KILLIAN’S POV
I drummed my hands on the table, my eyes scanning the whole surroundings. I was seated in the large meeting room, surrounded by the council members. They all seemed to be engaging in important conversations.
I, who was seated at the head of the round table, was supposed to join in, my mind was somewhere else; Hazel.
She was the only thing, stuck in my mind since last night. I ended up tossing and turning, trying to get some sleep, but she was stuck in my head. I couldn’t help but worry about her, especially since I knew she was rejecting her meals.
At this rate, she might become malnourished. It was infuriating, knowing there was nothing I could do, to get her to eat. Should I use force? I shrugged to myself. That was the only way I knew how to do things, but in Hazel’s case, it has backfired.
When I met her in that hall, I had expected her to leap into my hands and beg for me to take her away, but the look of fear in her eyes unexpected. Were methods wrong? I shook my head. I was going to make her mind, no matter what lengths I’d have to go through.
After all, she belonged to me.
My fingers kept it’s rapid movements absentmindedly. I wanted to see Hazel. I wanted to leave this room and go to her right now. My desire for her grew everyday, and I didn’t know how long I could control myself.
“Alpha, are you even listening to what we are saying?”
One of the elders voice hit me, and brought me back to the present. I. Blinked, and I saw that all their eyes were on me. The elders at the back began to whisper to themselves, and I could already guess what they were talking about.
The elders in front looked at me with disdain and hate in their eyes.
“How are you going to rule this pack, if you have the attention span that rivals that of a child?”
I glared at them, and they suffered from my gaze.
“If you have anything to say, tell them to me right now,” I boomed.
They all looked at each other, as the room fell silent. One of the elders cleared his throat, and rose up from the chair. He was a bitter younger looking than the other elders, and has a few grew strands of hair.
“Alpha, I do think you need to establish some kind of good relationship with your people, the members of this pack. Right now they see you as a tyrant, and will only fear you, instead of love you.”
“And what is wrong there? Is it not better for them to get me? That way, no one will dare to cross me.”
The room fell silent again, before the elder spoke.
“But you see my lord, people will become restless and fearful if you keep up like this. There is a high chance they might start a revolutionary and even try to get you out of power.”
“Elder Makos is right,” Another elder spoke up.
He rose from his chair, and adjusted his horn rimmed glasses. “I think winning the affection of the people should be your top priority now.”
My eyes flickered through each elder, and I scoffed in my mind. It was clear what they were trying to pull. These elders despised me to the core, and my downfall was the only thing that could give them joy.
“And what do you suggest I do?” I asked, as I propped my chin on my hand.
“We would say, go into town and try to socialise. Get to know the people, so they can see how down to earth you are.”
I chuckled. Their ploy was as clear as day. They knew I was incapable of getting anyone to love me, and the way I handled everything was through violence. This was an obvious tactics to make me look bad in front of the members of the pack.
I nodded at them. “I will take you up on that offer, and go into town today, meeting adjourned.”
All the elders shuffled to their feet as the whole room was filed with murmuring. I didn’t wait for any of them to say a word to me, as I zoomed out of the room. I had one destination in mind, and that was to see Hazel.
With hastened steps I made my way to the basement at the further end of the pack house and climbed down into it. I walked up to the door, and the guards stood there. Once they saw me, they bowed.
I ignored them, as I was very much eager to see Hazel. I undid the lock, my heart racing. But when I swung the door open, I was met with an empty room. It felt like a blow to my face, realising that Hazel was not here.
She has escaped.
I snapped my head to the guard and grabbed him by the neck.
“Where the hell is she,” I growled, baring my fangs.
“I-I don’t know, I didn’t see or here her escape! I swear on my life alpha!”
I growled and slammed him to the ground. I made a U turn, and began to make my way out of Basement. This area was surrounded by bushes, and a large forest, which was hard to navigate through, unless you has experience and familiarity, with the terrain.
She couldn’t have gone far.
I bolted out of the basement and towards the broad forest. I scanned the whole area, my eyes sharp, and my ears alert. I heard the sound of crunching leaves and my eyes snapped to the direction. Just there, in the middle of tall trees, I caught a glimpse of Hazel, desperately trying to push herself through some thick bushes.
I smirked, making my hand into a circle over my mouth.
