An intense pain.

As I lay on the cold, hard ground, my vision blurred and the sounds around me dulled, I fought to stay conscious. Each breath was a struggle, each inhale and exhale a battle against the pain that radiated from my stomach. It felt like I had been stabbed, a searing, sharp agony that consumed my entire being.

My hand instinctively pressed against the wound, but I couldn't feel any blood, just an overwhelming emptiness. A hollow sensation that told me something, or someone, had been taken away from me.

"Beatrice," I gasped, my voice barely a whisper. The pain was so intense that it was hard to form words, but I knew I had to communicate what I was feeling. Beatrice was crouched beside me, her face a mask of concern and determination. Her hands moved swiftly, checking my injuries, trying to stabilize me.

"Amanda, hold on," Beatrice urged, her voice steady but laced with urgency. "You're going to be okay. Just stay with me."

"No," I managed to croak out, shaking my head slightly.
