Just A Touch

David slightly opens his eyes, breathing softly, he gently strokes her hair which was covering her face. Noticing he isn't in his normal state of mind, Briana doesn't panick. "Are you okay?," Briana asked. David quickly realizes he's holding Briana, and so he immediately lets go. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Did I scare you?" David answers as they both sit up straight. "Did you have a nightmare?" says Briana, who looks worried. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like you that. If you want, I could sleep in my apartment" says David who feels guilty. "I asked if you were okay. I never said I wanted you to go" says Briana.

"It was just a bad dream. I'm sorry I made you worry" David answers. "Are you sure? What was it about?" Says Briana who looks worried for him. "It was just a dream. You don't need to worry about it. You should go back to sleep" says David. "Okay. I got you this blanket. I thought it would be cold tonight, so you might need it" says Briana who hands over the blanket to him. "Thank you" says David who feels touched by her thoughtfulness. "Just a minute, I'll be right back" says Briana, who rushes to her room, grabs her blanket, her pillow, and then rushes back to the living room. "W....why..?" says David, who looks confused after seeing that Briana came back with her blanket and pillow. "Uhm..., it's a bit cold in the room so I'll just sleep here with you. I hope you don't mind. There's a lot of space here, so I can just sleep on the floor" says Briana. "On the floor?. I can't let you do that, it's your house, and you'll catch a cold" says David who grabs his blanket and ushers Briana to the couch. "You sleep here, I'll sleep on the floor" David continues.

Briana doesn't argue and makes herself comfortable on the couch, and watches David sleep on the floor. About an hour later, David falls asleep and Briana watches him for a while. "He looks so peaceful, or maybe not" Briana murmurs. A few minutes later, David wakes up to find Briana already asleep. He also watches her sleep for a few minutes before going back to sleep again. David wakes up in the morning and finds Briana setting up the table. She had just finished making breakfast.

"Good morning, you're awake" says Briana to David. "Good morning" answers David. "Come eat breakfast" says Briana. David gently walks to the dining table after folding his blanket. He softly pulls the chair and then sits while admiring the food. "You didn't have to do this, but thank you" says David. "So, you're allowed to make breakfast for me, but I can't?" Briana smirks as she starts eating right away. "Eat up. That reminds me, I have to go grocery shopping today. Do you want to maybe come along?. Sometimes it's good to go out and exercise a little, since you rarely go anywhere" says Briana, but David stays silent. Briana continues, "I don't know how I can go out alone, especially now that I have a stalker. I don't know when he's going to come attack me...." Briana doesn't finish when David suddenly interrupts her. "I'll go with you. It's such a crowded place and I don't want to attract any attention, but I promised to protect you and I will" says David. "I already have a solution for that" answers Briana.

Briana and David are shopping at the grocery store, both wearing masks and a face cap. Briana giggles as she watches David use his hand to cover his face. He feels uncomfortable. "That's cute, but you know no one's gonna know who you are because you're wearing a mask" says Briana. They both walk to the register with the food items, scan them and then Briana pays the bill. "Are you sure you can eat all that?, that's a lot of food" says David, looking through the food items as they both walk out to the car, carrying lots of bags. "Of course. That way I won't have to go grocery shopping for another month " Briana answers.

David and Briana are both putting the bags of food items into the car when a bunch of college girls notice David while passing by. They immediately start whispering to each other. "Isn't that David Carlson?" Says girl 1. "What are you talking about? Why would he be here?" Says girl 2. "The David I know wouldn't even show himself in public, not with some random cheap girl" says girl 3. "I could've sworn it was him. I can recognize him by the shape of his head, and how he walks" says girl 1. They all try to approach David when Briana immediately hugs him in order to distract the girls from coming any further. "I don't think it's him" says girl 2. "But he kind of looks familiar" says girl 3. They try to approach David again when Briana suddenly takes of her face cap and then kisses David still with their masks on. The girls immediately walk away. "David would never kiss a girl. That's not David." The girls murmur to themselves as they walk away.

On their way home, Briana and David are both silent while she drives. Briana suddenly decides to break the silence. "I'm sorry I kissed you. I overheard their conversations and I just wanted to distract them from coming any further" says Briana. "I know, and I'm grateful" says David. "I just didn't want you to feel uncomfortable" says Briana. "Then it would be awkward, but it's not. You did that to help me" says David. The silence breaks in again, and Briana turns on the radio for some good music.

They both arrive home, and Briana immediately walks to her door. She grabs the bags from David in a hurry, looking very uncomfortable. "Thank you for accompanying me today. I'll go in now, have a good night" says Briana who immediately opens the door and walks in, but David follows her inside. "What are you doing?" Briana gasps in shock. David takes off his face cap and his mask, and then he takes off Briana's mask as well. "Let's not be awkward with each other" Says David who stares deeply into her eyes.
