“If I was attacked by such a dangerous demon werewolf when this Alpha saw me, why wasn't I injured or even got scratches and bruises except for the wound I got before I shifted?” Aurelia mumbled to herself.
That thought bothered her mind for a few minutes but she didn’t pursue asking him. She thought that raising a question would also mean she’s doubting his words. That would be disrespectful. Maybe, she should buy the idea that he saved her.
Nonetheless, Aurelia has been contemplating whether to thank him or not.
“Where am I? What’s this place?” Instead of uttering an appreciation and thanksgiving, she managed to ask.
He licks his pinkish lower lip before shifting his eyes to her. He resembles a manly figure yet the way he blinks and the way his eyelashes flickers, and how his lips move, they are totally smooth and soft. . . very feminine.
And why is she thinking about these all of a sudden?
To shake that thought off her head, Aurelia bit her lip and looked away.
“You’re in my room.”
Her jaw drops at his answer but she immediately recovers from the shock. There’s nothing to be surprised about but seeing his room makes her fascinated. His room was clean, too plain, and… it didn’t look like a male’s room. It’s more like an infirmary.
“Okay. Can I leave now?” Sounding like a whisper, she asks.
But to her surprise, his jaw clenched tightly as if he was not pleased to hear her question.
“I was just asking. Of course, I had to leave. I had no agenda with him after all. Plus, I was feeling okay and I believed I could now find a new and safe shelter. I didn’t want to bother him with my problems,” Aurelia thought to herself as she let her eyes roam around the place.
“You’re leaving?”
His question sounds like he is offended. It makes Aurelia turn her head to his direction.
She clears her throat. “Really, I’m grateful for your kind acts; for saving me and treating my wounds. But I’m sorry. . . I can’t stay any longer. I have to leave now. I still have some errands.”
She even bows her head to him as a sign of deep appreciation but seems like he’s not pleased to hear her kind remarks.
He’s just looking at her without any hint of joy or any positive emotion.
“What’s the problem with you, mister?” Aurelia mumbled to herself.
“You’re not allowed to go anywhere. You’re staying with us from now on.” Ignoring her statement, he muttered sternly. His eyes begin to darkened.
“What?!” She couldn’t help but raise her tone, perplexed and unbelievingly.
“You heard it clearly, woman. You’ll be staying here as I have ordered.”
Confused yet annoyed, Aurelia couldn’t digest his statements.
She could feel her blood boiling up in frustration and anger. Her fists are clenched, controlling herself and trying to extend her patience.
“Who are you to dictate to me like that? We don’t even know each other. I don’t even know you!”
Alpha Matias crosses his arms and stares at her with his dark eyes. So dark that she might get lost if she stares at them longer.
He steps one foot closer to her. He lowered his head a little so our eyes could meet. His intimidating aura was giving her something she couldn’t name. He licks his lowered lip again without breaking eye contact.
“Should I introduce myself again?” He asked, raising his eyebrow.
“You don’t have to tell me who you are once again, mister.” Aurelia fights the urge to shout at him in the face.
“Good, then. I dislike having to repeat my statements.”
She has this desire to knock him out. This man was so full of himself.
“No one could ever tell me what I should do. He’s a complete stranger to me yet he had the audacity to behave like a superior! I don’t care if he was an Alpha or whatever! His title has nothing to do with me!” Aurelia mumbles internally as she has been suppressing her emotions.
She eyed him and stated, “I don’t know why you’re forcing me to stay. But I just wanted to let you know that nobody owns me. I maybe owe you my life and I’m thankful because you saved me, but still, you couldn’t dictate to me like that. I’m not entitled to be someone’s property. I have a thing called ‘freedom’ and nobody should invalidate that.”
He smirks and chuckles like an evil because of her remark. He was laughing as if there was something funny about that.
“You’re making me laugh, woman.”
He even held his stomach just to show how hard he was laughing because of Aurelia’s words. He was rejoicing yet here she was, boiling up in irritation and losing the last string of her temper.
“Do I look like a clown to you?” Aurelia can’t help but raise her head higher to express authority.
He clears his throat, tired from laughing like an asshole.
“No. But you sounded like a kid.”
“Stop it. I’m being serious here!”
“And I’m serious with my decision, too.”
From his playful manner, he shifts into a formal and austere one. She eyed him from head to foot and she saw nothing but a clever man; tall and full of boastfulness.
“Nevermind, I’m leaving anyway.”
She walks past him but he immediately grabs her arms and stops her from walking away.
“I said you are not allowed to leave,” he stated firmly; gritting his teeth. It was completely different from the way he spoke earlier. Now, he looks dangerous.
“You don’t own me. Stop sounding like I’m your property!”
She watches how his jaw clenchs tightly before pinning her to the wall. Now, they are an inch close to each other. She could even smell his breath from here.
“The moment you stepped a foot in my territory, I own you already.”
She blinks twice as she’s trying to process his words in her head. And before she’s about to mutter a word, he immediately cuts her off.
“If I say you’re not allowed to leave my territory, you’re not allowed to leave. Keep that in your mind.”
Her mouth is left wide open when he stops pinning her to the wall.
Once she recovers from his remarks, she abruptly protests, “No. I’m leaving and nobody could stop me!”
She’s about to head to the door when he once again grabbed her arms so tight.
“Hands off me,” she muttered without any emotion.
“Gracia, came in.” Then he called someone instead of releasing her arm.
A lady wearing a black coat went closer to the door as he ordered.
“Sir…”
She tries to remove his hand on her arm but his grip is too firm it’s starting to hurt her skin.
“Hands off me. I’m hurting!” she commented and he gradually let go of her arm.
She caresses her arm and notices the effect of his touch on her skin. It turns slightly reddish.
“Gracia, keep an eye on her. Never let her go. Lock the door after I go.”
“Copy, Alpha Matias.” The lady nodded.
My eyes widened a fraction. He will lock me up in this room?!
“W-what?! No?! You cannot do this to me!”
He turns to her and gives her a deadly serious stare.
“Yes, I can.”
Then he walks to the door, leaving her to the lady.
“Hey!” She tries to reach him but that lady instantly stops her and blocks her sight.
“I will talk to you later. But for now, take a rest and calm yourself down,” he went on.
“How can I calm down when you’re going to lock me inside this dreadful room! Are you even thinking! Let me go!”
She tries to push the lady but she is so strong and firm. She doesn’t even flinch a bit!
“Matias, let me go!”
He's about to turn his back when she calls his name. He looks back and instantly finds her eyes.
“You will thank me for this someday.”
Then he left her sight.
His words lingered in her head for hours. She has been trying to think about them and analyze every single word he said but she couldn’t understand anything. He is purely irrational!

“I’m sending you to Valle de La Muerte.”The moment her father stated those words, Aurelia already knew that he didn’t really want to keep her in this home anymore.
