CHAPTER 151: HELLO DARKNESS

CAELEN’S POV

This was all so messed up.

I hated seeing her like this; she looked absolutely torn. We have been home for over an hour, and she hasn’t said a word or moved a muscle. She insisted on staying in her room, and she absolutely refused to have the lights turned on.

I know she only did that because she didn’t want me to see how much she was crying, but I can still very much hear her sobbing. She did her best to suppress it, but my ears were one of the sharpest there was.

Why the hell did Saul have to yell at her like that? But then again, I couldn’t exactly blame him. He was equally grieving.

I will never forget how I felt the day Promise died. It felt as though my heart was being ripped out of my chest repeatedly. So yes, I did know what Saul was going through. Despite the fact that he did reject her, it was still going to hurt.
