Chapter Sixty-Two - Catastrophe

Tori’s POV

The adrenaline rush of being in such a horrible predicament and coming through it was wearing off much faster than I had expected leaving me weak. I was worried about Fran yet knew I had to be at my best to help her.

I really needed Calvin’s supporting arm as we made our way to the medical facility I hadn’t known about.

“Do you think we should have one of these?” I asked.

“Unnecessary. And it would cost too much.”

That was my line.

“Not if we set Ellie up in her own practice.”

“Trust you. Jobs for the girls, is it?”

His teasing tone was just what I needed.

“She’ll never go for it,” I said.

We were grinning, despite everything, as he pushed open the white door marked ‘Aftercare’.

That was when we saw Alex holding a knife to the female medic’s throat. It meant the others were probably still in the building too.

“Release her, at once,” Alpha Calvin demanded.

“Are you injured?” I gasped, noticing the blood on her arm.

“Not me,” she managed, before collapsing onto the floor rend
