I did not sleep after I discovered the bracelet. I tossed and turned all night, my mind consumed with thoughts of where it came from and who it belonged to. If it was from Trence, that means he knows where we are.

"Good morning," Vince said, interrupting my thoughts.

"You look like you didn't get much sleep last night," he added when he kissed me on the cheeks. I forced a smile, trying to push away the unease that lingered from the previous night's discovery.

"Good morning, Vince," I greeted him.

"I did have a bit of trouble sleeping," I admitted, avoiding eye contact. "But I'm sure it's nothing to worry about," I reasoned.

Vince raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced by my attempt to brush off the situation. "Is everything okay?" he asked, his tone filled with concern.

"Yes, everything is okay," I said, and I rose from the seat.

"I just had a lot on my mind last night, that's all," I reassured him as I walked towards the kitchen to start making breakfast. Vince followed me, his eye
