They arrived at the farming factory nearly lunchtime, one of the giant enterprises that Edward Phillipe managed. Edward came out from the car and he continued his steps to the factory’s canteen.
“Lorraine and Hudson, it’s nearly lunchtime. You can back to the office, I and Bernard will stay overnight at this place. But before you leave, you can enjoy lunchtime and have a good meal in the factory’s canteen. Will you?” Edward stopped his steps and turned his back around to Lorraine, a woman who always accommodated his personal needs in daily activities as the owner of two giant businesses. The mid-forties in age woman had been working for Edward since he started his enterprise from zero, fifteen years before he got his grandparent’s inheritance of giant enterprises. Meanwhile, Hudson had worked for him as a personal driver for almost ten years. “How about tonight, Mr. Edward?” Lorraine looked at Edward. “I’m free tonight. I don’t have to come to any ceremonies or dinner invitations. Or any meetings.” Edward smirked, breathed in, and put one of his hands into his jeans pocket. “But let’s have lunch time. After that, you can discuss with Hudson, whether both of you will return to the office or stay overnight at the guest house. I am going to stay overnight in my grandparent’s house just a few steps from the guest house.” Edward continued to walk to the factory’s canteen. “It looks so fresh as usual, Jack!” Edward chopped a salad with the fork and chewed it, Jack, the man Edward employed as a chief canteen man smiled widely and Jack served the four of them with a salad dish for each of them as appetizers. There were also some potato cakes with chicken stuffed. The four of them including Jack were in the canteen and the place began to look crowded as the employees of the factory came into the place to have their lunchtime. They were taking a seat at a table for a group of people near the back door of the canteen where their eyes while they ate their lunch could enjoy the green grasslands for the living stock herds staying there to enjoy their open natural sources of food. “You like the dressing, Mr. Edward?” He asked with his sparkling eyes as he saw Edward enjoying the fresh salad that he served. “Perfect!” Edward put his two pinched fingers on his lips and made a smooch sound. He looked at Lorraine and Hudson. “What do you say about the veggies and the fruits in the salad?” Lorraine smiled widely as she finished chewing her salad. “It’s so fresh.” Edward grinned and hung to hold the fork with his folded elbow vertically resting on the table. His eyes looked at Jack, a veteran man the same age as him, just a bit older few years than him. “Jack, tell them the story of how you grow these veggies and fruit in our farming land.” Jack chuckled. “Don’t worry all of the veggies and fruits we are growing here, they are organic.” Hudson, the driver man, furrowed his eyebrows. “You mean that you don’t use any chemical substances like pesticides on these veggies and fruits?” He pointed to his salad with a fork in his hand. Jack wobbled his head. “Nope. But the wee-wee time for the cows it’s very important for us. We use it as an organic pesticide.” “You mean a cow’s urine?” Lorraine lifted her eyebrows. “Yep. Ammoniac smell but it’s safe for consuming.” Jack giggled. He rose from the seat and looked at them all. “Perhaps if you stay at the guest house, we’re going to sneak into your room and see your wee-wee time just to collect your urine for using it as an organic pesticide.” Jack chuckled. He winked one of his eyes. “Gotcha! Just kidding.” He swayed his hand in the air. He giggled as he turned back to his place, behind the food stand to serve meals for the employees who were standing in the line. Edward and Bernard beamed while Lorraine was gasping. Lorraine exhaled in a relieved way after she found out Jack only made a joke. “Mr. Edward, so what is your consideration to one of the board director members to initiate the investment in the Healthies90s products of James Stones for three million dollars?” Ellen, his finance department chief asked him as three of them were riding a buggy car. Edward was sitting next to Bernard who driving the buggy car. “Halt it, Ellen. I’ll find out more about the packaging. I sniff something about it. It is not healthy and I don’t want to get a partnership with a company that makes public lies about its products. That is my rule number one.” He glanced at Ellen. “I have a bag of sampling that I need the research department to analyze them. We head to the Research Department, Bernard!” He moved his hand to command Bernard about the direction. Bernard nodded. Edward inhaled. “How much can we gain as your prediction by the end of this month, Ellen?” He took a glimpse of Ellen. The woman was in her thirties and her good shape; she had a tousled