Angel
His lips caressed mine, his hands sliding down my naked waist and settling on my hips.
“Finally,” he muttered, a smile of relief on his lips. His face was blurry, pretty much covered by the shadow of the night. Not even my wolf vision could catch much more than his delicious fleshy lips and stubble. I didn’t know who this man was, but I wanted him more than anything now.
The smile on my face was bright and clear as he pulled me closer to his arms.
“I missed you, Lil, even before our first meeting, I missed you every day. I knew that one day I would finally find the woman, the force of nature, that would light up my heart.” His sweet words echoed into my mind and made me moan as much as the way his hands were running up and down my spine.
A jolt of electricity consumed my body. Were those the damn butterflies in the stomach all the teen wolf magazines talk about? My butterflies seemed to be either lost or drunk cause they were everywhere. Every inch of my body he touched felt good and came to life.
“I missed you even more!” I flashed him a huge smile, nibbling his bottom lip and making him chuckle. Goddess, the sound of his chuckle did things to me!
Suddenly, my body felt heavy, as if I was pulled away from him.
I could feel how his body tensed as he realised I was about to go away. His hands held mine, his touch firm but gentle. “I will see you again very soon. Come back to me, Lil. I will find you,” he murmured in my ear before I woke up with a startle.
A sigh left my lips, it wasn’t real.
Holy damn, I didn’t know who that sexy piece of a man was since I could hardly see his face. But one thing I knew for sure: he wasn’t Aaron. He wasn’t my mate. So, why did I want to sleep again only to dream about him?
The way he called me — Lil — it sounded special, good. No one had ever called me like that; everybody just called me Angel or Angeline. Goddess, even this nickname had me swooning, I needed a fan! I was so hot and bothered, and my heart was beating faster than the wings of a garden fairy.
“It’s just a dream, Angel! A silly dream and I guarantee that the reality – our Alpha — is much better!” Sia told me, barking and yawning into my mind.
She was right: it was only a dream, and Alpha Aaron was my reality, my future.
Blinking twice, I looked at the possessive hand on my belly as Aaron pulled me towards his chest and pressed his erection against my almost naked butt. Frankly, I didn’t understand how the man could keep it up all the time. It must be an Alpha thing.
Exhaling deeply, I went back to sleep. Tomorrow was my big day, and I had to be well rested; Aaron told me more than once that after he started with me, he wouldn’t take his hands off me for days in a row. The Alpha was hungry and Sia loved the idea of being his prey. I, on the other hand, was trying to roll with it until the mate bond could make me feel less numb to put the broken pieces of my heart back together.

The next morning, I was getting ready with the Beta female and a dozen Omega ladies. Soon the guests would arrive, and the Mating Ceremony would start. Aaron made it a big party and invited all Alphas and Lunas within the Realm, even the King and Queen, but they had to decline the invitation due to some family issues. Their daughter was in some kind of mess with her mate — rumour said that they hated each other.
Looking at the clock on the wall, I sighed deeply. Neither Julia nor little Stella were here yet, and I really wanted to get ready with them. I missed my little Buttercup more than anything. Before Dad’s death, I never let Stella go to sleep without reading her a story. Now she has had many nights without her fairytales – yes, she seemed to be obsessed with Fae people stories.
“Cindy, do you happen to know when my friend Julia is coming?” I asked the Beta female and she shook her head.
“I don’t know, Dear. But now you have more important things to think about. What lipstick do you prefer? Mauve or hot lilac? The one you picked originally doesn’t match the eye shadow. It’s hard to find colours that fit your bright ginger hair, ” she told me, showing a box of lipsticks. It wasn’t the first time we talked about lipsticks and all things hair and make-up today. The whole thing was exhausting, and I swear, if Cindy spends two more minutes talking about different shades of whatever, I will lose my sh*t!
“Just choose it, Cindy. You seem to know a lot about this stuff!” I told her, trying to conceal my impatience. We would have to work together from now on, so it would be good if we stayed on good terms.
