CHAPTER 4

When Isabella turned around, she was very surprised by the sight before her. A handsome, blue-eyed man with an athletic chest and straight shoulders. He was absolutely perfect, but also a nightmare!

"What are you doing here, Miss Swan?"

Isabella blinked after hearing the voice in front of her. The man was Felix, Felix Kingston, CEO of Alpha Company and boss of her twin sister, Irene. "Ah-yeah, I was... doing something with the info board here, Mr. Kingston."

How did Isabella know that the man was Felix? Because Felix's face was everywhere. He was the CEO who appeared in Forbes magazine, successful before thirty. His face was also plastered on billboards, the awards he had won, had made him very popular, and that made it easier for Isabella to recognize Felix in this office.

Felix was walking alone when he met Isabella. Isabella was in her disguise as Irene, and she hoped that Felix would not realize it until the end.

"You know that my schedule is really tight, right?"

"Y-yes, Mr. Kingston."

"So why are you relaxing here instead of going back to your desk to work? And, why are you wearing a red blazer? You know that I really hate that color, right? It's a very tacky color."

Hearing that, Isabella immediately gasped. The handsome man who suddenly warmed Isabella's chest, turned out to be good at saying spicy things. It was beyond Isabella's expectations of this man.

Isabella also looked at herself from top to bottom, she felt there was nothing wrong with her clothes-or her appearance. And was it supposed to be a problem for Isabella if Felix hated the color red?

"Damn, he is an arrogant boss," Isabella said in her heart.

But what came out of Isabella's mouth was, "You don't like the color red? Should I take my clothes off here, Mr. Kingston?"

Felix's face turned red. He felt humiliated by Isabella's frontal remarks. He cleared his throat and turned his face the other way. "You should have replaced your clothes with a doormat. Now, you must come to my room."

"Doormat?!"

Felix walked away leaving Isabella in his wake, while Isabella held back the curses and harsh words she should have given Felix.

"If I hadn't been impersonating Irene, I would have sworn him off as a frog! She's such a bitch!"

"Who's a bitch?"

The voice startled Isabella, again. After Felix, now stood before her another man, and he was no less handsome than Felix. Was this company becoming popular because of these handsome men?

But Isabella's lips were locked tight. She didn't know who the man in front of her was, but couldn't go around asking him frankly either. So silence and waiting was the best option for Isabella.

"Want to go to the room together?"

Okay, Isabella did not know where Irene's room was and apparently, the man in front of her could help. Isabella also nodded her head agreeing to his offer. They both walked after Felix who had just entered the elevator.

The man's hand held the elevator, so Felix needed to raise one eyebrow with an annoyed expression in there. "Can you guys get in now? This elevator door could break if you hold it like that, Nick."

Nick? Was he Nicholas? Alpha Company's lawyer?

Nicholas chuckled, he went straight into the elevator and made way for Isabella. "Please, Miss Swan."

Again and again, Isabella was stirred from reverie. She lost her focus because of the two handsome men who were now standing to her right and left. If Isabella could describe the two characters, Isabella would see Felix as a mysterious cold man who was charming, while Nicholas was a sweet warm man. Isabella suddenly smiled at the wild thought of Felix and Nicholas.

"Why are you smiling?"

Felix's voice made Isabella gasp. She turned her head in fear and shook her head. "N-No, everything is fine."

TING!

The elevator doors finally opened. Isabella followed behind Felix and Nicholas who walked first. From their chatter, it seemed like the two of them were already very close. Isabella stopped when Felix walked into a room, and Nicholas noticed.

"Irene, why did you stop?"

"Um? Yes? I thought... I should go back to my room," Isabella said trying to make an excuse.

But Nicholas smiled instead. He opened the door and said, "Your room is inside, you work with Felix. Did you forget because of the stress of working with him?"

Isabella's face turned red. She was so embarrassed. She should have sought more information before posing as the CEO's personal secretary in this company. Or at least, she should have exchanged a lot of information with Irene before Irene got engaged to Rudolf and got engaged.

Isabella immediately sat down at her desk. She had a desk that was quite far from Felix's, but still across from each other. And from this position, Felix could see Isabella, and vice versa. Meanwhile, Nicholas sat on a sofa in the middle of the room, as if he was used to doing that and Isabella tried to analyze all the movements of the two men in the room.

"I want to complete the Hartono Company acquisition process immediately. When can you do it?"

From the way he spoke, Isabella drew the conclusion that Felix was a man who was to the point, he didn't like doing things in vain.

Isabella's heart raced as she adjusted to the sudden reality of being in Felix's office. She glanced at her computer screen, pretending to focus on it while sneaking glances at Felix. He was immersed in the documents, exuding an aura of intensity that made the room feel even smaller. Nicholas, on the other hand, sat comfortably on the sofa, seemingly unaffected by the tension in the air.

"Irene, I need the quarterly report on my desk this afternoon," Felix said, without looking up from his papers.

Isabella's mind raced. The quarterly report? Where would Irene keep them? She hoped her sister had a logical filing system. "Of course, Mr. Kingston," she replied, hoping her confident tone masked the panic within her.

Felix looked up, his blue eyes boring into Irene. "And make sure it's perfect. We'll present it to the council tomorrow."

"Of course," she said, forcing a smile. "I'll work on it right away."

She turned to her computer, clicking through various folders and documents. Her fingers moved quickly over the keyboard, but her mind was in turmoil. How long could she survive this charade without Irene's expertise? She had to buy time and find a way to contact her sister.

Nicholas watched her, his warm gaze offering little comfort in the midst of the storm. "Need a favor, Irene?" he asked casually, as if sensing her turmoil.

Isabella hesitated. Asking for help could expose her, but refusing it would probably look suspicious. "I think I can, but thank you, Nick."

He nodded, looking satisfied. "Alright, but remember, I only have to call."

Felix cleared his throat, drawing their attention. "Nick, we need to discuss the merger with Hartono Company. Can you come here to check a few things on this laptop of mine?"

Nicholas got up from the sofa, stretching his slender frame before moving to Felix's desk. "Of course, Felix. Let's get started."
