"Zac, I’m so scared." Gwen could not hold it in anymore and leaned into Zac’s arms.

How could she not be scared?

She was the one who pushed me into the basement, where I was tortured to death.

My mom gave Gwen a long, hard look. She opened her mouth a few times, but nothing came out.

It wasn’t until we left the police station that Gwen finally dared to take a few deep breaths.

When we got home, my mom began searching through the house. "Where’s her small cross necklace?"

After repeated questioning, Gwen nervously avoided eye contact and eventually admitted it had been thrown into the basement long ago.

It seemed like my mom finally realized something. Her hurried steps betrayed the calm facade she had been trying to maintain.

The basement was truly dark, and even the usual lights were broken.

A cold wind swept through, and I could not help but shiver.
