That evening when Harold, Wilkes and Trisha were to leave the canteen and head back to their different dormitory before the curfew, Wade and Trisha's roommate, Nora, were no where to be seen.
“Where did they go?” Wilkes asked as the three of them stood by the entrance, looking through the glass, their eyes searching for the duo. It was like Wade and Nora didn't exist and the three of them were demented.
“I doubt they've gone far from here,” Harold replied.
“I think they're you know, doing what adults do.” She winked at the both of them and they understood her instantly.
That seemed the likeliest reason as to why they weren't around.
“That's a good thing for us, though,” Wilkes said and stepped out of the cafeteria
Harold and Trisha did the same thing.
On the outside, the three of them looked all around, turning a total of three sixty degrees whilst squintin
That night, Trisha found it difficult to sleep.Things were going badly for the boys but in no way was she in a better predicament than they were in. In fact, she was in a worse one.The boys could have sound sleep because there was no way Wade could get to them since he, Wade, was in a different room but she was in the same as Nora.If Nora felt like it, she could stab her to death whilst sleeping and escape before morning. Trisha doubted that will happened but if it did, she was gone. The thoughts that it could be her last night if she closed her eyes for as much as a millisecond her discomfort. She sighed as the door to her dormitory opened, without doubt, she knew it was Nora. She wrapped her sweaty palm around her wand tighter which was tucked in her blanket. She had no plans on using it, but if Nora tried anything funny, she wasn't going to hesitate to blast her till her c
The next morning, Wilkes Milton woke up an hour almost before Harold did. While Harold slept, he bath, prepared for school and made a breakfast of waffles and honey. Unlike Harold, he had brought food stuffs which he could prepare easily.“Rise and shine, sleepyhead,” he told Harold as he placed one arm on his shoulder and shook him.On the bed, Harold groaned, muttered nonsense, turned to the other side and drifted off to sleep.Wilkes found that amusing and wouldn't have traded seeing Harold that way for anything else.Usually, Harold was the first to wake up but he had been so tired last night he didn't on time.He leaned close to Harold's ear which was sheathed by his hair and whispered, “Waffles is ready and with it, there's a fruit juice.”Harold groaned softly and Wilkes knew he had heard him. “Let's keep on walking,” Harold said to Wilkes briefly.Like nothing had happened, they both began walking to the Generals Building. They walked alongside scores of students headed in the same direction but even as they did, they knew they only had each other. The other students were as good as foes.“Do you think he saw me with Max?” He asked as they rounded a corner that showed the Generals Building afar off.Beside it were the special building for werewolves like Harold, Vampires like Wilkes and enchanters like Trisha.“I'm not too sure,” Wilkes answered. “But I guess he did.”Suddenly, Harold stopped on his tracks. “There's only one way to get the answers I seek,” he said then spun around. For some seconds after, his eyes searched for Wade's face. It seemed like the moment Harold stopped moving, he had hidden because he didn't want to be seen. After about ten seconds, Harold stopped his burnt lips behind a group of students.
“What class do you have first?” Wilkes asked both Trisha and Harold.“Flight Erudition known casually as FE,” Trisha responded.Wilkes eyes widened.“Do you know what that means?!” he asked, barely able to keep his excitement to himself.“No,” Harold drawled.“Trisha will be taught to fly using a broom!” he said, louder than he intended to.“I won't exactly be taught to,” Trisha said.“What do you mean?”“I'd been able to fly a broom since I was nine. I'll simply be wasting my time in the class when I'd rather be consumed in a book.”“Good old Trisha,” Harold said with a grin. “Golden Lake's very own genius.”“There's no need for flattery,” Trisha said although she liked that they showered her with praises.Wilkes turned to look at Harold.“How about you? What do you have now?”
