EMILY'S POV
I was met with the beautiful sunset as soon as I opened my eyes. I had taken a nap because I was tired from all the preparations.
It was my birthday and I was going to be 18 and the party was going to begin soon.
Springing up from my bed, I dashed into my bathroom to take a relaxing bath.
I have been anticipating my 18th birthday for so long.
Turning 18 meant finding my mate and I was tired of being mateless.
"Hmmm…" I moaned in delight as soon as I was done taking my bath.
I dashed from my bathroom into my closet and swiftly, I threw on the already made dress for tonight's event.
"Yes! I hope I meet my mate tonight." I said to myself, as I admired myself in the mirror.
Though the mating convention was in a few days, I couldn't wait to meet my mate.
Putting on a little make up, I straightened up and I was ready.
My chin was held up high and the happiness in my eyes was obvious.
In a few seconds, I was already out of my room. I walked down the hallway leading to the stairs and as I got to the stairs, I halted.
The whole place was quiet and it did not look like a celebration was supposed to be happening.
"What's going on?" I said to myself and I was about to take a step when I spotted a drop of blood on the staircase.
I gasped as my eyes roamed over the staircase, there was blood all over and I panicked.
In the next second, I threw off my shoes and ran down the stairs.
"Mum!!" I shouted, as I got to the living hall. The smell of blood was heavy in the air and surprisingly I wasn't disgusted by it.
However, I did not think deeply into that. My parents were supposed to be preparing for the party but they were nowhere to be found.
The whole house was silent and there were decorations on the wall. My birthday cake was already set up and immediately my eyes zeroed in on specks of blood on the cake.
"What the fuck!" I said as I walked toward the cake and instantly I caught sight of a bloodied knife.
My heart skipped a bit as I bent down to pick the knife.
I couldn't think, my brain was in a mix.
"No!" I said, shaking my head slowly. I couldn't comprehend the fact that my parents may have been stabbed with the knife.
"No! My father is the Beta and he is powerful." I said, trying to convince myself.
I couldn't just conclude that my parents were stabbed and immediately I took the knife closer.
The blood smelt very familiar and I knew it was my mother's scent.
It did not interest me to know how I had concluded that it was my mother's scent. I immediately rushed toward anywhere I could find my parents in the house.
At this point, I was shaken with worry and my legs were starting to shake from all the running.
"What do I do?" I asked myself, as tears streamed down my eyes.
I was the only child of my parents and my father was the Beta of the Dark Wand Pack.
I did not know what I would do if anything happened to them. I would be all alone.
As tears continued to drop from my eyes, my head snapped to look at the door.
"They must be outside." I said to myself as I straightened up.
My legs moved toward the door and I started to hear voices that belonged to the members of the Pack.
"Why are they here? It's not time for the party yet." I said to myself and as soon as I opened the door, I was met with the angry faces of the pack members.
"What's going on?" I asked out loud, with worry in my eyes.
"You killed your parents." One of the pack members accused and I shook my head, frantically.
"No!! My parents are not dead. I did not kill anyone." I clapped back and immediately I ran into the crowd.
I was pushed around and I had several hits from them but then I did not relent in finding my parents.
"Where are they? Where are my parents." I asked, as I continued to push against the crowd.
Eventually, the crowd made way for me and I came face to face with the body of my parents.
They were dead!
"W-what? This is not true." I said, in a shaky tone as I felt my strength leave me. The knife I had been holding fell to the ground as I fell to my knees.
"Look, that's the knife she used to stab her parents." Another pack member screamed but I had no strength in me to refute them.
"Mum…dad…" I called out as my shaky hands reached out to them.
Their fingers and toes were cut off and I could see several stab wounds on their bodies.
"No!!" I shouted, in pain and agony as I held onto my mother's body.
Her blood rubbed off my elegant dress but I did not care.
"Come back! Now!!" I screamed as I just wanted my parents back. I felt like taking their soul and bringing it back but I was powerless.
I stood up and began to plead to the members of the pack.
"Please, help my parents. They can still be saved." I said. Somehow, I was convinced that my parents could still be saved even when their bodies had gone cold.
"What! You killed your parents and now you're begging us to save them? What impudence!" One of the pack members said and the others affirmed his words.
