Wolf in the dungeon

Rain’s POV.

Fear has never felt this strong inside me. I never knew that fear can paralyze someone but now I’ve realized that.

My God, I don’t know who's holding me prisoner in his arms but I can’t even protest as I’m paralyzed by fear.

All I’m vaguely aware of is that the person is carrying me out of the dungeon with rapid steps. His heavy breath wisps through my face.

I bite the inside of my tongue, searching for a means to stop my heart from racing so fast.

We emerge in the woods with the stranger still carrying me. The moon has gone down which means I can’t even see the person’s face.

“Let me go. Stop it!!” Finally finding the strength to agitate, I start bucking in the person’s arms.

Whoever it is should let me go.

Like a wall of resistance, the man refuses to let go. I buck and shriek, spearing my fingers into his skin but it appears useless because the person doesn’t buck.

It takes forever for him to set me down on a fallen tree trunk.

Immediately, I shoot to my feet,