At the end of the class, ‘Werewolf’, Harold was able to relate with what Trisha had said about attending a class being a total waste of time.Maybe it was because he had gone on the contest and had become a little familiar with his wolf, what he had been taught was what he knew already. The lecturer whom Harold had come to know as Professor Harry, went onto talk about the hierarchy of wolves in their packs. He started with Alpha and gave a vivid description of how they are, oblivious that Harold's father was one and all things being normal, he was meant to be ascend the position next. When he was done talking on Alphas, he talked a little on the characteristics an Alpha's wife, a Luna, was meant to possess. When he was done, he spoke on the Betas and spent another fifteen minutes talking on Deltas. By the time he reached subtopic ‘Omega’, the class was almost entirely over.He then went on to talk on a wolf which they all possessed before the clas
It was the beginning of a new semester and Harold Girard, Trisha McLeon and Wilkes Milton were in their second year in Golden Lake University. The sun shone brighter than ever, welcoming both the old and new students who were causing series of cacophonies here and there all around the school. They were happy to see their mates — and partners, too, after the holiday. At least, most of them were. Someone wasn't and that person was…A sleek limousine drove through the school's gate and down the long road. To its left and right were students in bright colours of shirts, extremely short Mini skirts and long baggy jeans — which happened to be what was trending at that moment — hugging one another, squealing in joy and walking to the new hostels assigned to them. They were also eager to see who their knew roommate was.The limousine which reflected the brilliance of Golden Lake's sun drifted round a corner and came to a halt, not minding t
With a hand pulling his travelling bag behind him, Harold began walking to where the male's hostel were located. He knew where it was and it was just midday hence, he didn't have to bother about arriving there late.He brought out his phone and texted Wilkes Milton. The both of them, with Trisha, had met at Francis and Professor Ericson's funeral. It was quite a sad one and surprisingly, a lot of people who called themselves the family of the duo, were around.‘In school already?’ Harold typed on his phone and hit the ‘send’ button. He kept on walking, still, under the scorching sun, not allowing thoughts of how Max was fairing disturb him.Deep down, he knew Max was going to survive. Max was a fine wolf — a replica of both their father, who had been trained from an early age to take over the position of being the Alpha when him and Harold's father was gone by Sarah his mother. If H
As Harold pulled his travelling bag behind him, what the athletic student that had been at his front on the queue said began to bother him.If they were keeping tabs on a student or a group of students, what was their motive? If they felt that the student(s) was/were up to no good then there was trouble looming round the corner. Harold felt nauseous. He stopped on his tracks and took out his phone. Before swiping the screen open, the corner of his left eye caught the dark-skinned student walking to the first building. That meant he was in his third and final year in Golden Lake University. The second, where Harold and Wilkes had stayed in last session, was for the first years and since they were having a meeting at that particular time, it was pretty deserted.‘What's the room number?’ Harold texted quickly. He put the phone back into his pocket and grabbed his travelling bag.He walked

So far, Max had had no problems and that made him feel good.To his right and left were students, depending on each other for survival yet there he was, with his bags which were digging into his skin, walking independently like a leader which he was destined to be.For what seemed like ages to him, he walked on.The sun charred his skin mercilessly with every step he took in the direction of where he felt the hostels were yet, he felt proud of himself. After some minutes, he got to a halt. There were two roads. Ones he hadn't expected. One of the lanes forked leftwards and took a sharp bend like a roundabout while the other went straight and seemed distant. To his sides and behind him were other students. They, too, didn't know which way led to the hostel. After a little more than ten seconds, grumbles and murmurs began to erupt all around him. He felt like he was Moses leading the Israelites to the promised land except that in this s
“So what do we do?” Wilkes asked Harold and Trisha who were seating on the other end of the desk. “We can't just allow those two… creeps keep on stalking us.”They all fell silent for a while. They were all trying to come up with a way to end what had befallen them. They wanted their freedom. They needed it and were going to stop at nothing but getting it.“I honestly don't think we can permanently put an end to them stalking us,” Trisha said.“What do you mean?” Wilkes asked.“If the school had given them the order to stalk us, they're going to do just that.”“But we can occasionally lose them,” Harold put in. “Occasionally.”“Yes. We can always decide to split up. There's two of them and three of us,” Trisha said. She paused for a second then continued, “plus I learnt a potion that can be made. It takes a week to make and causes whoever drinks it to go invisible for thirty seconds
Max Girard was one of the first students to leave the auditorium when all was done. He wanted to avoid running into as many people as possible and that equalled him leaving as early as possible. On the outside, the sun was shining even brighter than it had been when he went in. He couldn't think of any reason for this other than the fact that this was the part of Earth closest to hell.Less than a minute after getting out, tons of students trooped out after him in what he would have called ‘deafening cacophonies.’He looked around impatiently, searching for the guide that was said was going to take them to the important landmarks of the school. When all the students were out and the sun had tanned his skin till it was brown like chocolate, a young man that looked like he was in his thirties appeared out of nowhere. He had a bushy moustache that kept his lips in obscurity and had long hair tied into a bun.