“Better run as fast as you can, because I’ll catch you!”
My voice echoed through the forest and I noticed the way she flinched. Her head snapped back, and once our eyes met, she went pale. She began to make a run for it, but I couldn’t help but laugh at her feeble attempt to get away from me.
I bolted forward and in no time, I was directly behind her. Hazel looked back and horror was etched on her face.
“Leave me alone, you monster!” she shrieked like I had dug my claws into her neck.
I continued the chase for a while, as I enjoyed seeing hee run away from me, like her life depended in it. After a while, I bolted forward and stood in front of her. She came to halt and was about to turn the other way, when I grabbed her arm.
She began to struggle, but my grip was stronger. I picked her and placed her on my shoulder.
“Put me down! I want nothing to do with you! I do not want to be here! Take me home!”
I ignored her cries and complains, as I walked back to the basement. I reached the door to the room, kicking it open. I threw Hazel to the floor and she let out a small yelp. I pointed at her, as she gazed at me with fear and anger, in her eyes.
“Do not pull this stupid stunt next time, or it won’t be pleasant,” I said firmly.
I slammed the door shut and began to lock it up. I ignored the way she banged on the door, and the way she kept yelling at me to open it back up. My eyes switched to the guard, who lowered his head.
“If you speak of this to anyone, I will cut that tiny little manhood of yours and feed it to the pigs. Do you understand?”
He nodded frantically. “Y-Yes alpha,” He swallowed.
I grunted and made my way out of the basement. It was just the middle of the day, and I was already feeling exhausted. I decided to have a quick nap, before I continue attending to pack duties.
I walked back into the pack house through the back door, and I made sure no one saw me. I made my way up the stairs, and cut into a hallway. Just by the left, I could hear muffled voices. I was about to walk by, but then, I heard my name, loud and clear.
I paused, dead in my tracks and began to listen in on what they were saying.
“That Killian, he is not fit to be our ruler! How can we let this happen!”
“I agree with you. How can we let someone who killed his father, and took the title of alpha rule us? He is a murderer for heavens sakes!”
These voices were painfully familiar. It was the elders and I recognised each of their voices.
“I do not like this one bit, we have to do something about it, or else, it will-“
I appeared in front of them, and once they looked up at me, all their faces went pale.
“You need to be more careful,” I scoffed, “The walls have ears.”
And with that, I walked away from them.
HAZEL’S POV“Get your ass out of bed!”The loud voice roused me up from my slumber. My eyes snapped open, and I could feel my body ache. I was laying on the cold floor, and I could see a shadow hovering over me. My eyes move upwards, and it fell on three unfamiliar faces. They were girls, each of them wearing maid outfits.I pushed myself up into a sitting position as I rubbed my eyes.“What is it? What do you all want?”“What kind of dumb question is that?” One of them sneered.“It is time for training,” Another added.I blinked at the, disbelief. “What?”“Are you deaf? Or do you not understand simple englishm do I have to repeat myself again?”I stared at them in awe and bewilderment. As if I was not already confused that they had marched in here and woken me up forcefully, now they were spouting some shit about training.“Why do I have to train?” I asked.“Because everyone does that, every morning. It is a compulsory exercise and since you are now in this pack, you must attend it.
