Chapter 83

Emelda's POV.

My head throbbed with a dull ache as I squinted against the bright light streaming through the window.

It seemed like I had just woken up from a deep slumber of three to five days.

"Where am I?" I wondered, my heart racing as I darted my eyes from our corner of the strange room to the other.

The room was really unfamiliar, the air stale and dusty, and the walls barely covered with worn out paints already falling off from the wall.

I tried to remember what had happened, but my memories were fuzzy, fragmented by the haze of the night before.

Slowly, I tried to sit up from the bed but my head spun so badly that I stumbled back to the bed.

I rested for a while before pulling myself back up again, this time, despite the headache, I was successful.

My stomach clenched with fear as I began to pace the room, my fingers grasping at my hair as I searched for clues, for anything that might explain where I was and how I had gotten there.
