BUSHWIND TOWN

CRIME SCENE

10:30AM

“Miss Wilson, can you tell us what happened here” I ask the young lady shaking out of fear and shock standing at the crime scene

“I....don't....know...my.... shop” Miss Wilson says struggling to find her words whilst a steam of tears covers her face

“Is there anything at all you can try to remember” Reynolds questions her in hope of getting some answers. Taking her time to find her words, but the shock takes over her entire body

“Okay its fine Miss Wilson you just wait here we will get someone to attend to you” I reassure her and calming her nerves as she slightly nods her head. I walk across to the other side out of sight of Miss Wilson, with Reynolds following behind.

“Honestly this is getting out of hand the number of dead bodies being scattered around town has been too much” I say pacing up and down agitated.

“Calm down okay” Reynolds says in attempt to calm me down and holding both my hands bringing my body to ease.

“Okay...thank you” I say staring at him directly in the eyes which brought me a sense of calmness. “Detectives I think we have found something” Daniel one of the police offers says whilst approaching us, making me detach my hands away from Reynolds and diverting me attention to the officer.

“What have you found?” I question whilst crossing me hands eager for answers.

“Look at this” Daniel says holding his phone up and showing the display on his screen to us

“What is that mark on his neck?” Reynolds questions eyes wide in shock of the picture displayed in front of him

“This mark looks very strange, send me the image so I can look into it” I say confidently

“Okay detective, I need to get back and look around and see if I find anything else around” Daniel says making me and Reynolds to nod in agreement whilst he walks away from our sight.

PACK HOUSE

BUSHWIND TOWN

13.30PM

“As you guys know we must be prepared for the next full moon, which means everyone needs to ensure that they have everything in order and support anyone who is going to experience there first full moon” Dame says sternly speaking to the pack in the meeting ensuring everyone is prepared. Halfway through the meeting he realises that Gabriel’s mind is elsewhere.

“Meeting is done for today, you can all leave” Dame says commanding the pack to leave the room, as they all leave one by one, he diverts his attention to an occupied Gabriel

“Boss what is going on” Gabriel says in attempt to grab the attention of Gabriel but doesn’t succeed.

“GABRIEL!” Dame says raising his voice attracting the attention of Gabriel

“Yeah, what's the problem” Gabriel says snapping back into reality

“You tell me what the problem is, you didn’t say anything the whole meeting” Dame says raising his eyebrow

“Nothing is the problem I was just-” Gabriel begins gathering his thoughts before stopping midway in realisation “Do you know if Brain is back yet” Gabriel questions Dame looking at him directly in the eyes.

“No, he isn't he’s going to spend another 2 days at Eastwood” Dame says looking at Gabriel in confusion at his forgetfulness.

“Oh...okay when he gets back tell him I need to see him immediately” Gabriel says grimly, resulting in Dame nodding his head slowly eager to find out what is going on with Gabriel.

“Sure Boss” Dame says whilst Gabriel walks away hastily.

“Weird” Dame says under his breath shrugging his shoulders and pouring himself a drink at the bar.

ROSE’S HOUSE

BUSHWIND TOWN

18:30PM

As I slowly walk into the house exhausted from today’s events, my mind was occupied by only one specific thing and that was my mother, I couldn’t fathom what was going on and why I kept on hearing and seeing her. It's been almost 2 years since she passed away and I haven't experienced these visions or voices until I moved to Bushwind.

“ELITA IS THAT YOU” My aunt Rose says catching my attention and bringing me back to reality

“YEAH” I reply, not in the mood to conversate “DINNER IS READY COME AND EAT” Rose says, as I walk in a snail's pace preparing myself for the integration that is about to take place.

As I walk into the kitchen, I am greeted by the delightful smell of my Aunt Rose famous pasta and her plastered wide smile.

“I’m so glad your back I wouldn’t have been able to eat all this pasta all alone” Aunt Rose says as she places a plate for me on the table

“Is Sophia working late again” I say sitting on the dining room table eager to fill up my empty stomach.

“You miss her right?” Aunt Rose questions with her hands on her hips, which makes me reply in response whilst taking the pasta into my mouth and slowly biting it at each moment savouring the tastes

“I know but when things start to calm down, she will be around a lot more” Aunt Rose says reassuring me whilst I eat away at my food.

Aunt Rose returns her back away diverting her attention to the kitchen in front of her cleaning away the surfaces.

“Aunty Rose remember when you said you was going to tell me about my mum’s words” I say removing my eyes from the food Infront of me to my aunty hopeful for answers this time. After a few moments of silence whilst she reflects on my question, she turns around a looks at me directly.

“Can we talk about this some other time I just remembered I have some paperwork I need to fill out” Aunty Rose says in attempt to avoid my questions and places a kiss on my forehead “Enjoy the meal” she says with a slight smile and swiftly walks away. Leaving me alone to my thoughts and eager to understand why she is avoiding the conversation, deciding not to think deeply into it I continue devouring my food.

BUSHWINND TOWN

22:00PM

After spending the last hours in deep thought laying in my bed, allowing myself to get to a point of madness. Running has always been a coping mechanism for me especially after my mother’s death, it has always helped me keep sane in an unstable world and find a sense of peace. For some reason I have a weird obsession of wanting to run in the night in the cold and empty streets.

Remember that contentment I was struggling to find in this town? well I have found it in the most unusual place...the forest the one place that brings me some ultimate peace, the one place I feel like I belong I couldn’t figure out why, but I felt like I’m meant to be there.
