A Cold snort followed her statement, Her stepmother's voice soon came "You have nothing to do since you have already lost everything! Just accept your fate West, you are nothing without the East family behind you"
West snapped "And when have the east family been behind me?? Father didn't allow me to work in the family's company, I was never recognized as a daughter of this family and now, you all ruined my little happiness" "How shameless, Shawn belongs to my daughter, that is someone else's man you're talking about and not yours! how ridiculous can you get West?? " West blinked back her tears, she couldn't refute that when her father had set her and Shawn up for a date the first time, she was happy she finally got to be with a rich and handsome family heir, it was love at first sight for her because she always wanted to be an obedient daughter and she told herself to love everything her father loves only to make him impressed with her and maybe consider her and recognize her as his daughter.....But who would have thought?! Her life was filled with lies and she was surrounded by shady people who only wanted to leech off from her and she hated them all now. She felt used and the betrayal gnawed at her heart. Shawn clicked his tongue on his teeth "Come sign the divorce papers already West, every passing moment is a torment as I want to quickly remove this status of being your husband off" West balled her fists into balls, her eyes were gloomy but she gritted out "I will do the honour" West growled but deep within her, her heart tore as she bled inside. She couldn't believe this was how she turned out, she was so happy during the wedding preparations, she was happy she would be getting married to her dream man... Who would have thought this was all a lie?? A pretense to take her properties! A set up to leech off from her and get rid of her afterward... 'Everything was a lie' these thoughts echoed in her head as she gripped the pen and signed her divorce papers with her wedding dress on. If news got out about this, she would be the mockery of society, with the tag of a lady who was divorced barely two hours after marriage was concluded. No wonder her father didn't want it to be grand, she began to fix all the pieces together as her tears streamed down and fell on the divorce papers. "Don't get it soaked! It has to be clear to know that I severed ties with you" Shawn reminded from the back and she fell weak. The more he kept talking, the more the strength she was using to avoid breaking down kept fading off... She knew she wanted to shout, she wanted someone to pitch her hard in case she was in a sort of nightmare that felt so real. Just as she signed the part left blank for her to input her signature, Her world came crashing down on her as she slumped and fell on the hard floor of the event hall, she could see the smiling faces of Mr. Gabs, Shawn's father, and her father. Her stepmother looked relieved that they had succeeded in stripping her of her wealth. Nobody could place themselves in her shoes, her eyes turned red when Shawn Hugged Erica, muttering inaudible words to her ears while she grinned as if she hadn't joined hands in ruining her sister's life. Just when West thought she had not only lost her property but also her husband, the worst came when her father walked towards her and threw a file close to her feet. Her clouded eyes landed on the paper and she began to hiccup, her throat dropped to her belly when she saw that it was the family's register. "Just so you know West..." her father started, drawing her curious and sad eyes to her expressionless father "You have been removed from the family's register, you are no longer a member of the East Family, you're a bundle of disgrace to us, you are nothing now" West's shaky fingers held the lid of the family register that was in a file and she opened it, truly her name wasn't there anymore. This whole thing was all planned, they must have looked at her like a fool when she was busy trying to look like the most beautiful bride ever... She should have known better, she pushed the book aside as she got up from the floor, but her newly regained wit swept off when a scene began to unfold before her. With wide eyes and a mouth left open as she gasped, she watched as Shawn got on his knees She couldn't hear the words that followed as her thoughts became clouded, her eyes remained transfixed on the smiling couples, one was kneeling with one knee on the floor and the other had a shock-glad expression. Her stepmom cheered on, and her father smiled warmly while she was cast out, nobody recognized her, nobody remembered how miserable she was, how she was being replaced by her sister hurt her but she couldn't do anything as she watched the family members hug them both. Left to herself at the back, West could feel how neglected and unwanted she was, how unimportant she was in her family. They never valued her, she was nothing to them more than bargaining chips and a way to seek revenue. As if they remembered the trash, they all turn to face her after a while, she could see the challenging smile on Erica's face, she loved West's every expression of pain. Shawn snorted "And what are you still doing here?? You have no relatives here, now shush and never come back" West bit her lower lip as she blinked back her tears, with a clenched jaw, balled fist and anger hanging on her chest, she made her way out of the wedding hall, and her not-so-expensive gown looked as miserable as she was as she walked away... Leaving her pain of a family behind, they all smiled that they finally got rid of her, meanwhile, she smiled In bitterness as she muttered to herself; "Even if it means selling my soul, I will be back for revenge""It's Tomorrow Lincoln, do you have a bride yet?" Hearing those words from the other side of the phone, Lincoln