“Sure, but remember Dear, a Luna should always look impeccable; otherwise, people might think that her Alpha can’t take care of her and if he can’t take care of his woman, what can he do for the whole pack?” she asked with a smile, and I only nodded, hardly registering her nonsense.
“Julia, are you and Stella coming?” I decided to mind-link my friend. It would be easier this way. Sia was still a very young wolf, so mind-linking wasn’t very easy and it brought me a headache.
“Oh, Angel. I am so sorry. We can’t make it, but we will meet at your Ceremony. I am sure it will be beautiful and full of happiness,” she replied. Weird, it really sounded like she was leaving something out.
Anyway, I would see her in two hours or so, and when we could talk more, I would get to the bottom of it. Before the official ceremony, Aaron wanted to introduce me to what he called everyone important in the Realm — Alphas, Lunas and Betas.
My eyes roamed to the absurdly shining golden dress Cindy picked for me. The skirt was so big that I felt like I was in a mediaeval movie. Surely, a Pixie family could live under this damn thing.
As soon as I was ready, I headed to the balcony and took a long inhale of fresh air. Goddess! How I missed being alone, being in nature and breathing without being suffocated by make-up, hairdressers, and so many people after me thinking that a damn dress is the most critical thing in the universe.
“Angel, don’t be grumpy! This is the best day of our lives! Be happy, smile!” Sia told me, shaking her head in my mind.
“I am happy to be with Aaron, to be his mate and to officialise our union, our love. I just wish I could do it more my way and have my girls with me.” I replied.
“Focus on the love and magic of this day. Today we, Aaron, and his handsome wolf will be one!” Sia let out a dreaming howl. She had only met Aaron’s big, and according to her, virile and sexy wolf once. Still she was always drooling for him.
She was right. I should breathe deeply and focus on my destiny.
Wait, something seemed off. My gaze roamed around, inspecting my surroundings.
“I feel it too. Someone is watching us.” Sia told me, and I swallowed deeply. I couldn’t even attempt to fight whilst wearing such a dress, not even if I had trained as I wanted to.
“Little one, you are here,” I heard Aaron’s voice and turned around, a breath of relief leaving my nostrils, “Let’s come inside, the elite of the Realm is waiting for us.”
“Aaron, I think someone was watching me,” I told him as we walked towards the dining hall where the ranked wolves were.
“That’s impossible. You are safe. There are no intruders in the pack, only the guests. Besides, no one would be crazy to approach my pack house and dare to touch my future Luna,” he reassured me, squeezing my hand.
“How about the people that attacked the pack a few days ago when my dad-I heard that they were different, powerful and nothing like anyone here had seen before?” I asked.
“Sweetheart, don’t think about those things! Focus on the party, on us. You know how wolves exaggerate, and how lazy Omegas like to gossip,” he told me. What? That couldn’t be farther from the truth! I was about to reply that Omegas were very hard working, much more than many ranked wolves when we entered the dining hall.
“Good afternoon, Alphas, Lunas, Betas. I am officially introducing you to my Luna-to-be: Angeline,” Aaron addressed the people. Among them I could see Luna Clair and Alpha Hunter, and I smiled at them. They were amazing people and very close to my cousin Bea. I was glad they were here and I wasn’t only surrounded by uptied strangers.
Looking behind my shoulder, I saw someone entering the room. By his structure and the way he held himself, he could only be another Alpha.
“I am sorry for the delay,” he told Aaron, and my mate nodded formally.
“Don’t worry, Alpha Blake” he said and the man walked in. His stare was fixed on me even after he joined the others; it was more than weird and made me feel uncomfortable. Yet, my mate didn’t seem to notice anything. Was it all in my head? No, that couldn’t be. What could this Blake Alpha guy possibly want to do with me? I’d never seen him before.
As Omega ladies came to the room carrying flutes of Fairy Wine, Aaron and I walked around the room to greet all the ranked wolves. That was when my gaze met a pair of hazel eyes and I felt my birthmark tingle. Who was this man? For his aura he felt like an Alpha.
