to check on Stacey.

I sit next to Stacey, who was curled up under her blanket in bed. She looked so vulnerable and small, mainly because the bed was so big. The doctor had given her a suppressant to help her deal with her heat, but unfortunately it knocked her out for a few hours. i stroke her face and push a couple of stray strands back behind her ear. She stirrs slightly as she wraps her hand around my wrist. Zante walks in and clicks his tongue in the doorway.

"She'll be okay, she just needs sleep. She'll be back to normal in a few hours you will see" Zante then beckons me out of the room. I steal one last glnce at Stacey as he shut the door.

"We are going to have to be so careful Zante" I whisper, rubbing my hand along the back of my neck.

"I know, we can't risk her getting pregnant before she is marked and in the pack. and now especilly since..." Zante trailed off and his eyes dart around the room. I go to ask him to finish but he pulls his phone out of his pocket before disappearing to the snug.

Zante POV

3 days later

I have been trying to find a trace of the girl I had met at the school. I needed to find her and confirm what I was suspicious about. She has completely disappeared and the school reminded me that she has graduated so would not be at the school anymore. She must be working somewhere and must live nearby. I shake my head and sigh just as one of the assistants walk in.

“And you’re only just informing me of this now!!!” I roar at the assistant at my company ‘Eclipse Construction’ I punch a number into my phone and request my receptionist to send Mr Palo to my office. I had had a very trying few days, rogues constantly trying to enter our territory and now this. I’d had about enough and was ready to loose it.

Mr Palo arrived shortly after and I gesture to him to sit down. I walk around my office and close the door and blinds, after I send a knowing look to my general manager, who was also an Alpha.

“Do you bribe all our prospective employees with your dick, Mr Palo?” I say menacingly. Leaning against the front of my desk, glaring down on him, my aura crushing him into the chair. I don’t even give him the chance to respond before I pick him up and pull him eye level with my bared canines. My office shakes as I slam him by his throat against the wall.

The hatred I feel towards Alphas who cannot control themselves around Omegas, has caused me to ensure all Omegas are protected. They are rare and should be cherished, not used as a breeder to get a good bloodline and now I have come into contact with my destined mate I was determined to protect them. He knew very well that Omegas have no control around an Alpha when he uses his calling and aura to force them. I remind him that even though she was enjoying it she was under instinct as well

I throw Mr Palo from my office and reopen my blinds. Hugh, the general manager joins me in my office and hands me a cup of coffee. He returns the chair back to where it was originally before Mr Palo departed it, Rearranged my desk and handed me a piece of paper with a number and name on it. I needed that outburst both myself and Heath felt calmer and more in control. I’d felt like a ticking time bomb for a few days.

“This is the candidate who Mr Palo fucked. As you might be aware she is an Omega, so I don’t need to remind you what that might do to a few of the staff here, and obviously your Omega at home. It already caused Mr Palo to loose control”

I nod in agreement, gripping my chin in my fingers. If I hired this girl I would have to be extra careful with her, not only for Stacey at home but for the Alphas that work in my building alongside humans. We can’t risk having them distracted by an Omega and especially an Omega in heat and loosing their minds in front of the humans.

“I will deal with that if it happens. For now it’s only decent to offer her another interview and I will conduct it myself.”

Hugh nods and leaves my office. I stare down at the number he had given me. I punch it into my mobile

“Hello?” The voice that came through my phone was the most beautiful voice I had ever heard.

Maggie POV

 I had been going to interviews all week and had no success, that’s including the manager who had his dick in me and then offered me to his assistant like I was a piece of meat. I’m embarrassed at how easily I gave into his advances. It’s been 2 days and my pussy is still sore from the beating she got.

I trawl through job sites, applying for everything and anything just to get some money in. My parents had been going out of their way to help me, trying to make up for the lies they fed me as a child. I glance at a picture of me and mom and smile. I head towards the door to go see her but my phone rings.

“Hello?”

“Maggie Saige?” A low voice hits my ears. The voice sounded familiar and made the hairs on my arms stand on end, but I couldn’t place where I would have heard it. Maybe one of the jobs calling me back to tell me I was unsuccessful.

“Yes this is her” I respond.

“I’m calling you back for a second interview at our firm Eclipse Construction. I have been informed that your last interview was not conducted how it should have been. I can not apologise for this enough and the manager who held your interview has subsequently been fired” he purrs through the phone. I agree to a second interview the same day and go shower before getting ready.