HAZEL’S POVThe loud banging on the door, roused me up from my slumber. I blinked in the dimly lit room and my eyes trailed to the window, only to see that the sun had disappeared from the sky and the moon has taken it’s place.Just how long had I fallen asleep? My stomach grumbled and I realised, I missed lunch. I let out a heavy sigh, as I used my fingers to run through my hair. The heavy banging came on the door again, making me jolt back.“It is time for dinner. Come out or dinner will be over soon.”At the sound of dinner, my stomach rumbled again. I picked myself up from the floor and made my way to the door. Once I was out of the room, and in the hallway I froze. The whole place was crowded with maids, who were rushing towards the dining hall.I inserted myself into the crowd, and followed them to the dinning hall. They all rushed in, most of them bumping into me and almost knocking me over. I kept my balance as my eyes were fixed on the direction they were running to.Right pa
KILLIAN’S POVPaperwork, paperwork, and more paperwork. That was the only thing I had been doing since last night. I scratched my head as I gazed at the piles and heaps of documents in front of me. I tapped my pen on the table, feeling irritated that I had to sit here and do all of this work.I wasn’t the type to sit down in a chair like some office worker and attend to papers that I knew nothing about. I groaned and pushed aside the papers in front of me. I laid my head back on the chair, and I began to twirl it around. The reason why this work has piled up so much, was because I was intentionally neglecting it. I spent less time in the office, than I did in other places. The only reason I had come back to it, was because, I needed a distraction from the thoughts that sought to consume me.Hazel.She was on my mind all day and all night, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the special plan I had for her. My plan for revenge against her seemed to be going smoothly, but the cost of that
HAZEL’S POVThe loud incessant banging on my door roused me up from my sleep, once again. As i rubbed my tired eyes, anger began to rise up within me. This had to be a daily routine. Could no one wake me up properly?I sighed, pushing myself up from the hard concrete ground, and groggily standing up. My body felt like it had been battered by a plank, but it didn’t feel as bad as it normally did. Was I getting used to sleeping on the cold concrete floor? My heart sank, a silent sigh leaving my lips. Was I getting used to living like a prisoner? The thought made me grimace. The rapt knocking came again, but this time it sounded softer. Had they known I was awake? I trudged up to the door and swung it open, ready to lash out at whoever was there, but when my eyes fell on three maids holding what looked like a ball gown, I was left speechless.“What the hell is this?” I asked, an eyebrow raised. The pushed me to the side and let themselves in. I stumbled back, gripping the wall until I wa
HAZEL’S POVThe carriage rattled underneath me, as I sat, two guards sandwiched between me. The first feeling I had was of fear, and anxiety, of what was to come. I was getting auctioned? What was going to happen to me? I was clueless on that, but I knew my life would be a much more living hell that it was when I was with Killian. We rode down the streets of the not so busy town, and my eyes caught a glimpse of a few passers by. If I was in a better emotional state, I would’ve had time to relish in the scenery. I looked back down to myself, to the dress I had been forced to wear and I felt utterly disgusted.I was being dressed, to please men, it sickened me.It didn’t take long before the carriage came to a halt, and the doors swung open. The guards pulled me out harshly, and it took all my strength to avoid myself from tumbling down to the ground.I looked up and my eyes landed on a building. It was painted in a darker shade of red, and has glass doors. Men, old men, who had large b
KILLIAN’S POVSmall bubbles formed at the top of the water, before they disappeared. I stared at it, my eyes wide as there were no movements. Had I pushed her in too deep? Could she even swim? I hadn’t thought about all of this, before I acted impulsively. But why should I care?I tried to ignore the fact that she was still submerged in the water, but it was hard to shake it off. I found myself slowly making my way to the way, my heart racing as I desperately searched for any signs of movement.Just as I was at the very beginning of the river, the water splashed and Hazel emerged from it. She was gasping cod air and flapping her hand around as she tried to start afloat. I couldn’t help but stiffle a chuckle at how comical she looked. Her hair was glued to her face and she snapped her head around, in a desperate attempt to look for me. I covered my mouth as I couldn’t hold the laughter in any longer.“What the hell is funny!? Huh? Is this funny to you?!” She yelled from where she staye
