Chapter 412 Things Have Changed

"That's my business. I don't have to explain anything to you, do I?" Leslie tried to keep a casual smile, but she was running out of energy to talk.

Hugh fell silent.

They both looked out their respective windows, but their minds weren't on the scenery.

Suddenly, the car made a sharp turn, causing Leslie to lean toward Hugh. He instinctively caught Leslie by the shoulder.

It was only then did Hugh noticed Leslie's abnormally high temperature.

Leslie also knew Hugh caught her lie and quickly returned to her seat. She wished she could disappear between the car seats.

"Sorry, sir. A creature suddenly ran across, so I needed to dodge it," the driver explained.

Hugh hummed. "It's okay."

Then, he turned to look at Leslie. But she stubbornly kept looking out the window, avoiding his gaze.

Hugh's mouth twitched. But seeing her evasion, he decided against pressing further. He indeed had no right to pry into Leslie's affairs.

It only made him seem ridiculous if he asked.
