Chapter 40

Bryan's POV

The loud noise we heard earlier sounded again, this time louder and unable to ignore as it vibrated across the walls.

Emelda's eyes, like an automatic robot, moved from me and fell at the door.

With the noise too loud to ignore, I dashed out of the room.

As I stormed out of the room, my mind clouded with rage and frustration, I barely registered Emelda's footsteps behind me.

“What's all these?” I asked, irritated by the persistent banging.

I allowed Emelda's words telling me to calm down to fall on deaf ears as I made my way towards the sitting room, my heart still pounding in my chest as I tried to calm my racing thoughts.

And then, just as I was about to turn the corner into the sitting room, The loud noise sounded again, this time clearer from within.

The noise came from our very door. Someone has been banging on it.