I was stood in foyer of the company waiting to be called through for interview. A door opens to my left and a group of men walked out all glancing in my direction, their eyes black as soon as they locked their eyes with mine.  I had all but forgotten the intoxicating scent that had radiated from Alpha Zante until it smacked me in the face as the door shut. Lyra whimpered quietly and I suddenly felt very nervous.

I’m guided to the door that had just shut and waited to be allowed in.

“Come in”

I open the door and freeze in my steps. Behind an oak desk sat Alpha Zante. His scent was so overwhelming I struggled to focus. Somehow sensing this, Zante offered me a chair and sat across from me.

“I’ve found you” he whispered not breaking eye contact with me. In that moment everything I had ever believed or thought about love was destroyed. Here before me was my mate and Lyra knew it as she was howling loudly and trying to push me to go to him. I wasn’t ready for this, I had only recently found out that I was a wolf, I was not prepared to deal with having a mate as well. I ignored her as much as I could and hoped this interview would be over soon.

Alpha Zante asked the normal interview questions and seemed to spend a lot of time staring at his phone or his computer screen. Seeing as this is his company I let him off thinking he was busy. There was one thing that kept distracting me from the interview, other than his aura and scent, and that was how similar Zante’s eyes were to mine. The same flame shape but red, mine were green and they glowed like mine too. After the questions Zante informed me he would get back to me within the week and if successful I would start induction the week after. I nodded but slightly disappointed as I needed the job now.

Kodan POV

‘I found her’ I read the text several times, my heart pounding in my chest. This text only meant one thing, but I had to be sure it wasn’t a mistake. My office door smashed open and Zev stood there bracing himself against the door frame, waving his phone frantically at me, trying to catch his breath.

“Is.. this… what I think… it means” he gasped, a wild look in his eyes. He must have ran the length of the building and judging by the mess out in the main office, he ran into everything on his way. I shake my head at how reckless Zev is and usher him to the couch.

“Yes I think it is and we need to wait for Zante to confirm. We don’t want to scare her off” I explain to a restless Zev.

We leave my office just as Zante’s office door opens. I had to stop Zev sprinting over as she left his office. She was so small against Zante and her scent was a mixture of chocolate and vanilla, it was heavenly.  Zante was clearly uncomfortable from holding back on his instincts as beads of sweat were forming on his forehead but there must be a reason why he has done that. She glances from Zante to us when she realises we were stood there. I push Zev towards the kitchen who was rooted to the spot.

Zante joins us as we peer at her leaving and we both turn to face him in shock.

“We’ve found her. After all this time we have found her” Zante stuttered. He showed us information he had found about her while interviewing her. To our shock we found out both her parents were humans.

She was a brand new bloodline and the moon goddess had given her to us. This meant she may have had no idea she was a wolf until recently and this was confirmed when we spoke to her parents. We had to understand as much about this girl as possible and what we needed to do to keep her safe. Even though she had no idea what was going on we needed to be prepared for when she does understand. Now I understood why Zante was holding back.

Her parents were understandably concerned when 3 Alphas one being the owner of the city turn up at their door. They knew who we were as when they registered Maggie’s birth as a werewolf, she discovered that the city was owned by one.

“So Mr and Mrs Saige, Maggie is our mate and we understand this will be a big thing for her to deal with. We do not want to scare her or yourselves but she needs to be protected. Alphas will do anything to get their hands on an Omega with a new blood line. She has applied for a job at my firm and as much as I want to hire her, she is in too much danger to be among other wolves now she has bloomed.” Zante continued to explain, trying to be delicate as not the scare them. Her parents had definitely done their research and surprised us with their knowledge on our race.

“Maggie has been doing her research but she’s still coming to terms with meeting her wolf. We have tried to help her but obviously we can not begin to understand what she is going through. Maybe if you did hire her you could help her understand and keep her protected? It’s not like we can do a lot?” She sighed.

We agree to her plan and bid her goodbye. I call Maggie on the drive home and watch Kodan and Zev react to hearing her voice for the first time. They look between each other and smile, both internally melting and longing to meet her again. Unfortunately we needed a plan to get Stacey out and that involved rejecting her. We had all grown very attached to her and I felt such a calm in her presence, but nothing would stop the mating bond making us want our destined mate Maggie. We also needed to protect Maggie from everyone especially other Alphas. If they found out she was a new bloodline, Alphas will do anything to get hold of her.

We head home, the car journey was silent expect for the radio. I could feel Zante and Zev's need to see her again and i was struggling with my own feelings. After all these years of searching and Zante choosing to get an Omega from the Training School, we finally found our destined mate and she works for us. We were going to struggle to hide this from Stacey for long.

