Chapter 15

Yvonne was unsure if Zachary was telling the truth, but she could not take the chance. She immediately hurried to Hyatt Hotels.

When she arrived at Hyatt Hotels, she quickly jumped out of the car and dashed into the hotel, sprinting like a track athlete toward the elevator doors. When she stepped into the elevator, she noticed that Jackson and Fiona were standing inside.

She did not have enough time to back out, and she had no reason to back out anyway. She had not done anything wrong. Why should she be scared of the b*stard and the b*tch?

Fiona immediately leaned on Jackson when she saw it was Yvonne who had entered the elevator. Jackson stiffened and peeked at Yvonne through the corner of his eyes. She did not even bother to look over at them as she crossed her arms across her chest and stood with an apathetic expression on her face.

He felt anger brewing in his heart. He initially wanted to push Fiona away, but he ended up cradling her when Yvonne ignored him.

Yvonne did not spare them a single glance. Her phone was buzzing in her pocket. When she hurriedly took her phone out and answered, she heard Zachary’s voice say, “It’s been thirty minutes!”

“I’m already in the elevator!”

“I only gave you thirty minutes, and you did not follow the rules. We’re done here!”

Yvonne panicked when she heard Zachary’s cold voice. “Zachary Quimby, you can’t do that! I’m already here. You can’t blame me for the traffic jam on the way!”

Anger brewed in Jackson’s heart when he watched her offer a desperate explanation to Zachary. That f*cking woman had never apologized to him for all the times she kept him waiting during their dates in the past. She was always late. Comparing the current moment and past moments only caused bitterness!

He was still angry when the elevator stopped at a floor, and Yvonne dashed to the room Zachary had booked.

Fiona would tell that Jackson was in a bad mood just by looking at him. She added a well-timed sentence, “Ms. Yates seems to be with Mr. Quimby now. Mr. Quimby is well-known for his flirty behaviors…”

“Why does that concern you?” Jackson asked exasperatedly.

Fiona turned flustered when she saw the cold expression on his face.

When Yvonne hurriedly pushed the door open, she saw Zachary sitting with his legs crossed on the couch while Felix stood beside him. She squeezed a smile onto her face and said, “President Quimby!”

“Hm!” Zachary merely said that before he lifted his wrist and glanced at his watch.

“You’re late, Ms. Yates!”

“I’m sorry, President Quimby!” Yvonne said with an apologetic smile on her face.

“You’re sorry? You know what my rules are, don’t you?”

“I do, I do! President Quimby, about the kidney donor…”

Zachary lifted his bandaged arm and blew on it as he gave Yvonne a side-eye. “I only have to give the order to get a kidney donor. However…”

Yvonne forced herself to be patient. “I can do anything you want as long as you help me, President Quimby!”

“Anything?” Zachary asked questioningly.

“Well… except for that…” Yvonne said hesitantly.

Zachary raised an eyebrow. This woman truly intrigued him. Every other woman could not wait to launch themselves into his arms. However, she seemed reluctant to have any connection to him.

One of his favorite things to do was to find novelty things. Yvonne was stunningly beautiful and exactly his type of girl. He could not rush things.

As he thought of that, Zachary gave Yvonne a stunning smile. “Do you still want to resign?”

“No, not anymore!”

“In that case, sign the contract!” Zachary pursed his lips at Felix, who immediately took a contract out from his briefcase and handed it to Yvonne.

Yvonne had a bewildered expression on her face as she took the contract from him. “What is this?”

“An employment contract. Didn’t you quit your job before this? We’ll sign a contract again. I’ll take care of your uncle’s kidney transplant under the condition that you return to work at the office.

Yvonne took the contract and read through it. She did not find anything odd in it. The doctor had told her her uncle could not afford to wait any longer. She would not allow anything bad to happen to her uncle. She would do it for her uncle. As she thought that, she gritted her teeth and took the pen to sign her name.

Zachary stared at Yvonne until she signed her name on the contract. He beckoned for Felix to store the contract away as he plastered a fake smile on his face and said to Yvonne, “The contract is effective as of now. I will fulfill my duties, and I hope you will remember your responsibilities as well. Remember to be present whenever I call for you!”