HAZEL’S POVMy eyes fluttered open, and they were met with an unfamiliar ceiling. The smell of antiseptic hit my nose, and I tried to figure out where on earth I was. There was a reoccurring sound in a background, a little beeping that resounded every second. My eyes scanned the area in front of me, and there was nothing, just a white wall and some white tiles. My eyes travelled further down to my body and I saw that I was laying on a bed, my lower body draped in a white cloth.I snapped my head to the side, and found the source of the beeping noises. It was a small machine, that had numbers in it, and a line that moved according to the beeping. Just at the corner of my eyes, I noticed a bag, and looked up at it.It was transparent, and had a liquid it in. That was when I both the needle, infused on my hand, and it has a pipe that was connected to the bag. My body ran cold. Was I on a drip?I tried to push myself up from the bed, but my head began to pound loudly, and my arms began to
HAZEL’S POVI couldn’t move, no matter how much I struggled. I could feel the heat of his body, so close to mine. His musky scent filled my nose, and for some reason, it wasn’t unpleasant.Killian opened up the bottle and pulled out a pill. He held it up to my mouth. “Open your mouth,” He said in a soft, yet demanding tone.I found my lips quivering, and I gave in. I opened up my mouth slowly and he threw the pill in. I was forced to swallow, as the bitter taste hit my mouth. I cringed, as the bitter taste spread across my tongue.“Good, you actually listened to me today,” He let out a throaty chuckle. Our eyes met and we gazed at each other for what felt like an eternity. His eyes were dark, and void, there was also something mysterious about the way he looked at me. I couldn’t read him, or know what was going through his head. His gaze was different today however. There was not a single icy glint in his orbs, and for a moment, I saw a flash of desire course through them. My cheeks f
HazelI woke up to the sensation of something wet grazing my legs. My initial grogginess gave way to alertness, and I opened my eyes to see Killian between my thighs, his tongue tracing lazy circles on my skin. His eyes locked onto mine, and he smirked, his signature look that never failed to send shivers running marathon down my spine.“Good morning, beautiful,” he murmured, his voice deep and husky.“Killian,” I breathed, feeling a flush of heat spread through me. “What are you doing?”“What does it look like?” he replied with a mischievous glint in his eye. “I’m starting my day off right, with you.”“Wh-wh-what?”“That’s right, princess, I’m hungry.”“But I haven’t taken my bath yet!” I say weakly trying to squeeze myself away from him. Deep down I don’t want to. I want to stay right there, positioned at the place that would be most comfortable for him to eat the fuck out of me.He lowered his head and resumed his ministrations, his tongue teasing the sensitive skin of my inner thi
Killian's POVMeanwhile, Hazel returned home, exhausted from her journey. She met Celeste on her way to her room, and they talked about how bad it was to have hated me all these years. Even though she didn't know what her father did to me, she was sure it must have been terrible for me to deserve that. They decided to talk better the next day because Hazel was tired and sleepy. At least that’s all I know from what my wolf picked up from listening in on the walls. She crept into the bedroom, not wanting to disturb me, but as she approached, she noticed I was having a nightmare. My eyes were closed tightly, but my face was twisted in anguish.Hazel's heart went out to me. She gently sat beside me and stroked my hair, trying to calm me down. I murmured her name, my voice barely audible."Hazel...please..."Hazel's touch seemed to soothe me, and I slowly woke up. My eyes locked onto hers, filled with deep sadness."I'm sorry," I whispered through my tears. "I didn't mean to..." I don’t cr
LUCAS POV"My son, you should know by now that I have your best interest in heart. I'm sure that both of you will make a wonderful couple" Alpha Fenrir said with a corny and warm smile while I controlled the urge to snort at him in anger." This is not our agreement, you told me that I'll get married to Hazel not this wolf less, weak and lowly daughter of yours! " I snapped trying to control the anger coursing through my veins."I know that I promised you that you'll get married to Hazel but I just realized that hazel won't be a great Luna and I'm sure that you want a great Luna who will love you and bear your offsprings " he replied with a grin that looked so fake that I felt like a fool for trusting this man so much up till this extent."I don't understand why you're doing this. You say one thing, but your actions say another. Why can't you stop been this way? It fucks me up!" I yelled at his faceThe alpha's smile faltered, revealing a snarl. "How dare you question me, Lucas! I'm y
LUCAS"Talk?” Fenrir asked with a raised eyebrow. "What do you mean talk? Haven't you accepted Diana as your mate?”Lucas clenched his fists."Maybe I'm too late with this decision but all of your tyranny ends - here and now!”The guests began to move uncomfortably in their seats. An elderly man stood up from his chair."Can we go on with the wedding, Lucas? You can settle whatever dispute it is later on. Just let things be. Whatever the issue is, the truth will out on its own.”Lucas turned with searching eyes to see the person who had just spoken."Then the truth will out now.” He turned back to Fenrir. "You are Diana's father!” His voice bounced off the walls as silence fell on the guests. Gasps of horror came from various angles. Diana began to hyperventilate. Diana's mother jolted in shock and closed her eyes as the shame of the unexpected revelation washed over her.Fenrir braced himself though he was taken by surprise at Lucas' announcement.“Slander! You have no proof of that,