As soon as I could move my eyes away from his beautiful eyes, I noticed how handsome he was with a straight nose, and fleshy lips surrounded by a growing beard. His chin was chiselled to perfection as well. But my feasting eyes refused to stop there and roamed down to his large shoulders and muscular frame. I could even see the ripples of his abdomen outlined on his tight shirt.
Sia’s bark in my mind broke the magnetic spell and made me pull my gaze away. What was wrong with me! I’d never eye-stripped anyone before.
Stop it Angel, you have a mate!
It wasn’t about desire or lust. No, it was something else, an odd feeling I had never experienced before. Intense, beautiful and disturbing.
Weirdly enough, I also felt a tingle in my heart and something stirred inside my soul; I felt as if I was waking up from a long slumber. I’ve never seen this man before, I didn’t even know his name. So, why did he feel so familiar? Why did I feel as if I have been looking for him my whole life without even knowing it?
AngelI looked again at the hazel-eyed man, and my mark tingled for a second time. This time, the feeling radiated all over my body, making goosebumps rise everywhere. Nope, those weren’t the sexy kiss-my-neck goosebumps but rather the haunting ones.Even though his beautiful eyes, and his very presence brought me some comfort, his intensity shook my whole being, pushing to the surface feelings that I’d been ignoring.Inhaling deeply, I opened my eyes wide and tried to get my bearings just like someone who wakes up from a strange and uncomfortable dream. The kind of dream in which you try to turn on the light, except there is no lamp, only darkness surrounds you. It doesn’t matter how hard you try, you can’t open your eyes.Yet, now it seemed that my eyes were wide open with the haze fading away from my mind. Somehow, the simple fact of looking at this stranger’s hazel eyes made me wake up.“Grant, come here,” someone, probably his Beta, called him aside and after giving me one last lo
AngelThe words were stuck in my throat as Alpha Aaron’s hand wrapped around my neck, putting enough pressure to prevent me from breathing.Spurts of fur surged on his arms, and his gleaming eyes zeroed in on me as he released a loud guttural howl.“You fucking mutt! Do you think a little bitch like you can reject me? You can’t! But I won’t have a low creature such as yourself as my Luna. The Moon Goddess will give me someone worthy of me and my pack; a second chance mate to correct the flagrant mistake of this match!” he yelled, the words radiating from him in waves of anger. My hands reached up slowly, and since my body was too weak to fight, I failed to push his strangling hand away.“Angel, he will reject us. There is no way we will survive rejection. We are too weak now with this much wolfsbane. I can hardly feel my tail! He can’t do this!” Sia whimpered in my mind, her voice weaker than a whisper. She was right, our chances of survival were low, and the Alpha didn’t seem to care
AngelSoon, a tall man with onyx-coloured eyes, as dark as two abysses, entered the place. My wary eyes inspected him cautiously as I tried to find out who and what he was. He looked normal, except for the grey wick of hair in the middle of his otherwise very dark hair. I’d never seen a werewolf with grey hair before – it wasn’t a thing since our kind doesn’t age. Even without being able to smell his scent, something told me that he wasn’t a regular werewolf. My eyes moved around the room as I heard a strangled gasp; it came from one of the tall and sturdy warriors, he was now pressing his back against the wall like a scared child. What the hell? I looked at the other three elite fighters, and they also seemed really affected by the newcomer’s presence, making way for him swiftly and moving their gazes down as if the man was their Alpha. My brows raised in confusion. I didn’t understand anything. I, too, could feel his heavy and odd energy. But this man wasn’t an Alpha. Even weirder t
ZohraFollowing Beta Roger, I headed to the warehouse. Before entering it, the foul smell of sulphur combined with blood assaulted my nostrils. My hands fidgeted with the hem of my uniform blouse as I sensed something seriously wrong. I didn’t want to partake in whatever that something was, but I had no choice when it came to Alpha Blake’s orders; after all, I was only a rankless wolf and the only working nurse at this time. Alpha Blake wasn’t a good man; to put it simply, he was old school and made sure we — the wolves of his pack — feared and obeyed him.“Why is she taking so long to die?” I heard Alpha Blake’s angry voice.Someone replied to him, not seeming the least affected by his expanding Alpha’s aura, “Do exactly as I said, Blake! I have to leave now, I can’t wait until this girl decides to die!” The male voice was filled with authority, making me wonder who could speak in such a manner to an Alpha, and even worse, to our proud and reckless Alpha.“It’s already done, Elijah!
