Chapter 135- Devil's Verdict

Laura was the only one sweating in the courtroom as she stood in the dock. She was facing the judge to pass her sentence today.

Raymond held Grace's hand more tightly. It was obvious that her case deserved a death sentence. She had killed more than one occasion.

The only thing that could save her was the exceptional quality of her attorney. That was not so sure.

Raymond looked at her again. She was afraid, young, helpless and ashamed. He felt pity for her. The only reason he was not regretting her over right now was because that cleared Grace's name. If not, he would be fighting with himself.

Laura was looking round the courtroom. She was definitely searching for a comforting face but she wouldn't find that here.