"No, I did not kill them. I took a nap and I woke to see that they were missing." I tried to explain to them.
However, I only received judging eyes.
"Maybe you killed them in your dream, then." A pack member said and they all burst into a peal of hilarious laughter.
I was in pain as no one wanted to listen to me. Their cruel laughter echoed in my head as I wondered if they were the same people who licked my father's boot.
"Get out of here." I heard a voice as I was pushed to the ground.
I was powerless and helpless as I fell to the ground.
The accusations and words from the members faded into the background.
The light in my eyes was gone as I clenched my fists.
The smell of my parents' blood was heavy in the air but then I couldn't comprehend why the pack members would accuse me of killing my parents.
"What's going on here?" I heard a deep male voice and an intoxicating scent wafted into my nose.
My head snapped in the direction of the voice and as the owner of the voice came closer, goosebumps lined my skin.
"Mate!" That word echoed in my head and my nipples puckered at the sight of Eric.
Eric is my mate!
I gasped as soon as I realized this. At this moment, everything felt funny to me.
I lost my parents and I found my mate, who turned out to be my childhood friend and the son of the Alpha.
"Eric!" I called out to him, in a meek tone. Deep in my heart I was glad that he was my mate.
I couldn't control myself as I crawled to meet him up.
Eventually, I stood up as I saw my hope in him. I wish he could take away the pain and stop the accusations leveled against me.
Looking up at Eric, I could see the surprise in his eyes. I was sure he was surprised that we turned out to be mates. But then I expected him to be joyous after being surprised.
"You killed your parents, Emily." He said to me and I frowned.
"You believe them, Eric?" I asked, with my hand on my chest.
The ache in my heart increased, tremendously, at his words.
I never expected such a question from him.
"Of course, I do. You had a knife in hand. We all know that no one invaded the Pack." He said, and I was stumped. He was here from the onset and he did not care to stop everyone.
"B-but…" I stuttered, trying to refute his words, but he cut me off immediately.
"Also, we all know that no one would dare to attack the Beta, except his own." He concluded and everyone else affirmed his words.
His words were like a gust of wind that threw me off my feet.
My knees met the ground and I felt like shouting to the heavens.
"But I'm your mate, Eric. You can't do this to me." I said, in a weak and shaky tone.
"You're so pathetic, Emily. Who wants a weak mate?" He said to me and I frowned, immediately.
"I'm not weak, Eric." I clapped back, with my hands clenched into tight fists.
It was the first time a person referred to me as weak.
I wasn't weak and I knew that. I just needed to train more and I would become one of the most powerful females in the pack.
However, in the next second, Eric burst into a cold and mocking laughter.
I was stumped that he would also ridicule me before everyone.
"You know me, Eric. I would never do such a thing to my parents. Believe me." I pleaded, forgetting the part where he had called me weak.
I just needed the embrace of my mate and he would help me forge through these difficult times.
"I do not have to believe you." He said to me, in a cruel tone.
With a cold look in his eyes, he declared, "I, Eric Gonzalo, reject you as my mate."
His words echoed continuing in my head and immediately I passed out.
