Gwen's POV There was a knock on the door after a while and Blake turned to the door after pecking me in the forehead. “Yes, come in!" He called out to the person and the door opened to reveal Bera Felix who bowed at the two of us. “What is it?" Blake asked him."It's time for the meeting with the cabinet and council of elders! There is an urgent matter to be deliberated on!” He informed him as Blake looked at his wristwatch and opened his mouth at the rate at which the time had gone. “Okay, I will be there after a while. Just gather everyone for the meeting, I will meet you there!" He said to Vera Felix, dismissing him. “What is the meeting about?" I asked him after Beta Felix had left the room. “It is just on the issues of the pack and that needs to be addressed!” He said to me. "As much as I don't want to go, I have to go as the Alpha of the pack!” He said, getting up from where he sat on the bed beside me. He gently leaned in and kissed me on the forehead before giving me a
Blake’s POVI barely had time to catch my breath when my Beta, Felix burst into my chamber, his face a mask of concern. "Alpha Blake, we have a situation," he said, his voice steady but urgent.I looked up, my brows furrowing and my eyes narrowing. "What is it now?"I said"The guards have just reported another strange movement at the pack gate. This time, it seems more serious," my Beta Felix replied, handing me a hastily written report. My eyes skimmed the paper, my expression darkening further with every word I read. "Summon the elders immediately," I ordered. "We must rectify this before things get worse. My Beta Felix nodded and left to go do as I had ordered. I stood to my feet, the weight of leadership settling heavily on me. My eyes turned toward the chamber where Gwen lay, still recovering from the recent attack. The memory of her scalded skin burned brightly in my mind once more. I would do whatever it took to protect my pack, my Luna.A few minutes later, I entered the c
Gwen’s POVI could sense the tension, right from the time Alpha Blake entered my room, despite his effort to appear composed. I noticed the subtle signs that all was not alright, the subtle tightening of the edges of his eyes, the slight hunch in his shoulders, and the forced calm in his voice when he spoke."How did it go? The meeting?" I asked, trying to sound casual and lighten up the room.Alpha Blake smiled, but I noticed it didn't reach his eyes. "It went fine. Just the usual discussions about security and patrols."He said sighing a bit too loud. I raised an eyebrow, not buying his nonchalant response. "Alpha Blake, I can tell something's bothering you. You don't have to hide it from me."Alpha Blake sighed again, running a hand through his hair. "I don't want to burden you with pack matters, Gwen. You're still recovering."I'm stronger than I look," I said, my voice firm. "And I want to help. Please, just tell me what's going on."I watched Alpha Blake closely. I could see
Gwen’s POVMy mind was a whirlwind of doubts, resolution, and determination. I knew I had to inform Alpha Blake about my suspicions regarding Nora. The safety of the pack depended on transparency, even if it would mean creating tension between us. At last, I summoned up enough nerve and courage to face Alpha Blake.Scenarios of how Alpha Blake would react raced through my mind. Yes, I knew Alpha Blake was a man who valued loyalty and honesty above anything else, but this was about his close friend Nora. The relationship and bond between Alpha Blake and Nora were complicated, and I feared the repercussions of my revelation, but I had to say something because not saying anything kept making me feel uneasy.I glanced towards Alpha Blake where he sat at the window, he seemed lost in thought. His eyes were distant, portraying clearly the commotion and turmoil within him. I took a deep breath and coughed slightly to bring back his mind and announce my presence because I felt like he
Gwen’s POVI finally wrenched myself free from Alpha Blake's grasp. My patience was finally boiling over. "You know what, Alpha Blake? I really don't care whether you believe me or not. But you need to keep a closer eye on the friend you believe so much."Alpha Blake's eyes widened at my harsh tone. "Gwen, it's not that I don't trust you—""Isn't it?" I cut him off, shaking as I spoke. "You're more willing to believe that I'm wrong or I'm seeing things than to consider that Nora might not be who she says she is."Alpha Blake sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's not about believing or not believing. It is about needing proof before I can act. If you accuse Nora of this crap without evidence, it could bring chaos within the pack. You really need to be sure."I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. "I don’t understand that. But while you're waiting for proof, she could be plotting something terrible. Can't you at least promise me you'll keep an eye on her?" the person yo
Blake’s POVI paced back and forth across my chamber as my mind rebelled with thoughts racing within me. I kept replaying the conversation I had with Gwen, her words echoing in the quiet room. She had been so sure, so adamant about what she had seen. Yet, I found myself grappling with doubt. Could Nora, someone I had known and trusted for so long, be involved in something so sinister?I stopped at the window, looking out over the moonlit grounds. The pack grounds were quiet, but I didn't feel anything in the serenity. My mind couldn't seem to rid itself of the image of Gwen's serious expression and the pain in her eyes when I dismissed her concerns. I hadn't intended to hurt her, but the accusation against Nora seemed just so outlandish, so unlike her.My thoughts strayed back to the past, my times with Nora. We had practically grown up together, we had fought through endless battles together. She had always been there for him, a solid friend, a strong and true friend. The thought
Gwen's POV I had been discharged and sent to my room so when I woke this morning, I laid in bed for a while as I looked at the way of morning light that came in through the curtain. I sat up then inspected my leg and was surprised that it was completely healed, the area was just darker than my usual skin and the pain that came with it was gone. But I knew the darkness was going to go out after a while, moving the leg cane with no struggle or pain and I was glad for that. I got out of bed without any discomfort and even matched, there was no pain. I couldn't do this before but this will give me the ground to move as I have wanted and get those things I want sorted out. The door opened as Aurelia and another maid walked into the room with a warm smile as they bowed at me immediately after they got to my side. “Good morning, my lady! How was your night?" She greeted and asked as the lady beside her bowed again. "Good morning Aurelia! I am good as you can see!” I replied with a smile
Gwen's POV I spent the morning in my room reading the books I picked from the library and after a while, I thought it was best to use this moment when I show Nora by the garden. I had noticed that most times when she stepped out of her room, before she was back in it was till dusk or late evening. My maids were in the room as they brought me some snacks earlier and just decided to stay and arrange my closet. I stood up and walked up to them. “You can both leave, I think I need to rest as I was feeling tired!" I explained to them as they nodded in understanding and bowed before walking out of the closet towards the door when I stopped them.“Wait up! Do you think Alpha Blake is back?” I asked them as they exchanged looks and nodded negatively. "I am not sure as I am not certain if he is back!” Aurelia replied sincerely as she thought deeply but nothing. "I am not sure also but before coming here about five minutes ago, I saw Beta Felix walking into the building!” Elara uttered, loo
