All I basically did was cast cursory looks through the files and reports she brought to me and offered her some pieces of advice. Clients pulling out was nothing new to me, and I knew how to manage that nicely. But the resources here were dwindling rapidly, and I could sense a loophole somewhere.

It seemed like someone was using the absence of a true leader for his benefit. I told her as much, but when she asked how to manage that, I laughed.

"That's for you to figure out," I informed. "Point your fingers and investigate; I'm sure you'll come up with something interesting."

"I hadn't noticed," she told me, and I rolled my eyes. It was plain to anyone with two eyes.

To me, all I told her was just basic stuff that anyone business-oriented should know about their situation, but the way she thanked me for it made it sound much more important. Well, I guess it was to her since it was coming from me.