EMILY'S POV I woke up with a start as the rays of the sun hit me. Squinting my eyes, I realized that I had been at the same spot where I passed out. I realized that I had slept through the dangerous hours of the night outside and all alone. Everything that had happened the day before flashed in my eyes. I was still dressed in my bloodied dress and the blood of my parents was all over. "Mum…dad…" I called out, not caring that I was sitting on the bare floor. The bodies of my parents had been evacuated and I started to panic. I did not get to spend my parents' last moments with them. When I thought I had enough pain, I remembered the rejection from my mate. "Eric." I said, in a low tone as I clutched the fabric around my chest. My eyes were hazy and it felt like I had lost connection with my wolf and the world. I just wanted to die but I couldn't do that without seeing my parents again. Immediately, I stood up to my feet and swayed a little. But then I blinked my eyes an
EMILY'S POV My eyes opened up and I was met with the beautiful night sky. How I wished my life was beautiful like the sky. My body felt heavy and weak as I clawed at the ground. My fingers and lips were cracked and I wished I could vanish in the next moment. But then reality was staring me right in the face and I couldn't run. The pain in my heart continued to increase as the sky served as the big screen, showing me what my life had turned into. "Haha…" I let out a mocking chuckle, as I struggled to stand up to my feet. My legs wobbled and I had to steady myself not to fall. I stunk of blood and grime and I just wanted to take off my dress. My dress would forever remind me of my sorrows and my birthday had turned into a cursed day. With my hands clenched into fists, I started to wobble my way back to the Beta mansion. And then I realized I was bare footed. Suddenly a voice floated into my ears, "Look at that thief. You shouldn't be like her." The voice said, and it was
Lightning flashed across the freezing sky, brightening the room out of its darkness for only a single moment. The rain pounded on, jolting the windows that thudded against each drop. The room was simple, a small wooden bookshelf filled to the brim was near the door, the walls were a navy color while the door was pitch black. It seemed like a hotel room. Whoever brought her here obviously didn’t want her to know where he stays or was also on the run from things she would rather not bother herself with. It was almost square, perhaps a little longer than it was wide, with only one window that filled almost the entire far wall. So far, completely blank and empty, it was expectant, almost curious, and Emily, lying timidly in the bed, staring at the ceiling. EMILY’s POV: I woke up in a bed that didn’t feel like mine. The sheets were a different color and they were made with a different fabric than mine. They had better quality, too. Even the pillows felt so soft. I had one un
“Sire! Sire!”, a servant barged into their dining room at lunch, sweating profusely as he fell face down at his father’s feet. He didn’t look like any of their own, and recognizing him was difficult as he laid facing the ground. Coming into the presence of the alpha uninvited was a great crime. And no one else dared to ask you to rise but the alpha himself. On most days, he did, and on the others, well, you just had to lay there until he decides what to make of you. Often times, defaulters were punished. And the punishment meant cutting off one of their fingers. With this in mind, whoever decided to barge in on the alpha was either of two things: either brave or stupid. And this servant really did look stupid laying there that way. His only luck was the regalia he wore. He belonged to The Watsons. The alpha knew today was their daughter’s eighteenth birthday, and he’d received a letter of invitation. He’d been at a few of her birthdays, but this one was important. It was her
In another part of the supernatural world, a pack of werewolves had lost their alpha, and a new one was needed. Panic and confusion was thrown in when The Order of their Elders consulted the Moon Goddess and she showed them a vision of who the new alpha was meant to be. It was a human. A weak, human male who probably didn’t know his entire life was about to change. He probably didn’t even believe in mythical creatures and would freak out if he found out that he was appointed as the new alpha of one of the most prestigious wolf families. The entire pack was thrown into confusion at this discovery, but nothing could be done about it. Although, there’s been a handful of wolf men in the past who were previously humans before they got turned, there has never been a case of one of them ascended up to the level of alpha, but now, not only was a human male going to be turned, he was also named alpha. There were doubts, but the Moon Goddess was never wrong. She never made mistakes, and for the
When Katrina realized the men she just beat up were gone, she hurriedly rushed to where the human alpha lay on the ground to pick him up. She understood that vampires needed blood to survive, hence the need to hunt for food. What she didn’t understand was why these four vampires had to beat this man to pulp. “They could have just sucked him dry instead. . .”, she thought to herself. “. . . they could have just easily done that. So why not? Why didn’t they?”, she continued with her thoughts, searching around with her eyes as if to find clue or answers scattered on the ground somewhere. There was nothing. Not even their scents were present anymore. She remembered when she used to go on missions like this, but this time the mission was different. It was to save a human, not to kill one. It proved difficult. She wasn’t used to saving things or people. She was a born killer. She killed her first pet. A rare, white bat her parents had gifted her on her seventh birthday. She h
