Chapter 162: Confessions and Clarity

"I think I... I think I'm going to lie down for a bit," I said, still feeling the aftereffects of the vision.

I needed to put some distance between myself and Ryder. Everything was happening so fast, and I wasn't ready for it. I still needed time to process. I wasn't even sure that things between him and me could ever be the same again, but to be thrown into situation after situation where it felt like everything was okay, but I knew it wasn't, was confusing and disorienting.

Ryder took the hint and said, "I've got work to do anyway, but call me if you need anything."

He headed back to his studio, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Once he was gone, I groaned and knocked my head against the bathroom wall behind me. I felt so torn and confused.

It was one thing when the visions were of memories, but visions of the future were something else entirely. It gave me that weird uncanny feeling, like I was seeing something I wasn't supposed to.
