The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows that danced ominously around the edges of our camp. I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling gnawing at my gut. Amanda should have been back by now. As the pack's Gamma, my senses were always on high alert, but this time, something felt different—something felt wrong. I paced the length of the common room, my mind racing with possibilities, each more unsettling than the last.

Amanda was strong and capable, yet the thought of her alone out there in the growing darkness sent a chill down my spine.