She knew they would be back. The vampires. If they didn’t complete a kill, or whatever their mission they embarked on, they always came back with a swarm. They never moved alone. They move like a swarm of bats. Never alone. She wondered what they wanted to do with him and why they didn’t just feed off him. She was well aware vampires were involved in recent kidnappings due to their ability to move unnoticed and subtly, but this only occured with well planed strategies and fancy weapons and good cars and not this type of backstreet bullying. Whoever sent the men was either someone very influential who needed to trace him a lesson, or someone he had ratted out on. Someone who wasn’t very pleased with having him around anymore, but in the contrary, as she would later come to discover, it wasn’t either of the two scenarios she had made up in her head. It also dawned on her that the men didn’t have intentions of feeding off the man. They just wanted to give him a good beating
In the dawn that breaks without falling, before the dusk that rises with the bloodshot red emanating from all sides of the night sky, there was nothing comparable to the red in the eyes of the fangs lurking in the shadows. It was their strongest moments. The ones who saw through the blanket of nights that covered images in the darkest of skies where no normal human eyes could see. The blood suckers with fangs always as young and firm as their age in time. No one was too old to live and no one was too young to hunt. They hunted alike. Like the bats that crush down on insects at night, to the tiger tearing through the tears ripped on his prey by his teeth while on savage attack. The life force of all supernatural life forms, the vampires. The beings with the eternal ability to live through time and all they had to do was just to constantly renew their blood sacrifice by picking any young human they’d like to live in for the next five thousand years. It was also during this
As Tyler walked through the chambers of the vampire kingdom, his mind wandered back to the last time he had seen Emily. Months had passed since their chance encounter in a bustling nightclub, where they had shared an intense and passionate night together. They had both been consumed by the moment, swept away in a whirlwind of desire. But when Tyler had awakened the next morning, he found himself alone in the disheveled hotel room. Emily had vanished, leaving behind nothing but memories and unanswered questions. He had desperately searched for her, but all his efforts had been in vain. Now, the familiar scent that had enveloped him earlier became even stronger, leading him to the very heart of the vampire kingdom. And there she stood, Emily, before him once more.Unable to resist, Tyler reached out, pulling her into an embrace. All his emotions, longing, and unanswered questions surged to the surface. He held onto her tightly, unable to let go. Emily, too, felt the depth of their conne
Alpha Gerald, burdened by the disappearance of Emily and the unsettling capture of Tyler, devised a daring plan to confront the vampire queen, Sofia, and uncover the truth about Emily's whereabouts. He understood that gaining access to the throne of the Lycan king could serve as a strategic ploy to gauge Sofia's involvement. Dressed in his customary regalia, Gerald once again approached the foreboding castle where the vampire queen held court. The corridors felt eerily familiar, yet his resolve remained unshaken. He was determined to unravel the web of intrigue that surrounded him. As he entered the grand chamber, Gerald noticed a distinct tension in the air. The vampire queen sat upon her throne, exuding an aura of power and intrigue. He bowed before her, his eyes never leaving her gaze. "Your Majesty," Gerald began, his voice steady and composed. "I come before you once again to beseech your aid, not only for the sake of our kind but for the preservation of harmony b
Emily, driven by a thirst for knowledge and a relentless curiosity, had immersed herself in the study of vampire lore. Her research had led her to uncover intriguing clues about the enigmatic vampire queen, Sofia, and the possibility of accessing the throne that held immense power within the vampire realm. As Emily delved deeper into ancient texts and obscure manuscripts, she pieced together fragments of forgotten history. Legends whispered of a hidden ritual that, if performed correctly, would grant unparalleled authority and control over the vampire kingdom. It was said to be a path shrouded in darkness and treachery, where only the cunning and determined could succeed. Armed with newfound knowledge, Emily embarked on a perilous journey to gather the necessary artifacts and information. She traversed haunted ruins, sought guidance from wise scholars, and engaged with secretive covens, always staying one step ahead of those who would seek to thwart her ambitions. Howe
