Emile’s end was not as chaotic as Chris’s. Other than the fact that she was getting heavier and the usual troubles of being six months pregnant, there was nearly nothing exciting. Darcy and Eva landed back at the private landing strip for the Walters in early hours of the morning. All the Walters without exception were present to welcome them home. Darcy couldn’t stand the pressure while he waited for Chris and Eric to update Marcus. He started pacing through the room as he imagined the worst-case scenario where Marcus denied him and refused to accept him. He pulled off his tie as he found it difficult to breathe. He pulled open his top buttons as he paced; he pulled his hair as he threaded it with his hands in despair. He tried calming himself by taking deep breaths, but the truth was, none of this was helping his nerves. He stared anxiously at the door.
