Chapter 43

Aria’s POV

I step out of my apartment, feeling the cool morning air on my skin. Today is the Rogue photoshoot, and excitement buzzes inside me. I put my phone in my pocket and started walking to the subway station.

The city wakes up around me—cars honk, street vendors set up their stalls, and I hear laughter that makes me smile. I was on my own today as Maira had to meet with prospective clients about some other jobs but I could figure it out.

I quickly board the train and halfway there, my phone buzzes. I pull it out and see Caleb’s name. I frown, glancing at the screen. “Not now,” I mutter, dismissing the call and putting the phone back. I don’t want to deal with him today of all days.

When I arrive at the studio, it’s buzzing with activity. Photographers rush around, light meters in hand, while stylists fluff hair and adjust outfits on smiling models. The energy is electric. I take a deep breath, feeling my heart race with excitement.

“Aria, over here!” my stylist calls, waving me