elegant blonde coloured shaggy hair. “The worst, we positively could gain 10 million dollars by the end of the month.” She inhaled and rested her both hands on her lap. “With this unstable economic condition, Mr. Edward.” Edward beamed. “It’s a good step, Ellen. I am always grateful for having you as one of our solid members!” He winked one of his eyes and Ellen beamed at him as her retort. “Thank you, Mr. Edward. I am glad to become your team member!” Edward nodded his head. "We head to Ruth and her team building and give them the samples to be analyzed." Edward entered the front yard garden at his grandparent’s house. He stopped his steps as his eyes captured a figure of a sturdy, muscular tall man with his brunette hair sitting on the porch. Curtis Falcon, Edward’s stepbrother, was enjoying his coffee and a white cigarette at the time Edward approached. “Just visiting?” Edward tried to speak with him. Curtis beamed and sipped his coffee. “As you see with your own eyes, Edward.” Edward inhaled. “Have seen Grandpa?” Curtis shrugged. “He’s taking some time to rest.” He took a snap look at his watch. “You don’t go back to the office?” Edward put his hands into his jeans pocket. “No. I am staying at this place tonight. Grandpa needs me to accompany him to the clinic of Doctor Hanson for his treatment this evening.” He inhaled deeply. Curtis sneered at him, “Did Grandpa ask you or did you just play too sneaky to get his attention?” “What you mean, Curtis?” Edward furrowed his eyebrows. Curtis smirked. “Never mind, Brother…”. He sniffed harshly as he saw Edward had entered the house. “You know what I mean, Edward…After all the wealth that you bequeathed from Grandpa!” He murmured intentionally to make his voice sound lower to avoid Edward eavesdropping what he said."Tell me, how long have you been working for the Healthies90?" Bernard beamed at Clara after pouring the second glass of wine for the young woman. Clara bit her lower lip and peeked at Bernard. Bernard inhaled and sipped his wine as he ran his thought. 'Mr. Edward was right that this girl has thoughtful mind. I could see from her stare. I must anticipate her tricky minds with combination of her attractive attitudes.' "Five years." Clara sipped her wine. Her red lipstick remained on the tip of the glass as she silently rubbed it off with her thumb. The way she licked the remains of the wine on her lips looked so elegant but at the same point, what she did could emanate his imagination how naughty and wild she would be. Bernard rested his chin on his clenching fist and beamed at her. "Not surprisingly as I could figure out from your sparkling eyes talk anything about you..." He shook the glass in his hand and stirred the wine slowly. "James certainly figure out how potential you are
"Are you with her right now?" Edward Phillipe rose from his seat and walked to the porch. He glanced at his grandpa, Louis Phillipe who was on the wheelchair and accompanied by a personal nurse that Edward hired to take care his grandpa 24/7 while he was busy to manage his business. He kept his space in a few edges from them while he was on phone with Bernard. "Yes, Mr. Edward. I drove her to stay in the motel. She fell asleep before telling me where she's living." Edward bit his lips. "You sprayed her with the magic liquid that Ruth invented?" He dilated his pupils as he felt surprised and curious at the same time. He giggled as he covered his mouth with a hand. "My Gosh, make sure whether she fainted because of its smell or fell asleep, Bernard!" "I will, Mr. Edward. It seems that she fainted..." Bernard inhaled. He rested the face of Clara to the other side. He leaned her head on the opposite side from his driving position carefully as he intended not to awake her unintentional
"May I know the reason behind your decision to sell your car?" Johny looked at Elena with his eyes full of concern. Elena stopped munching her dinner meal and sipped her chocolate shake to clear her throat. "I need to pay for my tuition fees and my mom's expenses, Boss!" Johny inhaled. "Just call me by my name." He stirred his cappuccino and the way he moved the spoon, Elena knew that man was thinking."When will you start doing the assignment so?" Elena gulped. "As soon as I finish gathering any information about Fred Tiger." She wiped her lips with a serviette. "He seems enjoying some outdoor activities like rowing, rock climbing and hiking. I consider to choose that way as approach methods to him." Johny sighed and sipped his coffee. "I'll send you Angelo to join with you." Elena stared at him while she munched her last bite of a beef burger. "I'll send you sixty percent of your salary for this assignment. I hope you can find another car to make your day easier. Angelo will t