HAZEL“Wait! Stop! Stop!"The guests began to murmur among themselves as the bride made her way to the front. Lucas looks her over again and his wolf is unsettled.“What is it?" He whispers to his wolf.“She doesn't have a wolf. I can't sense her."Then it dawned on Lucas. What's this all about? Has he tricked me? Just then, Diana looked up, suddenly feeling a pang of guilt as her face colored in embarrassment behind her veil.“Is anything the problem, my lord?" She asked Lucas in a shaky voice. But Lucas' gaze was far from fixed on her. He had his eyes on Fenrir. This game of his wasn't worth putting his best foot forward and he showed his lowly regard for him by giving Diana to him in marriage. Well played.Fenrir, who stood at the back of the hall, had a sly smile playing out on his lips with a glint of amusement in his eyes. Of course, Lucas couldn't miss this but he couldn't play smartass here.Diana's mother began to panic.“What's going on?" She whimpered to no one in particula
Hazel"Margaret!" her mother screamed again. I ran in the direction of the screams, even as Ophelia yelled my name and Celeste pulled me towards herself."Oomph," I muffled a groan as my nose made contact with Celeste's collarbone."Are you insane? What are you doing?" Ophelia asked as she reached me. I pulled my head away from Celeste and glared at her."Margaret," I gasped out to Ophelia once Celeste lowered her eyes. "She's a little girl I met a few days ago. I walked her home. I need to find her."Celeste let go of me and folded her arms across her chest. "Forgive me," she said with hard eyes. "But there is no way I’d let you go anywhere. Didn't you hear anything I said?"I rolled my eyes and looked at her. "Yes, I heard you. But there's a little girl out there. Do you want me to just forget and not even try to find her?" I could feel the anger bubbling inside."What I believe she's trying to say," Ophelia placed a hand on my shoulder, calming me instantly, "is that we need to thi
DianaI suddenly turned around and placed my hands behind my back to stop myself from biting my fingers. “There she is,” my mother said, smiling. She gestured for me to follow just after her.“Go,” Riley said as she pushed me inside after my mother, causing me to nearly stumble when I caught the face of my father in the kitchen. My father's hands were behind his back. Very briefly, he glanced at me.“She’s beautiful,” my father said. He paused for a moment. “One more thing,” he said just as he was about to walk away. “He must not know. Then again, it doesn’t really matter to me if he finds out or not. This marriage must take place. Do you hear me?” My father asked, glaring at me, his eyes glowing just a little bit.Werewolf tricks don’t work on me, I wanted to say, but I kept my mouth shut. The last thing I wanted was to have all my plans ruined because of my big mouth. I watched him as he turned to my mother and shot her a small smile that seemed to light her up. Suddenly, she didn’t
DianaI could tell he hated me. In fact, I could tell he probably hated all his daughters, at least the ones he knew of."I have good news."I turned away from my window and looked at my mother."What now?" I turned to look at the now wrinkled face of my mother. I remembered her looking so young, but now I changed my mind."Your father picked you." She came and caressed my face."For what?" I shrugged out of her touch, as had become a habit recently."Oh, come on," she said, shooing me away. "You know you want your father to look at you in some way, and now he has. So, he picked you.""To do what?" I scoffed. The woman didn't see this, though she was listening. She turned around my room, talking about how lucky I was to be the one that my father remembered."Are we talking about the same person who doesn’t even know my name or yours?" I raised my eyebrows at her. She stopped her pacing and then turned to me."That's rude." She pointed a finger in my direction. "We both knew it was goi
Hazel"It's not as easy as you make it sound," my maid said in a soft whisper that caused both Ophelia and me to turn to her. "I thought of him as a good man for you. Hearing this now just feels like a stab. You might as well just kill me." She rolled her eyes, got up, and left briefly, returning with a cup of tea. I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding once I saw her coming back into the room."What?" She placed the cup on the table and stared at both of us."I thought you walked out on us. I thought you were angry," Ophelia said."I was. But now I'm not so much. Besides, everybody has to move on at some point." She added as she sat down and took a sip of the cup before reeling in shock and pouring everything back into the glass. "That is disgusting," she announced as she wiped her chin."Only because you don't know how to make a proper cup of tea," Ophelia remarked and marched straight into the kitchen. I simply stared at my maid, thinking about her words."What?" she a
