We make our way through the trees until we come to a clearing. We spread out so we can search the clearing faster, Cooper knows we are looking for Ash but Lyrica doesn’t know the full story yet. Once we have thoroughly searched the clearing we head on our way, continuing through the dense trees that surround and swallows us whole. I allow myself to look at the beauty that surrounds me, not for the first time I am completely taken by how well preserved it is, thanks to most of mankind because they are to scared to come here, the beautiful forest still remains intact and complete. We search for hours, with no sign of him and as soon as the sun disappears behind the trees, we have to give up the search until tomorrow. We set up camp and we are lucky to find out that Lyrica has her own tent that she can sleep in, we all say goodnight and go to sleep. The next morning as soon as the sun’s first light shines onto the tent I am awake. My heart beats fast as I remember what the monster had said. You have three days to find him, 3 days and I am already down one day. Which means if I don’t find him soon, he dies, or I die, I don’t know which one, and so I need to find him soon. Quickly I change out of the clothes I was wearing last night and into my other clothes, which are Cooper’s; but they fit me, just. I climb over Cooper and exit the tent. I grab my bow and quiver as well, just in case they plan a surprise attack. I run around the clearing searching for anything that could resemble something of Ash’s. Natalie grabs my hand and glances towards the pile of bones. “We will have time to talk later, but right now we have to go, we are running out of time.” She says. I nod my head in understanding and grip her hand even tighter and she returns the gesture. We crawl through the tunnel side by side; the tunnel is quite dark and smells really bad which I am guessing is because of the rotting dead bodies that are at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel feels like it goes forever just because I really want to talk to her. Finally we reach the end of the tunnel and find ourselves in a large hole. Natalie climbs out first and then she takes off running in the direction of the tents that are on the other side of the clearing. When we finally make it to the tents, Natalie calls out “Cooper? “Well I will start by explaining what happened when I woke up. I woke up with a start, but at first I couldn’t move because of my injuries. So I decide to crawl. I crawled for about five minutes and suddenly the trees open up around me and I find myself in a clearing, a massive clearing and right in the middle of that clearing is a well. My body moves and slowly I am standing up. Then I am walking, then I am running to the well; I didn’t know I had that much energy, I guess it was just the need to get to the water to have water hydrating my body. I grab the rope and start pulling, slowly the bucket rises, then when I see it, I cry out with happiness. Water, lovely pure water, I grab the bucket, check the water and then start drinking. The pure untouched water runs down my throat, the amazing water. It isn’t until I hear a low grunting noise, that I realise it was a trap. 20 or more monsters surround me coming at me from all sides, I have nowhere to go. I am attacked, I fight for a lit

“What the hell just happened?” I say to the trees, knowing that Natalie is asking herself to same question. I try to stand, but that doesn’t work so I end up crawling towards Natalie instead. I want to know what she saw, why that happened. When I reach her, she brakes down into tears. Then suddenly she is on her feet, she reaches down and grabs my arm, pulling me up. Then she is running in the direction we were going. I don’t know why she changed her pace; all I know is that it must be important. So, I race after her, she neither gains nor losses ground. We run for what feels like hours, it isn’t until we come to a familiar spot that I realise, Natalie must have remembered something or been shown something. We race towards the car, shoving the stuff into the boot then climbing into the car, I shove the car into drive and we race off down the mountain towards home. What is happening to me? How did she do it? All these questions spill out of my mouth as I hunt for answers about this strange and supernatural happening. My monsters are just as confused as I am, they are all miserable and sad faced. As I pace around my room my thoughts always return to that one mysterious, dangerous and beautiful girl. I don’t know what it is about her, but she seems to have so much potential, and ability but she doesn’t know or realise. I don’t know what she sees in Ash, he was so easy to manipulate, but that could have been because I was heavily focused on making Natalie die in his manipulation. I want Natalie for myself and the only way I can see that happening is if I kill Ash myself but make it look as if that Cooper boy was the one to kill him. “But how will I do it? That is the question.” I guess I could manipulate Cooper into killing him like I did to him in his dreams where he tried to kill Natalie, but it really depends on Natalie. Like the prophecy

