Chapter 161: Blurred Lines

The sensation was different this time. Instead of feeling like I was falling backward through the floor, it felt like I was being sucked through a black hole. It was a tug that seemed to emanate from my chest and pulled me forward violently through space and time. It felt similar to the way the tide seemed to pull at me when Tyler and I stood on the shore, allowing the waves to ebb and flow over our feet, only about a million times more powerful.

Suddenly, I found myself in what appeared to be Ryder's bedroom, but the vision was blurry this time, not clear like the others had been. Ryder stood at my side, his image the only thing that was clear and crisp as his hand clutched mine while his chest heaved slightly. Clearly the slip had taken a physical toll on him too.

"Why's it so blurry?" he asked, looking around the room with confusion.

It was kind of like everything was covered by a veil of some sort, or there was a weird layer of frosted glass that separated us from our surroundings