Grant My fingers twined with hers as I pulled her towards the forest gently, “Slow down, Grant!” she giggled, her voice sweet and filled with joy. As soon as I slowed down, she pulled her hand away from mine and started running. “This is a race now, Grant! And you are about to lose it!” she chuckled, leaving me behind. Sweet Angeline, I could lose anything, but I didn’t want another moment without touching you, having you in my arms. Rushing, I reached her, and in a swift movement, I captured her in my arms. She playfully pushed me between giggles and I covered her smiling face with kisses. “You won, Angeline. Now, I will give you your prize!” I told her, scooping her up in my arms and sitting under the shadow of a large tree with her snuggled into my lap. “What is the prize? I hope it is something good. It’s not every day some rankless female defeats an Alpha!” she laughed, her blue eyes looking so clear under the soft light that filtered down from the gaps in-between the tree
Grant I was sat at the meeting table surrounded by the four Elders and Beta Dexter, yet my thoughts were with Angeline, and my eyes on the clock on the wall. Stormy’s worry and urgency were only growing, and so was mine. Since I agreed to follow my instincts, I could feel it clearly; there was something wrong happening to her. Why I could feel it, I didn’t know. The only connection between “us” was my passion and my dreams, seeing that Angeline didn’t even know I existed. But that didn’t matter, and I had to see to her safety. “This damn meeting is taking too long! We have to go now, Grant!” Stormy growled in my mind, pacing back and forth, completely restless. “What about paragraph eight, page nine, of the directive you wrote on what to plant on the right wing of the pack behind the forest? Explain it to us, Grant,” Elder Sylvio asked, looking between me and the pile of paper he had in his hands. Every little thing I did was the object of a careful inspection. “I researched o
Angel Inhaling deeply, I took in the fresh air of the night. I almost felt alive, but not quite. My legs moved fast towards my destination, and looking behind my shoulder, I saw nurse Zohra walking much slower. It might be risky to roam like this in the middle of the pack, but my scent was concealed and everyone was sleeping deeply. According to Zohra, the morning training only started in two and a half hours. I told Zohra about my idea, and even though she was hesitant at first, she agreed to help me with it – at least partially. Before the first light, we headed to the Alpha’s mansion with matches, lighter and flammable liquid in hand. “You are sure that no Omegas or working staff are in the house, right?” I asked once again. That was the only thing I was nervous about; apart from that, any fear I could have had, seemed to have remained dead when I was reborn. I wouldn’t hurt someone innocent in my quest; from this pack, I only needed the horrible Alpha Blake, his j.erk of a
Grant I looked at the forest from the window of the SUV, wishing that this thing could go faster, even though we were driving as fast as it was safe to. We were in two cars: my Gamma and I in one and a few pack enforcers in the vehicle behind ours. Stormy and I were both growing more restless by the minute, something was definitely happening to Angeline. “Let’s shift and run!” Stormy insisted with a loud growl. I wanted to do what he said, but I had to be cautious not to cause a problem for Angel, my pack or myself. “We can’t just arrive at someone’s pack this way, Stormy. It would raise some kind of suspicion. Alpha Aaron will wonder what the hell we are doing there. Remember, this is a diplomatic visit to discuss the acquisition of wood.” “The only wood you should care about is the one in your pants, Grant!” my wolf barked in annoyance. Every time after dreaming of her, I spent the rest of the day with an almost full e.rection; something that not even my growing worry seemed
Angeline“Angeline,” Dora’s voice had me turning around, and I looked at her in my mind. It was different from when I heard or saw her in our shared mind. I was here with her, only a few steps away.
