Because I chose divorce twice?

Impossible.

That was the one thing he drilled into me repeatedly—no matter what, I had to follow the script.

Thinking it over, the only explanation was that he was doing this for the show.

Hector wore his usual composed smile as he handed me the spoon. "This is the first bowl of oatmeal I’ve ever made. Try it."

I remained indifferent, unmoved by everything he did. I barely even spoke to him. I couldn't quite understand why his change had come so suddenly. But I couldn't be bothered to ask, or even to think about it. I simply... had no interest. The calmness in my heart was something I’d forged through countless sleepless nights. Now, it became the impenetrable armor that protected me. God was being fair. He didn’t just drop blessings from the sky, and he didn’t let me suffer for no reason. We shared a roof, but it felt like we were strangers. He stubbornly and slowly, worked toward something. His eyelashes fluttered slightly as he forced a bitter smile. "Not even willing to call me by my name anymore?"For a while, you refused to see me or take my calls. We've been married. Are you really going to be this resolute?"This divorce is a result of circumstances, Suzy. Just give me some time, okay? I’ll win you back—" He stopped mid-sentence, his gaze widening in surprise. I was suddenly removing my gloves and rolling up my sleeves. First, my down jacket, then my sweater, until my bare arm was exposed. He stood there, frozen and confused. I extended my arm in front of him. "Look, I’m getting red spots on my skin." He glanced at me, puzzled, not understanding what I meant. I spoke calmly, my tone even. "Every time you speak, these red spots appear on my skin. I went to the doctor. He said it’s an allergy, and the best way to manage it is to eliminate the trigger."So, Mr. Sinclair, please don’t say things like that anymore. I can’t accept them, not physically
