Gwen’s POV

By the time I had just managed to get back to my room, I was hit with exhaustion like a tidal wave. I was treading very carefully, and my heart raced to each creak of the floorboards beneath my feet.

I had seen something she should not have, that creature emerging into Nora and such a sight, was enough to shake me to my core. The urge to share my discovery with Alpha Blake had taken me that far, but now, alone in my room, the full weight of what I had seen crashed down on me.

I locked the door behind me and leaned against it, fighting to regulate my breathing, as I kept taking deep breaths. My mind replayed the scene from that nightmare, the creature's grotesqueness taking form into Nora's figure.

It was vivid, detailed, and haunting. I shivered and wrapped my arms around myself, a futile attempt to ward off the chill that seemed to seep into the very marrow of my bones.
