Attacks

The little girl changed into a big slender green creature with many little sharp teeth. It hissed and jumped at her. She was shocked but released an invisible wall. The creature hissed and changed its target to Jason. He jumped up in the air and sprayed a white powder on the creature before dropping to the ground and shooting its head.

He was breathing heavily by the time he squatted on one knee. Miriam was on the ground from the force. Her heart was still beating fast. She had been a hunter for more than 20 years, but that scary little creature almost ripped her apart.

"What's that?" Jason asked, squatting at the headless green creature

"Its Greeture" Jayer took a long stick from the ground and pushed its head aside.

"What's that? Never heard of it" Jason looked at the disgusting teeth

"You have a lot to learn. I believe this is the 10th different creature you have met so far. Better have a clear record of them and how they can be killed

"Yes, sir," Jason replied jokingly. Miriam got up from the ground shaking the dry leaves out of her clothes and taking out her Katana," That thing almost made a fool out of me" she could not believe it.

"It's okay, honey. Thank goodness we killed it. We would've been like them" Jason looked at the bodies lying on the dry brown leaves and pondered.

"Why would it be here?" Jayer wondered out loud. It was rare to see a Greeture around there. Unless its nest was nearby and someone agitated it. It was a rare creature to attack people, and if it was agitated, it could kill anyone on its way. It can transform into humans and back—very intelligent creatures and dangerous. The only way to kill it is to blow or cut its head off.

Looking around for a little while, the family went back home in darkness. It's always a tiring day for Jason. School, training, and hunting. But he loved the adventure.

Writing down everything he had experienced on that day, he went to bed. He had a long day in school, and he needed sleep.

School had been one hell of a place for Jason and his friends. He was a quiet person even at home, but he was fun to be around with his friends.

Like every day, Jason and Max would be bullied by the basketball captain and his friends. It was expected that they didn't fight back.

DustVille town had been forgotten for a long time, with few people coming from outside. Everyone knew everyone. Even the cats and dogs were known.

Jason and Max went to school as usual on this day. The day went by so fast, with the classes consuming time without notice. Max and Jason decided to pass by the river for a quick swim before going home.

With the rise of animal attacks in the town, the river was a restricted area.

As they went down the narrow wood path to the river, the sound of birds and rustling of the dry leaves could be heard.

"Did you see the chick behind your desk? She was so beautiful. I want to ask her out soon" Max Slapped Jason Mackenzie on his shoulder excitedly.

"Then you should hurry. Mike, the basketball Captain, has his eyes on her" Jason laughed lightly, informing his friend.

"What? Why do you say that?"

He stopped and looked into his friend," I saw him with his psycho friends talking to her. They will force her into it soon."

"They are not the right crew to mess with. It's best if I let her go," Max said in a dispirited tone.

"Come on, man. You can fight for her. I mean, you are powerful and better off compared to me." Jason joked about his friend's physic. It was quite the opposite. Jason was well built with strong physic due to training. On the other hand, Max looked thin and could fall with a slight push.

"Why do you always make fun of my body? But yes. I am stronger than you. Did you see how I pushed Jersey and his team when they attacked us last time? I am sure they would not want to mess with us again."

"But you received several punches in return," Jason laughed, remembering the day and what happened afterward.

"Man, I wish they would leave us alone," Max said emotionally, thinking of what they have gone through at the hands of those bullies.

"The only way is to be strong to fight them back. Remember the strong rule of the world," Jason answered as the lake came to view. He knew he could fight them all, but he didn't want to expose himself and his family. Recently the town had been organizing a hunting party for werewolves. Of course, they think it's wolves.

"I need the cold shower. The day has been hectic" Max ran over to the late, taking his clothes off and throwing them to the side before jumping in. Jason ran after him, also doing the same. He threw the bags aside, took his shirt off, and jumped in his shorts. He shuddered the moment his body hit the water.

"It's so cold," Jason screamed as the cold penetrated his body

"That's what I am talking about. It's so cold and nice." Max answered, laughing out loud, jumping deeper into the water.

"I am getting out. It's so cold for me." Jason said as he tried to get out of the river

"Don't ruin the fun. Enjoy." Max tried to convince him as he back swam facing his friend.

At that moment, he looked over Jason's head and saw a group of people approaching them. His factious expression changed abruptly, and fear was clearly visible.

"What's up. You look as if you have seen a ghost," Jason asked Max as he turned in the water to look where he was staring at.

"Cause have seen them," Max gulped down, saying in a low tone, but Jason had already seen the 'ghosts.' He frowned. He swam faster to the river bank, trying to get his stuff. Max tried to get out, but he was far from the bank. He could only swim to the other end of the river.

It was hard being under the assault of Mike and his group.
