Cassandra reached the parking lot and threw herself into her car, and drove off in a frenzy, screeching tires as she left. Weaving in and out of traffic, Cassandra sped toward home with a heavy heart.Once she arrived safely back home, she parked her car and ran inside to the refuge of her little two-bedroom cottage, and threw herself down onto her bed.The tears came fast and hard, flowing freely down her cheeks like waterfalls. Cassandra awoke around noon the next day with a pounding headache and a queasy stomach. The next few days dragged by in a numb haze. But, when Cassandra awoke Friday morning, she finally felt happy about the concert later that evening.Though she still felt so heavy-hearted over heartbreak, she knew going out with Eloise was going to be good for her.She spent the next several hours catching up on her work, returning calls and emails; so that she didn't have to deal with anything work-related once Eloise came over for pre-concert cocktails later that evening.Cassandra took a quick break to make a snack when she heard her text message indicator chime on her phone. The girls took their seats, which were just inches from the stage. Cassandra could see every detail of the opening band's instruments as the stage crew brought them out onto the stage and set everything up. When the band finished up the last song of the show, the crowd went crazy and screamed at their loudest. Cassandra and Eloise were screaming right along with them, this had been such a phenomenal and memorable night, and Cassandra didn't think it could get any better.After the encore, the band members walked up the front of the stage and did their last bows for the night, thanking the crowd.As she realised this was the end of the show, Cassandra felt a sudden feeling of disappointment. It seemed to have flown by so quickly.What were hours, in reality, felt like minutes, and Cassandra wasn't ready to leave this magical place. Cassandra gently stroked Eloise hair, she felt so weak and her call for Ellie could not be heard .