Angeline“If you want, it would make me very happy to lead this pack by your side. You make me a better man, and a better Alpha Angeline,” he said in my mind, sending the tender dash of his love through our bond.
AngelineI buried my face in the column of Grant’s neck, letting his embrace wash me over with comfort. My nerves are strained, and I have been a little fidgety since I woke up. Maybe everything that happened, the battle, the changes and the bond were catching up with me.
GrantI entered the small white room, closing the door behind me. Gina was curled on her bed, the bags under her eyes and the paleness of her face showing how worn-out she was.
GrantWe arrived at our pack late in the night, heading straight to our room, where I got to sleep with my mate in my embrace. I placed a kiss on Angeline’s head, and she snuggled further into my embrace, a blissful smile stretching across her lips.
AngelineGrant’s canines sank on me, and the time stopped. The moon mark on my belly pulsated like a second heart. Soft blue light enveloped me, filling me with calmness, strength, peace and an ounce of guilt. His love for me pulsated like a warm blanket covering my body and tucking at my chest.
GrantAngeline and I proceeded to check the ruined car. Surveying its surroundings, she found a few pieces of torn clothes.“I can’t find my phone, but it’s not that important. I can always count on Dora’s super-reaching mind-link abilities.” She shrugged her shoulders.Fortunately, the two elite guards who escorted us here weren’t dead, only harmed to the extent of unconsciousness. The king’s army transported them to the Royal Pack where they could receive immediate treatment. They would be fine.I hauled another sign of relief. Losing lives lives of my pack was a fucking bane, a burden I would never bear with ease. And I shouldn’t. Their lives matter and always will. After gazing around the half-burnt trees of the empty meadow, Angeline joined me, melting into my embrace. We were finally alone. The King left after Angeline and I told him about Elijah’s first attack and how Alpha Blake played a role in Angeline's kidnap.“I thought he would be royally enraged, we didn't tell him ever
AngelineSia’s death replayed in Cal’s and our shared mine.“Angel, I think this is dark magic! We will die. I love you, and I am so sorry I wasn’t a good enough wolf to you. I am sorry I couldn’t protect you!” her last words were a distant echo, and so was the icy pain spreading through my soul as I wasn’t able to reply to her. She was already gone. I could never tell her that she was enough and I loved her too.I was so empty without my Sia, my soul unable to reach hers.More words ricocheted in my mind, from the moment I first met Dora, but refused to let go of my first wolf. “Sia is gone. She sacrificed herself in an attempt to save you. Her soul shielded yours, and consequently, she took the hardest hit of Elijah’s dark magic.”Sia sacrificed herself for me!“And I will do it as many times as it takes!” Cal growled, lunging on Elijah.“No!” I screamed in my mind, I couldn’t lose my Cal-Sia again. They were the same wolf, even though they seemed like polar opposites, they always d
AngelineI had to spill it out! After taking a long and deep breath, I started, “Grant, I’m not your friend. We can’t be friends—”He interrupted me with a low growl. “Sorry, I couldn’t control the growl. I know I’m imposing Angeline. I have no right over you and I shouldn’t be here when you told me not to. After we talk to the king, I will be out of your life.” He didn’t do a good job concealing the sorrow in his voice.“No!”Grant’s head reared back, forehead creasing at my protest as he threw me a confused look.I slurred, “I mean … that’s not what I want. I can’t be your friend because it’s too little and I want so much more. I want everything. I-it will be hella hard to look at what I can’t have every day, but I want to support you with your pup, be part of it with you. I want us to have-be a family in the way we can. I love you and in the end I can’t even imagine a life without you. It might be complicated and hard. You probably don’t want that and I’m just here rambling like an
