Emily’s POV

I grip the steering wheel tightly as I drive back to the hospital, the memory of Caleb’s lying face burned into my mind.

“I'll kill him,” I mutter to myself as I pull into the hospital parking lot, I hardly notice the familiar buildings around me. My thoughts are laser-focused on the task ahead. I slam the car door shut behind me and stride inside, my heels echoing against the tiled floor. I need to make things right. Aria deserves the best care, and I won’t settle for anything less.

“Excuse me,” I call out to the receptionist at the front desk, my voice firm. She looks up, startled by the intensity of my gaze.

“Yes, how can I help you?” she asks, her expression shifting from surprise to concern.

“I need to speak with the head of the hospital about transferring Aria to the VIP suite,” I demand, not bothering to soften my tone.

“Uh, the VIP suite?” She blinks at me, clearly unsure. “May I ask why? She’s already receiving—”
