Chapter 13

Yvonne was still feeling muddled on the way back home. Everything Sandra had said about the high payout for appearing in the dating reality show tempted her. Furthermore, Sandra had also mentioned that there would be a bonus if the views were good. Does that mean she could be rich?

To some, earning several million dollars is not equivalent to getting rich, but it is to Yvonne.

Now that her uncle had fallen sick, she would need to prepare a large sum of money for the medical bills. However, she had no source of income at the moment since she had quit her job. If she could earn some money by being a guest star on the dating reality show, she would gladly accept the offer in a heartbeat.

When the car pulled to a stop at the alleyway, Yvonne hurriedly got out with the documents. As she walked up to the entrance, she was stopped by someone. Zachary looked like a thug, standing there with a smile and his hands in his pockets.

“Yvonne! I’ve waited so long for you!”

“Why were you waiting for me?” Yvonne asked exasperatedly.

Her eyes sparkled now that she wasn’t wearing her black frames. Her voice did not have its usual gentleness to it. It was as if she had turned into a whole new person, and Zachary was a big fan of this new character. He blushed and said, “I have something to tell you. Come with me.”

As he spoke, he reached out to grab Yvonne’s hand. Shocked, Yvonne immediately shook his hand off hers. “Zachary Quimby, what do you want to do?”

Zachary immediately grabbed her hand again. “I genuinely have something to tell you!”

“I don’t want to hear anything that you have to say. Zachary Quimby, let go of me!”

“I won’t let go!” Zachary’s bratty temper flared up. He disregarded everything Yvonne said and dragged her along with him. Yvonne panicked and raised her hand to slap him. However, he came prepared after having received a slap from her that morning. He immediately used his other hand to grab hold of Yvonne’s hand.

She was unable to wrench herself away as Zachary dragged her to the parking lot where his car was parked. Yvonne had never expected him to be this shameless. She immediately began yelling, “Help, he’s harassing me!”

A pedestrian stopped and looked over at them, but Zachary was not embarrassed. He smiled at the pedestrian and said, “This is my girlfriend! I made her angry this morning, so I’ve to appease her now.”

To an outsider, Zachary looked well-dressed and did not seem like a pervert. Moreover, he looked handsome and charming, and Yvonne was also stunningly beautiful. The two looked like a perfect match, which was why the pedestrian believed him.

Yvonne became even afraid as Zachary continued to drag her to his car. She lowered her head and bit him on the arm. Zachary had not expected her to do that, and he let her go out of pain.

Yvonne immediately turned to run away. Zachary’s arm was bleeding, and he growled in pain as he said, “What a violent woman you are!”

He was about to chase after her when he heard the screeching sound of brakes. When he turned around, he saw Jackson staring at him from within his car.

They were both well-known people, and Zachary felt somewhat embarrassed when he noticed Jackson staring at him. He laughed awkwardly and asked, “President Miller, what brings you to this part of town?”

Jackson plastered a fake smile on his face. “President Quimby. What are you doing?”

“Well, I won’t keep any secrets from you now that you’ve noticed. You should know how petty women are too. She wanted me to accompany her last night, but I couldn’t because I had matters to attend to. So she’s angry now. I came here to apologize, but she refused to accept my apology. You know how women are.”

Jackson’s ears stung when he heard what Zachary was saying. He chuckled coldly and said, “You’re a very affectionate person, aren’t you, President Quimby?”

“No, not really. I’m just playing along with the others. She is the only one that I have feelings for. I’ll introduce you to her some other day.”

“Have feelings?” Jackson’s eyes burned with anger as he unconsciously curled his hands into fists. “President Quimby, don’t you think your taste in women is deteriorating?”

“Is it that bad? I think it’s pretty good. She’s much better looking than the women I’ve played along with in the past. Don’t you think she’s much prettier than your secretary princess, Mr. Miller?” Zachary had a grin on his face as he unknowingly hurt Jackson’s dignity a little.

“Haha!” Jackson laughed coldly. “I’m just worried for you that she might have a terrible heart despite her gorgeous looks.”

The expression on Zachary’s face changed when he heard that. There weren’t any grudges between him and Jackson, which made him wonder why he kept taunting him. However, he did not feel like arguing with Jackson any further as his hand was throbbing in pain. “I’ll be leaving now. My little cat bit me so badly that I’ll have to get it treated at the hospital to make sure there isn’t any infection!”

As Jackson watched Zachary’s car speed off, he slammed a fist onto the steering wheel. ‘What a wh*re that woman was for being able to seduce Zachary Quimby that quickly. Shameless!‘