"I can't swim..." Elena confessed and turned down her eyes to her lap. She bit her lower lip. Angelo squeezed his eyes. He seemed not believe his ears with what the girl just said. 'She looks tough but can't swim?' Angelo was laughing inside as he skimmed of her for a moment. "Okay." He beamed after clearing his throat. There was a shadow of pause in a short moment. "I heard this guy loves to do some outdoor activities. So, are you going to follow one of his outdoor activities?" Elena sighed. "He's going to go rowing this weekend." Angelo jiggled his head. "Tell me what you have learned about this guy, Fred Tiger--" He took a short look at Elena who seemed to be uneasy. "Hey, relax. We are going to be a team. We should support each other." Angelo tapped his fingers on the steer, his other hand reached for the car audio and he switched the music into some blues as Elena assumed. "You like it?" Elena shrugged. "I am not into music so much, but some jazz I probably listen before
“Elena kept moving. Don’t get panicked and grab something. Pull over, Elena!” She heard Angelo’s voice to give some directions. The life jacket she wearing made her floating her up from the current. Elena found her sight getting distorted. The water streams hit her face hard as she tried to emerge her head up on the surface. “There’s something entangled my left ankle!” She turned her head to Angelo and kept trying to pull her head up from the surface to get oxygen. She began blurping. Suddenly, Elena felt something was bumping her head. Hitting her hard although a helmet protected her, that bump dragged her within the water streams. She saw a big trunk passing her and she tried to grab it. The water streamed harder, bent over between the rocky river and the streams drifted her within. Elena was pushed into currents and dragged her to hit a boulder. Leaving everything looked black in her vision and she felt numb as she fainted. Angelo dived into the water and approached
Elena followed the direction that Angelo told her. It was nine o’ clock compass direction and it pointed at another young woman. “Who’s she?” Elena pulled the bridge of her glasses down from her nose. Angelo sighed. “Iréne’s right hand!” Elena bowed her eyebrows. “What’s she doing?” She hissed at Angelo. Angelo bit his finger to cover his mouth while he was speaking. “To arrange the meetings between Iréne Belle and Fred Tiger. They should avoid public’s attention on their…you know!” He sniffed. “I smell another agenda!” He obscurely looked at the blonde girl passing them with the man from the café through his side eye. Angelo asked for the waitress their bills and gave a normal amount for tips. “What’re we doing next?” Elena almost wiped off her artificial moustache but Angelo asked her not to do it. She shrugged and looked at Angelo who keeping an eye on the street. “Waiting. I want to know what’s business they are dealing with that blonde chic. You know her, don’t y
Elena sighed but her ears could catch a gasp coming out from Angelo’s lips as he pressed the button to open the door of his red sport car for her. He took a glimpse of her who checking her long white earrings where she inserted the tiny speakers into. “Selena…” he paused and called Elena with her operation name. “I’ll be around you but promise you, you won’t notice me…it’ll be easier for you to work!” He wiped his nose while his other hand was still on the steer. Elena gave him a quick nod and grabbed a silver colored leathered with some metal ornamented purse. “If everything bad happens... everything… just bump your chest area three times where Val attached the mics…” Angelo added his final instruction as Elena was ready to get off from the car. “Good luck…” he put two fingers on his forehead and swayed it as a sign of readiness for working. Elena drew a long inhale and walked into the room where the music from DJ had welcomed her. She tried to walk with a natural swaying an
Duncan heavily glanced at Elena who was walking next to him. “Are you waiting for some friends in this party?” Elena turned her head down, just a few seconds then she landed her eyes on Duncan’s face. “I am representative of a company...you know…” she paused and shrugged. “This resort is a prospective place…my company provide such kind of service, how about you?” The man curled his nose as he looked quite excited. “Good!” only that such kind of words he gave as a retort. They had returned to the room and the music had changed the rhythm. They came to the room with table serving some pastry and snacks. “So, are you waiting for some colleagues?” Elena asked him before biting a chunk of tuna cocktail sandwich with some tropical fruits. Duncan smirked and stopped eating his pastry on the plate he brought. Elena directed her eyes to the corner where Duncan was gazing at. She nearly ran out of air as her eyes caught who those people were. ‘Martinez and the young man who calle