Harvey scowled at his father who acted as if he cared."Very soon" his monotone voice came out, his icy cold eyes looked around as he turned to face the bureau, he'll just do this very quick and get out of here. His father, Conan gushed out "Very Good then, just know what's at stake if you fail" with that, the call ended and Lincoln scoffed, feeling very ridiculous that he later found himself in such a pathetic situation, his mood dampened.Lincoln Harvey turned towards the other three men who were present. Two were a bit far off as they were his bodyguards, their eyes scanning everywhere. The other man close to the car had his head down as he gripped his phone tightly, afraid of meeting the cold eyes of the man approaching."She backed out??" The already angry Lincoln asked a bit as he walked towards the car and stood there with both hands inside his pocket. The man who se
Walking out of the bureau, West's heavy heart tightened as her eyes wandered around, she could feel the stares from people, who wouldn't stop to look at a disheveled bride. It was as if she went to steal the wedding dress, her makeup makes her look like a thief that was beaten. Her eyes wandered around for a while before they landed on the car, a crazy smile formed on her lips as she immediately matched towards it, her expression was unreadable. She saw some men who looked like bodyguards near the car, but she didn't care as she walked towards the side of the road, her eyes brightened when She saw the concrete stone close by.Without any delay or hesitation, she took the guards off guard when she grabbed the stone and threw it directly at the car.The alarm went off and the men immediately became alerted while West stood at the side, her eyes followed the movement of the men who gasped in shock when they saw how the back glass was broken to the ground, leaving a huge hole.West smiled
"What is your name by the way?" West suddenly asked as she turn to face the man who was standing tall close to her.His eyes swept towards her, sucking her whole and she felt lost for a while but he replied nevertheless as he turn to face the other side "Lincoln Harvey" West nodded a bit,not recognizing anyone with the name but a smile formed on Lincoln's lip as he gazed deeply at the lady. After a brief moment of silence,West turn to him "I'll give you a call later, for now,I have something to take care of, dear husband" She stretched the last line with a chuckle and Lincoln nodded at her.Without saying another word, she walked out of the bureau as she headed straight to her home where she had grown all along,it was time to get a clearance from her father and shove some truths to their faces. With a stiff back,West boarded a cab back home, her heart drumming in her rib cage, not knowing if she was strong enough to face her lying husband and her industrious sister who just got engaged by
West hissed, totally annoyed as she grumbled out of the house, she didn’t want to speak with anybody now.It was about 8Pm already as she walked along the tiled road with her sneakers that has worn out.She only had few clothes so it must be really easy for the maids to pack her stuffs in just two small bags.Even if she was the daughter of the executive officer of east groups, she doesn't look like the daughter of a rich man. When Erica was given allowances, she had to work in LH Culinary To make a living for herself and buy herself all necessities for her everyday life.Shawn just only bought her this white sneakers she was currently wearing on her birthday, that was the only gift she got from him.She still felt weak from all the things that took place,in just one day,her world crumpled, she lost the man she had loved for two years and she was disowned by her father. She was hurt both emotionally and psychologically. She really loved Shawn and somewhere in her heart still calls for him n
Lincoln was just staring ahead, acting as if he was oblivious of the girl who was glaring at him."Get off my thighs!" Came a cold sentence from Lincoln and West immediately straightened her back and said "What was that tout you just pulled??" This time,Lincoln turn to look at her and asked instead "What are you doing out here by this time?? I thought I texted you to come meet me?? You ran off”West suddenly felt embarrassed as she turn to the side to look at her bags in the floor from where she was standing previously."Kinda.." West muttered and Lincoln smirked and then, silence reigned for a while."Okay then,I have to get going!" West said and turn to walk away when a voice called from the back "And where do you have in mind??"West turn to look at him with raised brows and Lincoln scoffed coldly " I don't care about you one bit so don't get funny ideas" West shook her head "and I wasn't thinking about that! It's just that....on a closer look and the darkness resting on your face,
"Just sign the papers West and let's get this done and over with" Emotionless and cruel, Shawn's words rolled out of his tongue as he stared at West.West staggered a bit backward as she stared incredulously at the man she loved, a man who promised her heaven on earth...What changed??Her thoughts were blank as her eyes fell on the paper on the table, the words inscribed on it glared hard at her as her blurry eyes saw the bold letters on the top of the paper.Divorce!"Shawn..." West's voice betrayed her as it trailed off, her eyes met his cold ones, no ounce of remorse on his face as he stared at her like he was staring at a bag filled with trash.West shook her head as the realization dawned on her "Shawn it's been barely two hours since we got married in front of our respective families..." Her tears choked her up as her eyes wandered off to the people behind Shawn.Shawn snorted before he fixed his tie, this only proved that they were still in the wedding venue, West held her gow