Stacey POV

It had been a long day in the office organising more of the packs finances. They had more money than they could use, no wonder Zante was always making new projects in the town. I pull up my laptop and search for land further into the forest that I could use to start my own project. I find a plot of land by a stream and small waterfall and decide to go and look at it myself. I show the driver the location I wanted to go to and we headed out. The drive was bumpy but if I liked the plot I would make sure I built a road for easy access.

I stand looking at the waterfall and imagine what my project would look like. I realise this was the same spot the men had brought me to a few days earlier, I’d had a great time with Zev but my heat took over and I became a whore. I'm usually able to control my heat and now I can with the help of the suppressants I had been given. 

I wanted the perfect cottage hideaway for spending time away from the pack house with my men and it could also be used to hold guests visiting. It needed enough room to hold us plus guests and in the future of our family. I ring our architect and tell him to get the construction started as I wanted it completed as soon as possible. Within the hour, construction had begun and I was excited to show Zante when it was completed. I had asked them to keep it a secret from him. 

Back at the house, I glance at the clock wondering where they could be when the front door opens and they all enter. I start walking towards them and inhale their scents. I stop when I start to smell something else. I take a step back and sniff the air. Zante looks at me concerned and Kodan glances nervously at Zev. 

“Who is that?” I demand and stalk towards Zante and sniff the air around him. My eyes fill with tears and I realise I can smell another Omega on him. It was strongest on Zante meaning she had been very close to him recently. I walk away from them, my body trembling with anger. I turn to face them, trying not to inhale the stench that oozed from them.

“Is that another Omega?” I hiss through the tears. I extend my claws and run at Zante. It was so disrespectful for him to come home stinking of another Omega. He grabs my wrists and holds them as I try to thrash at his face. I wanted him to feel how I felt, betrayed and hurt. Kodan helps and pulls my arms down and pinning them to my sides. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me away from Zante. He lets his calling out and I relax slightly as he takes me to the snug, where he forces me inside my den. 

“I’m sorry Love” he mutters as he leaves the room quickly and I feel the anger return. I run to the door which to my shock he had locked. I scream and pound on the door waiting to be let out. I had no idea how long I had been banging on the door for. When i glanced at the clock i realise it had been hours since i had been thrown in here. I start to move away from the door when i hear shuffling outside.

“We can’t let you out until you calm down Love. She didn’t touch us” Zev finally said quietly through the door. I crawl and press my ear against it, relieved to hear one of their voices, however nothing would stop the anger inside me while the stench of the omega was still hanging in the air. 

“Don’t love me. I knew you were out seeing other Omegas instead of being with Kodan. You Alphas are all the same” i hiss back him. I feel his temper increase and I hear him pull himself off the floor.

“And you are being a typical pain in the ass Omega and not listening” he retorts and he walks away. Realizing I wasn’t going to be let out I return to my den, still seething. I was being a pain in the ass protecting what is mine or will be mine when I’m either marked or pregnant. Whatever comes first.

 

I aimlessly flick through the channels on the TV for a few more hours. House staff delivered me meals and snacks, I wanted to leave but didn’t have the energy to move. The room had everything I needed and a bathroom attached, I was happy in here away from them for a few days. 

I spent 2 days in the den and during that time, I had decided that to be able to keep these men I needed to change my tactic. Yes I was angry, but if I remained the way I was, there was no way they would get close enough for me to even be able to start my plan. I grab my diary which I had hidden in the snug.

‘I will be Luna of this pack, whatever it takes’ I stab into a fresh page. I detail how I was going to use Kodan or Zev to get what I wanted. It may not be safe for me to take Zante and even though he was the one I really wanted to carry the baby of, I had to settle on the next best thing. We had briefly discussed, that once I had produced Zante's heirs, I would then be producing heirs to Kodan and Zev. 

It was only fair their bloodline mixed with mine and created more beautiful strong werewolves. The thought of producing all these heirs aroused and terrified me. This was again something that I had learnt at Omega School. Our main purpose was to make a family and care for them. My main purpose to ensure I never left this place and continued to have all the money I ever needed. I doodle a picture of me pregnant and Kodan placing a kiss on my belly. There was nothing stating that I couldn’t mother the heirs of Kodan and Zev first. Just a rule Zante had told me, I guess to stop this from happening before I have his.

I place my diary back where it was hidden. The door to the snug opens and see Kodan stood in the doorway. I smile at him and peck him on the cheek. The confusion in his face was perfect, but I saw lust flash across his as I trailed my hand across his chest and my scent consumed him. He was so easy to get going, Zev and Zante had a lot more self control.
