Too Close

"Together?"

"Yes, together. I figured you might be scared after what just happened."

"I am. I'm not saying so because I want to take advantage of you, but this is the first time something like this ever happened to me. To be honest, i'm a bit frightened" Briana shivers in fear.

"Hey, I know you're scared. And that's why I offered to stay with you tonight." They both walk out of the elevator, and walk towards her apartment. After carefully processing, Briana decides to open her door and they both walk in. "Are you sure you want to stay here with me? I could still call you when I hear a certain noise" Says Briana. "I just need a blanket and I'm good. I'm here, so don't be scared" David replies. For once David felt like a normal guy to Briana. He was no longer the superstar she knew, because they spoke casually to each other now.

A few minutes later, Briana had already changed into her pajama and was sharing the cake, putting each slice of the cake in two different plates. She hands one over to David and starts eating almost immediately. "Do you like it that much?" David asked. "You mean cake?. Yes I do. I've loved it ever since I was a kid. It also drives my stress away" Briana responds. "So, you eat it whenever you feel stressed" Says David. "Yes I do. What about you?, what do you do when you feel stressed?" Briana asks David. "I cook. I can cook lots of dishes, depending on how stressed I am" David responds with a smirk.

A few hours later, Briana had already fallen asleep on the couch and David carries her to her bedroom. He places her carefully on her bed, fixes her hair and then covers her with her blanket. He sees pictures of him on her wall. Surprised, he doesn't say a word. David walks back to the living room to sleep on the couch. Briana wakes up the next morning to find herself on the bed, and doesn't think much about it. She sits up and wears her slipper heading to the living room, when she suddenly remembers that David might've seen the pictures on her wall since it wasn't possible that she had gone to bed herself after falling asleep on the couch.

"Oh no!" she screams so loud, not noticing David's presence. David who had just finished making breakfast in the kitchen, quickly runs to Briana. "Is everything okay? I heard you scream while I was setting the table" Says David who looked worried and even more when Briana hides her face in shame. "You must've seen the pictures on my wall. I feel so embarrassed" says Briana who won't even show a glimpse of her face to David. "Why would you feel embarrassed?. They're just pictures. You didn't do anything illegal" David tries to calm her down. "I didn't mean for you to see it. Now you know that I know who you are. I was going to keep it a secret until I die" Says Briana who feels extremely embarrassed. "You knew who I was and yet you kept it a secret. There's nothing wrong with that. You respected my privacy and i'm extremely grateful to you" Says David who moves gradually towards her. "Hey, you don't need to hide anymore" he moves her hands away from her face when he notices her nose it bleeding.

"Your nose!, it's bleeding" David exclaims in a worried tone. "Huh? Where?" Briana tries to wipe the blood off her nose with her hand when David suddenly grabs her hand. "Don't. I'll do it" says David. David takes her to sit on the couch. He quickly grabs a towel from her laundry room which was right next to her kitchen, and a bowl of water. After rushing back to Briana, he soaks the towel in the bowl of water, squeezes it and wipes the blood from her nose. "You should lie down for a while. The bleeding will go away in no time" says David as he helps her lie down on the couch. He soaks the towel again and then carefully places it on her forehead. 30 minutes later, Briana is already asleep and keeps turning, almost falling to the floor when David who had been watching her quickly grabs her. Briana suddenly wakes up and finds herself in David's arms and quickly rolls back to the couch.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" says Briana who looks even more embarrassed. "I'm okay. You seem to turn a lot while sleeping. Do you get nightmares every time you sleep?" says David jokingly. "Thank you for looking after me. I feel so grateful and embarrassed. You should go home now, you must be tired." Says Briana who constantly looks down, not wanting to see eye to eye with David. "I'll leave only after you eat, so I won't  have to worry about your health" Says David who helps her to her feet and brings her to the dinning section. "Thank you. I'll eat well" says Briana with a bright smile. Briana continues, "I can't remember how many times you've cooked for me. I wish I could repay you". "We could start by being friends, good friends. That's the only way I'm going to let you repay me" Says David with a serious, yet gentle stare. Briana suddenly chokes on her food, "friends with a celebrity!. Not bad".

David pours Briana a glass of water, "you handled that pretty well before when you pretended not to know me" Says David. "Because I was trying to protect you" Briana responds hesitantly. "Protect me?" says David in a flirty manner. "Because I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable. And yes, I'm a big fan of yours. I've been one for a very long time now" Says Briana who continues eating gradually. "The more I look at you, the more I find you very interesting" says David who grabs a seat beside her. "Huh?" Says Briana who looks even more confused.
