"What's wrong?" Matt was the first to notice my subtle mood swings. "You don't look so happy as you were walking in here."

I met his eyes and looked away. I didn't have any answer to that question. I did but I didn't want to lie.

"Why does your friend always have that attitude?" I whispered so no one else could hear.

He didn't need to glance at Dane to know he was the one I actually was speaking of.

"What did he do now?" His eyes lit up amusedly.

"Do I still have that runt energy?" I asked, sounding unsure.

"You're a strong she-wolf, his attitude might not even be about you." He stroked Fihl's cheeks when he yawned.

"I think he's hungry," I suggested. "Or maybe tired of being held that way."

"You're going to train with him this evening." Matt cocked his head in the golden-haired dude's direction.

I glanced his way only to meet his blue eyes, and instantly, my gaze dropped back to my son.