Alpha Gerald paced back and forth in the dimly lit chamber, his frustration mounting with every step. His meticulously planned ritual to unlock the ancient secrets contained within the Moon Book Chronicles of power had been disrupted, and the source of his frustration was none other than the absence of his prisoner, Emily. The room, adorned with ancient symbols and flickering candles, resonated with an air of malevolence as Gerald's mind raced to comprehend what had transpired. He had carefully selected Emily, a young woman with unique blood properties, as the key to open the Moon Book. Her lineage held a long-lost connection to the mystical energies required for the ritual. Alpha Gerald had spared no expense or effort in securing her captivity, but now she had vanished without a trace. As his mind grappled with the situation, Gerald's gaze fixated on the guards he had assigned to watch over Emily. They stood in a line, their expressions a mix of fear and confusion. He ha
A few weeks had passed since Emily gave birth to her baby, a beautiful little girl with a tuft of dark hair and piercing blue eyes. Despite the hardships she had faced, Emily couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of joy and love whenever she looked at her daughter. Living in the vampire community had its challenges, but Emily found solace in the protection it provided her and her child. She had managed to keep her pregnancy a secret, afraid that the werewolf pack would discover her whereabouts and try to take her baby away. Being among vampires offered a certain level of safety, but Emily knew she couldn't let her guard down entirely. As her daughter grew, Emily began to explore her new surroundings more extensively. She mingled with the vampire community, learning their customs, their history, and their political structure. It was during one of these interactions that she stumbled upon a shocking revelation: the vampire queen, Sofia, was her mother's sister. Th
The venomous poison coursed through Katherine's veins, its effects swift and merciless. As Tyler watched in horror, unable to save her, Sofia reveled in her triumph. The vampire queen's eyes gleamed with sadistic pleasure as she witnessed Katherine's agony. "I told you, Tyler," Sofia taunted, her voice dripping with venom. "Your refusal has consequences. Now, watch as your precious bodyguard pays the price for your defiance." Katherine gasped for breath, clutching at her throat, her face contorted in pain. The poison robbed her of strength, rendering her helpless against the lethal venom coursing through her body. Tyler's heart shattered as he witnessed the woman he admired suffering before his eyes. Desperation fueled Tyler's decision, and in that moment of anguish and grief, he made a choice he never thought he would. With tears streaming down his face, he turned to Sofia, his voice laden with despair. "Fine," he choked out, his voice cracking. "I'll accept your
As Tyler fought to free his bodyguard, Katherine, from the chains, Sofia, the vampire queen, watched with a mix of amusement and satisfaction. The dim light in the chamber cast eerie shadows on her face, accentuating her sinister beauty. She had planned this moment meticulously, knowing that separating Tyler from his trusted protector would weaken his resolve and make him more susceptible to her influence. Sofia approached Katherine, her steps graceful and predatory. A sly smile played on her lips as she extended a hand, offering assistance. "My dear Tyler, why do you struggle so? Accept your fate, and I promise to release Katherine unharmed. Join me in this world of eternal darkness, where power and pleasure await." Tyler's eyes blazed with fury as he glared at Sofia. "I will never surrender to you. Katherine has sworn to protect me, and I won't let you use her against me." Sofia chuckled softly, her voice laced with a hint of malice. "Ah, dear Tyler, you underestimat
In the dimly lit caves, Tyler, the Lycan king, fought alongside his loyal companions, his senses heightened in the face of imminent danger. The air was thick with tension as they ventured deeper into the unknown, their objective clear: to rescue Katherine, Tyler's personal guard, from the clutches of the vampire queen, Sofia. Their path was treacherous, littered with jagged rocks and hidden crevices. Sinister whispers echoed through the cavernous walls, adding an eerie ambiance to the already chaotic atmosphere. The group cautiously advanced, their weapons at the ready, their instincts honed for any sign of aggression. As they pressed on, the silence was abruptly shattered by a cacophony of screeches and growls. From the shadows emerged grotesque creatures, their twisted forms a nightmarish sight to behold. The creatures had gnarled limbs and razor-sharp claws, their eyes burning with an insatiable hunger. With a primal roar, Tyler lunged forward, his body shifting sea
An uneasiness settled over Tyler, Gerald, Victoria, and Eric as they stood in the dimly lit chamber, their eyes locked on the ominous figure of the vampire queen, Sofia. She had trapped them in her lair, her grip tightening around Katherine, whose life hung in the balance. Sofia had made her intentions clear: she desired Tyler as her mate, and she would stop at nothing to make it happen. As tension filled the air, the flickering torches cast eerie shadows on the chamber walls. A sudden movement caught Tyler's attention, and his heart skipped a beat. He squinted his eyes, trying to discern the source of the disturbance. The uneasiness escalated as the others too sensed the encroaching danger. Whispering a warning, Victoria pointed to the corner of the chamber, where the darkness seemed to grow denser. Gerald's instincts kicked in, and he unsheathed his blade, ready to defend his friends. Eric, ever resourceful, grabbed a nearby torch, illuminating the area where the shadows
