2.

Logan woke up hours later in a daze, his head pounding. He tried to process where he was and how he'd ended up in the room.

As he struggled to place together the night's events, Felix flung the door opened; “Here you are dude!”

“Wh.. what am I doing here?” Logan sat upright.

"Oh man, you left the club with a lady?" Felix reminded him.

“Where is she?? A..Allyson.. that lady.. she's a …” His head pounded. He groaned and rubbed his forehead.

“Looks like you drank a lot?” Felix sensed something was wrong with him.

“No, she drugged me” Patting down his pockets, he noticed his phone was gone, along with his wallet. “And she robbed me”

“Where's my phone?” He looked around the bed.. “And my wallet?” He checked every pockets in his suits “My wallet is gone too. I've been robbed. That lady robbed me. She drugged me and she robbed me”

“What? I thought you guys got along so quickly and were just having fun”

“Hell no… Where's she? Who is she?” Logan flared.

“How was I supposed to know? I'm sorry man, I can't believe this” He tried to help him up.

“She looked pretty nice, and she was so cunny that I couldn't tell she was a petty thief” Logan ranked his fingers through his hair, his frustration mounting. “Did she rape me too?” He unzipped his trousers and zip it back up.

“Geez! We need to find her, Felix, she must not get away with this”

“I… uhm.. let's report to the club securities” Felix was confused as well.

“Good morning my dear, rise and shine” Allyson, sat by the hospital bed and waited till her sister, Mabel woke up from the long sleep.

After the successful surgery, Mabel was given a sleeping pill, so she could have enough rest.

“Good morning sis” Mabel muttered.

Allyson helped her sit, adjusting a pillow behind her.

“Do you feel comfortable? Are you okay? Do you want me to get you anything? What would you like to eat?” She held Mabel's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

“I.. I'm okay” Mabel replied with a weak smile.

“I brought your favourite meal” Allyson wanted to get up and get the food.

“Allyson, hold on” Mabel stopped her.

“What is it dear?” She asked, with concern.

“Wh..where did you get the money for the surgery?” Her sister asked.

“Oh dear nevermind about that. God provided okay?”

“Do you have a job now? Or.. did you borrow the money? How will you pay back that huge sum Allyson?” Mabel began to panick.

“Mabel, it's okay. You don't have to be worried about where I got the money. Just be happy that you are hale and healthy”

“But.. “

The doctor came in..

“It's so good to see you awake and talking, Mabel." said the doctor, smiling as he stepped into the room. “How do you feel dear? Let me know if you are feeling any form of pain, anywhere?”

“ I feel very much better doctor”

“Oh, that's great to know”

“Last time, she had us quite worried for a bit” Allyson added, empathetically.

“Your sister, Mabel is a fighter, she's strong and I'm excited to tell you that she’ll be discharged very soon” The doctor said.

“Thank you for everything Doctor” Mabel uttered softly.

“Miss Allyson, her treatment would have commenced sooner if only you had paid the bills earlier but now, her left leg is a bit swollen too.

Just make sure that she takes her drugs and dialysis weekly, so that she’ll get back on her feet very quickly”

“How much is this dialysis we’re talking about Doctor?” Allyson asked.

“10,000 dollars and you would get her a wheelchair too”

“If she takes her dialysis every week, this means that we’ll spend approximately $40,000 a month?”

“Apparently, yes. This dialysis is very important but as time goes on, she wouldn't need it anymore. If she doesn't take the dialysis, she might need a kidney transplant” The doctor explained briefly.

“Fvck! Where do I get the money from?” Allyson mumbled to herself.

“So I'll take my leave now. Don't hesitate to let me know if you feel any discomfort or pain Mabel”

“Yes doctor”

As the doctor departed, Allyson sank into the chair, her mind was racing. The weight of responsibility was bearing down on her, she knew she had to figure out a way to earn money.

Robbing again was out of the question - aside the fact that she felt remorseful for doing it, she didn't want to risk getting caught, not with Mabel depending on her now.

“I know you are worried about the weekly dialysis. We're in this together. If there's anything I can do, you know I'll do it. I'll find a job once I get discharged” Mabel noticed the change in her sister's mood.

“No Mabel, you know you cannot work while on a wheelchair”

“I can help.”

“Mabel, there's nothing you can do. You need to focus on getting better while I...I'll figure something out." Allyson sounded not too sure but the determination in her eyes was clear.

“You forced me to the club!” Logan blamed Felix.

“No, I didn't and neither did I force a woman on you. You should have been smarter enough” Felix fired back.

“Oh wow, now you blame me” Logan sighed, the frustration seeping into him.

“No, I'm not blaming you Logan. C’mon, you can be robbed at anywhere. It's sad the securities at the club insisted that items are at owners‘ risk”

“I’ve just lost a whopping sum of money. Well, as we speak, my phone is being tracked. I'll make sure that the thief will not go scot free”

“I know you’re pissed off Logan, but we need to be realistic here. She's already gotten away with it,” Felix said, his tone softening as he placed a hand on Logan's shoulder. “I suggest you forget about it and move on. It's just a little thief’s lucky day”

“Move on and forget about it” Logan mimicked with an ugly expression. “No way! I'll get her arrested”

“Alright, do as you wish” Felix tried to keep his cool. His phone suddenly chimed.

“It's your father” He checked the phone screen.

Logan sighed, picked up the phone from him.

“Hello, Dad”

~”Logan, when are you introducing your woman to us? Aren't you planning to settle down soon?” Was the first thing his father said.

“What are you talking about Dad?”

~“Felix already told us that you have a fiancée?”

“Fiancee??” Logan shot Felix a glare and he chucked. “Well Dad yes, that's maybe true but it's nothing serious yet. We are still taking things slow and gradual” He played along instead of getting on his father's nerves.

“Oh wow, what matters is that there's a woman in your life. You have been out of a relationship for the longest time as far as I can remember”

“That's enough Dad”

“I’ld like to meet her; I need you both to discussed about marriage instead of playing around”

“Marriage? Like I said, we are just starting to know eachother better. I don't think we want to rush into marriage already” Logan said.

He heard his father scoffed; “So you’ve got no plans for the future?”

Logan tried to change the topic; “Let's talk about business instead, you’ll be impressed once you check the current company’s monthly net worth, I've been working really hard these days…”

His Dad interrupted.

“If only you put that same effort into your relationship. By now, you should be thinking of giving me grandkids” His father retorted.

“Huh what..?

“Listen Logan, I give you a week to introduce your woman to me or I take back my company and hand it over to your cousin, Desmond to take over instead” His Dad said.

“Wait..what? Are you joking dad?” His voice shaking.

“It's no joke Logan. We both know Desmond has always wanted to be the CEO”

“Dad, please, this is ridiculous! You're talking about taking away everything I've worked for! You can't do that over something as trivial as a relationship!"

His father's voice was stern. "You're right, it is trivial. It's trivial to you, Logan, but no

t to me. I've been patient with you, son, but it's time to grow up”

His father said and disconnected the call abruptly.
