chapter 3 (burial)

"Their body have been deposited at the private mortuary at the moment and Next week is the burial. Franca this is the darkest time I have ever experienced in my lifetime because I don't know what I could have been without Tashaster, please put your self together and let's look after what she had cherished most which is Niyola. Lola said placing her palm on Franca's forehead.

Lola knew there was more to the accident than the speculated drunken driving situation. Tasha had many business rivals and most of her business partners were at the party, so when she got home that night, she went into the monitor room to get the CCTV footage of the car park area where Benjamin had parked the car. she rummaged the tapes for hours until midnight and almost giving up when she saw the most unbelievable footage

"No! jasper"... Jasper you are a beast!, oh God Tasha doesn't deserve to die this way". she whispered as her eyes bulged with shock. how do I explain that my husband killed my benefactor! she remembered how Tasha had always warned her against jasper but she turned deaf ears to her warning because she was blinded by love or rather infatuated, she cried for a while and took the footage.

Niyola poured handful of sand on the coffin followed by the relative. jasper held tight on Lola who looks so pale like she was gonna pass out. the priest made the closing prayers and everybody dispersed.

Lola sent her driver to go and pick Franca up from the hospital the doctor has discharged her, she will only have to go for her wound dressing and check up from time to time. she was taken back to the maids quarters where she used to stay in the Adams resident. Lola also assigned a maid to attend to her needs.

after everybody has dispersed Lola wanted to have a word with Tasha's elder sister. "Rita, I was wondering if you will come over to my place tomorrow I have some of Tasha's possession with me,and I will like to declare them to you".

"huh, then I will have to cancel most of my schedule and I will give a call in night... by the way what time"? Rita asked

"anytime is fine" Lola replied.

Rita walked into the Brooke's mansion, "Hello rita" Lola greeted as she had seen her from the glass door. " Hi, how are you doing?

"they're having their swimming lesson at the pool. let's go" Lola said leading the way, Rita followed suit. Lola pointed her torch light and input a code on the bulkhead door leading to the basement. they got in and she turn on the light switch.

Tasha had invested in gemstone and jewelry because she believes it can be exchanged for money at any time.

Rita took the document and glance at it page by page for some time and drop it with a deep sigh. " Lola I don't need any of this, what I am after is Niyola because I won't be around to see her grow.

Jones stood up and address everybody "I welcome everyone here and especially Barr Umar for honoring our invitation, then he turn to Lola ." Mrs Brooke this meeting is for family members only, am sorry you will have to excuse us".

the lawyer interjected immediately. Mr Jones, Mrs Lola Brooke also has to be here because she have a lot in common with the late couple and also they are business partners. so her presence is important too. Letticia and others started murmuring.

Jones just suck it in and nodded, while Dale shot a very deadly glare at Lola because she's her love rival!
