Sandra was stood in front of Putin Global in a beige coat. It was snowing a little and I darted to her.
"Is this perhaps fate?" I asked her. "I'm wearing a beige coat too."
"Nah it just the common colour everyone wears," she replied curtly and I resisted the urge to argue with her. "So, it's going to be crowded inside and you don't need to be nervous."
"Come on, I'm used to a lot of attention," I replied boastfully. "Everyone eyes is always on me "
"Well this might be different. It is not some highschoolers that will be in the building," she warned.
"What difference does it makes," I grumbled as we passed through the revolving door.
Earlier I had called Tanner. Although he didn't want to let me go, he did of course he had to. Immediately we were in the building, Sandra exchanged greetings and all eyes stuck on me as we pushed through the bustling people. Sandra raised her eyes at me. I understood the ' I told you so' message and replied with a shrug.
We reached the elevator soon enough and Sandra pressed some buttons before turning to me.
Silence reigned and no one joined us in the elevator. Then the elevator shook violently and stopped.
"What was that?"I asked.
"It's just a malfunction. You don't need to be afraid," she assured.
"Firstly I am the one supposed to be telling you that, you know, like a man," I pointed out. And did that just happen? I expected high of Putin Global. Gosh, I am so disappointed," I repiled.
"Hey! No one is perfect and besides it happened only once..." she was saying when the elevator shook again. I raised my eyebrows at her. "Really once."
The elevator continued to shake even more violently.
My father was dead and although I liked him, I wasn't planning to meet him so soon. He wouldn't even like that, would he?
There was another violent shake and the elevator tilted, Sandra backing first with me following. I had to put my hands before me on the wall to avoid slamming on her body. There was going to be the stare when the elevator tilted to the other side. I fell on my back and Sandra fell on me.
" My back hurts..." I was saying when I realized that Sandra was on him.
" Really? Such a beauty on me. God must be testing me," I teased.
The elevator opened at that moment and Sandra quickly got off me, flushed. I stood up, dustin his clothes.
" You might need some emergency make-up," I pointed out.
She touched her boiling cheeks. " Go first... I'll... I will catch up with you."
She walked out of the elevator and I smiled.
.....
Sandra met me in front of Morgan's office door.
" I was directed here by the janitor," I said. " I'm new here, you know."
She ignored my statement. " Why didn't you get in?"
She had covered the red on her face with white make-up.
I smiled. " Lead the way."
Sandra walked in and Todd followed strutting in.
They passed a fore office before reaching Morgan's.
She sat in a black suit behind her desk, focusing on the paper on her hand. Her desk was crowded. There was piles of file, a small flag and a photo frame.
Sandra cleared her throat before Morgan looked. Clearly the latter was aware of their presence but decided to ignore them.
" What's this pipsqueak doing here?" Morgan asked, referring to me.
" He is not. He is your new P.A," Sandra said.
" That means I will be stuck with you," I added.
" And you will resign like every other," Morgan pointed out leaning forward.
.....
Morgan was already smiling with triumph. That was the first step to sending him away.
But I suddenly broke into a grin which suprised her.
I leaned forward and said. " Really?"
Then I had my hand on the desk and leaned forward more till she began to lean back. I leaned till she was pressed firmly against her chair and his face was very close to hers.
Her cheek grew hot and nervousness flooded her. Her eyes widen and her emotion was being played on.
" Don't worry. I will make sure to serve you well princess." I stroked her face and she flushed. " I hope you look forward to it." I stood. " So what's next?"
No one could answer. Sandra had a look of mixed feeling on her face. Of jealousy and fascination.
I grinned. This was going to be interesting.
MORGAN EDGECOMBE EYES WAS glued to the files in front of her. She was determined to coin out a strategy or a concept from the pile on the desk. As the only child and heiress of Putin Global, much was expected from her by her father and she was determined not to let him down. Her current situation was not looking favourable and she doubted she could get any of what she was looking for in this state. Someone entered and she looked up to see her secretary. " Hey, Sandra."" You are still on that?" Her secretary asked." Yes. Unfortunately, I am not progressing."" Why don't you pick another? That would not hurt your 'perfect daughter' record," Sandra advised." I must refuse," Morgan said. " I do not look back when my hand is on the plough and is not planning on starting that record now. I am sure I will figure it out. I am closer to figuring it out than when I just started anyway."" I must give up. You can never be convinced anyway." Sandra walked up to Morgan's desk. The latter star