I have been watching all three of them quietly and I have noticed little things that I don’t think the others have noticed, or maybe they just don’t care. Natalie, well Natalie is the hardest to read. She is the leader, which I find extremely weird considering both the boys would have to be heaps stronger. But she is smart, good at battle plans and altogether really caring. I believe she is also really brave. Like the attack that happened in the forest, she didn’t blink even when Cooper was out cold and that the invisible monster was holding me by the neck as she was threatened. It was a strange event; I saw my life flash before my eyes. I could feel my heart beat slowing. But all I could do was hang and look at Natalie’s eyes. As soon as the monster mentioned Ash being alive, her eyes brightened and that light gave me hope and knowledge I knew I was going to live. Cooper’s sudden disappearance had me confused and worried, he had been fighting right along beside me since the beginning of the battle and then he started acting funny. Suddenly he stands; I glance at him anxiously wondering what he’s about to do. He scans the area, I watch his legs stiffen and as he slowly rotates his neck to look at me. As the vision comes, my eyes seem to slowly close, and as I’m surrounded by back a small stream of light breaks through the opening of my eyelids. As my eyes open, the bodies and the blood that surround me are confronting. All my friends are being slaughter, I look around the clearing and see Ash fight beside Aaron, they both seem to be protecting each other’s back. I scan the rest of the clearing to see Lyrica fighting beside Cooper, but she keeps glancing at him like there might be something wrong with him, but she doesn’t let this stop her from throwing sand and swinging her sword in every direction she can. I see some of Riley’s fighters fighting with the equipment that they grab this morning before we left. There are some bodies on the ground but they are to far away for me to see what they are. As I climb to my feet, I Ash turns in my direction and a look of relief flashes over his face. He exchanges a few words with Aaron, Aaron nods and they slowly make their way towards me.

As he brings his sword down I raise mine, creating a loud clang as the metal collides into each other and as the sparks fly, I am suddenly fearful that these moments could be my last. As we battle we both try to take over each others mind, but we both seem to be as strong as each other as we shield the other from our own thoughts. Everything seems to be floating around my mind unable to settle on anything that is happening. Even fighting him seems to be just happening as though I have been sword fighting my whole life, as I swing my sword advancing and deflecting his own attack I am still able to notice what he is doing and I notice myself looking for weaknesses in his defence. Then I look back up at my dad, he seems worried, really worried. The light from the sun is starting to disappear so it must be getting late. He glances back in the direction that I just ran off in, before turning and sprinting off in the opposite direction. After running a kilometre or so, I realise that we are at the same clearing that Natalie found Ash in. Dad keeps looking around, and as I follow the direction of his gaze I finally see what a monster looks like. I can’t tell if it is because I can see with dad’s eyes or if the master is allowing me to see it. But it is the most grotesque thing I have ever seen in my life, slowly the monster approaches, it’s massive. The colour of it is so dark it’s looks like it is as black as night, with the most crimson eyes I have every seen. Dad grabs an arrow and aims it at the monster. As soon as the battle started, everyone was lost in the fray, I saw Natalie run in one direction and Ash tried to follow but I am guessing to many monsters had crowded him because he had to stop and all I could see was the light reflecting off his sword as he cut them down, well I think he cut them down. I decide to stick with Lyrica, more so now after our new relationship has bloomed. I see people being cut down everywhere, most injured but others it’s hard to tell. I also see a lot of sand bags bursting as they hit the hidden monsters. It doesn’t take long before Lyrica and I are standing back-to-back, surround by the invisible monsters. I swing my sword sometimes I feel the hit but other times it only feels like air. My sword just seems to never find a purchase; I can tell that Lyrica is finding it to be quite frustrating as I hear her swinging her sword and hearing the sound of the air swishing past the shape blade. By the time we have everyone up and in the lounge room we have lost half an hour. Everyone looks panicked and unfocused. “Alright guys, the time has come for us to band together to beat this evil that has descended upon us.” With that I grab Ash’s hand and walk towards the front door, they quickly fall into step behind me. We walk onto the street and then onto the main high way that runs through Frostvale. I make sure that everyone still has all their weapons as well as their sand bags and then we stand in a line, restricting any of the monsters to penetrate further into the town. We stand for close to maybe an hour, waiting, just waiting for any sign of movement or panic. Just when I am about to give the signal to dismiss and go back to the house, we hear screams in the distance. Then sure enough I see the monsters and my brain nearly explodes.
