Anastasia's POV.“Not this clown again.” Lady Luxina groaned, dropping her book by her side and running her hand over face in a frustrated manner.“Come on now, aren't you dying to see my face after your long months of travel?” The male voice outside asked. I couldn't see a silhouette of a man standing just at the entrance to the wagon.Muttering disgruntled words inaudibly, Lady Luxina slowly turned and opened the drapes. A broad smile instantly filled her face.“Hmm, if it isn't the one and only gamma Gordon.” She said as she alighted the wagon. I had a split second view of the man in question. He was a tall built man with thick black hair. I couldn't take in the rest of him before the drapes obstructed my view.“I know you're not pleased to see me.” Came the voice of the man from outside.According to Luxina, he was the gamma of this pack. Usually, even though they are third in rank of the werewolf hierarchy, they still had a significant amount of power in each of their respective
Anastasia's POV.I was busy watching the coming and going of various people going about their own business while following Lady Luxina behind. Their mode of dressing was different from the way people were dressed in the Westlands- something that shouldn't be a surprise. The castle’s compound was filled with various fancy wagons and exotic horses. All of which were being tended to by different women. There was a part of the compound that had a large fountain, it was so large I initially thought it was a geyser.Another corner of the massive compound was the training ground where I sighted bare chested men sparring with each other while some others watched from different angles. The whole compound was blooming with activities, it was so lively.I was soon deprived of gazing around when we entered the castle itself. Believe me when I tell you it was like entering into a paradise. It was like the ceiling would never end but it did, only that it was just so high up.Beautiful chandeliers h
Anastasia's POV.As I was told, once I left the Alpha’s chambers, I headed straight for the storeroom where Lady Luxina had met with Sheryl earlier. But when I arrived there, I met no one. Oh now what do I do? I had no idea where else she could be. This part of the castle alone was like a giant maze to me. I could easily get lost in it! Even though I knew she was in charge of the kitchens, I knew not where that was located.Maybe I should ask around? A thought seeped into my mind. That should be the most logical thing to do in this situation. But I had cold feet, what if I get ignored or laughed at? Damn, why are you doing like this, Ana? I reprimanded myself as I sucked in some courage and walked out of the store room. The hall was like a public market, lots of people were roaming about, all busying themselves with various activities. I took a deep breath and walked towards a young female who was busy scrubbing the floor with a brush.“Excuse me,” I called politely, hoping she'd retu
Anastasia's POV.These ladies were bad news. I could tell just by the way Ginny was glaring daggers at them. Although, deep in her eyes, one could still notice the hunt of fear that lingered within.Bullies. Why do they always have to exist in every pack I come across? Especially in the workforce like this. Back in my home pack, I was bullied, in Nightshade pack, I was also bullied. Now here, I haven't even spent a day here yet I was already encountering them.No. I refuse, I refuse to be bullied again. I do not have to always be at the bottom of the food chain.“I think I have already been welcomed by Mistress Sheryl. Ginny and I will be going on our way now.” I said, hoping to dismiss them and cancel whatever was to ensue in this meeting. But as I grabbed Ginny’s wrist and took a few steps forward to leave, my path was obstructed by one of the ladies.“We're afraid this welcoming is customary as well as compulsory.” She said with a smirk spreading on her lips. She crossed her arms a
Anastasia's POV."Get your filthy hands off me!" I bellowed at the guards that struggled to push me into the cell. Its not like I can't walk in on my own."Stay put, you piece of garbage!" One of them snarled back. They didn't even listen to me by letting me go. They dragged me with my chains into the cell and I couldn't help but fall down.I groaned in pain of crashing into the stone filled ground but the guards didn't even bst an eyelid at me."The Alpha – your grandfather – has ordered us to make sure to deal with you mercilessly." The senior guard amongst the two said, a sickening grin spreadinv across his lips.I didn't fail to notice the scorn in his tone, especially when he tried to remind me of my grandfather's hatred towards me."And trust me when I say I'd do that with full joy, especially when it's going to be my last time doing it before I move to my new position." He said again, bursting into a sick round of laughter, exposing his yellow teeth as a result.Captain Shiro .
"I've had it with your intolerable behavior in this pack!" Grandfather roared at me.I was seated in a chair in his office, grateful that he didn't make me to stand because my thighs were killing me terribly. I would need to dress them properly soon."You ..." Grandfather's voice bellowed, "I'm going to make sure you get sold to the Nightshade pack, you'll see!" He said in fury, his blond brows were furrowed and his eyes were etched with hatred. The Nightshade pack? No ..."Grand – I mean, your highness, please, you can't send me there ..." I pleaded with him, leaning forward from my chair."Silence! You have caused enough troubles for us in this pack, your behavior is just so disastrous that your presence is becoming a plague!" He declared at the top of his voice.I gulped in a lump of saliva and sunk back into he chair. He also relaxed into his bigger chair, rubbing his fingers on his temple. "If only your parents were here ..." He sighed, shutting his eyes momentarily. There we go
The Nightshade pack is well known for their unmatched influence in the whole of the Westlands, which is one of the most prolific continents amongst the four. They were also well known for their ruthless battle sense – easily taking their enemies and subduing them – and then they put them through the most horrible kind of situations afterwards. And that wasn't all, rumours have been flying around recently that illegal street fights and duels were popular in Nightshade pack. And of course, these duels often lead to deaths – gruesome and unpleasant ones at that.Hence, Nightshade pack isn't somewhere one would want to wake and meet themselves in. But as fate would have it, that's where I am being sold to.I knew grandfather must have had to write that I was his granddaughter for them to come. Nightshade wasn't the kind of pack to be seduced by a slave trade offer of only one single slave."Move it, you slug!" One of the guards from my own pack snarled behind me before pushing me forward
"Rise!" A new voice bellowed in the hall, and everyone stood and scrambled to their feets.Of course, we all tried to get a view of the infamous Alpha but he was surrounded by several men, probably his beta and some guards.Murmurs were echoing in the hall and it now took a strong will from the guards to keep us mute. The Alpha cleared his throat and it seemed to be amplified by something. Everyone could now see him, including myself. What? With the way my Asian 'friend' had explained his attributes, I was expecting to see a middle aged ugly and grumpy looking giant. But standing before us all was just a young, – probably in his mid twenties like myself – overly handsome, averagely built and sexy looking man.He was nothing like the description I had received. But – how ...how can someone of such beauty be so gruesome and cold hearted?"As most of you might have heard of, I am Sirius Night, Alpha of the Nightshade pack." He said, his voice was like the most beautiful song I have ever
