SELENA

Stephen didn’t say a word.

One second, I was dancing under the golden glow of fairy lights at the academy party, and the next, his hand wrapped around my wrist like a vice. He yanked me off the dance floor without so much as a glance back. His grip was unforgiving. My heels struggled to keep up, scraping against the marble tiles as I stumbled after him.

The silence in the car was suffocating. His knuckles turned white around the steering wheel as he drove like a storm was chasing us. The wind whipped past the windows, loud and angry. I sat frozen in the passenger seat, staring at him from the corner of my eye.

I’d never seen him like this.

Not this… wild.

Not this silent.

Not this terrifying.

He didn’t even park properly. The moment the tires screeched to a stop in front of the mansion, he was out and around to my side. The door flew open, and before I could react, he grabbed me lifting me like I weighed nothing.

"Stephen let go of me!" I screamed, thrashing in his arms.

He did

SELENAIt’s been a month.A whole month since the night Stephen tried to mark me. Since the night everything changed. Since then, he hasn’t looked at me hasn’t even crossed my path. It’s like he vanished into thin air. You’d think I’d be happy. Peace and quiet, no chaos, no tension thick enough to suffocate me. And yet...I stood in front of the classroom door, my hand hovering over the handle, my reflection faintly visible in the glass pane. My lips pressed into a line."Come on, Selena. Get it together," I whispered, shaking off the weight that had settled on my chest. But it lingered. My fingers brushed the spot on my neck where his teeth had almost sunk in. The memory still burned. My body had responded to him that night God, how it responded but my soul screamed no.How could I want him? He’s my stepbrother. He wanted to claim me. Touch me. Own me.And I... fantasized about it. About him.Disgusted with myself, I slapped my cheek lightly, trying to knock the thought out of my hea

SELENAThe room crackled with tension. Adam stood firm, his eyes locked on Stephen, their gazes clashing like two storms threatening to collide. For the first time, I saw it the uncanny resemblance between them. The same sharp jawline, the same cold fire burning behind their eyes. Cousins, yes… but their blood ran hotter than any rivalry I’d ever seen. Then everything happened so fast.Stephen’s fingers curled around my wrist and yanked me away from Adam. His grip was iron-tight, his touch suffocating. I gasped and clung to Adam instinctively, but Stephen wasn’t having it. He pulled me hard against him, his arm locking around my waist like a steel trap. With his other hand, he reached out faster than I could blink and grabbed Adam by the throat.Adam struggled, gasping for breath, but Stephen held him effortlessly. His voice thundered through the air, low and commanding.“When I tell you to leave, you leave. You don’t get to defy me.”“Please!” I cried, wriggling against Stephen’s gri

SELENASilence had never felt so heavy.I sat on the cold marble floor, tracing invisible patterns with my tiny fingers. My doll, the one with the missing eye and frayed dress, lay forgotten beside me. Something was wrong. The front door creaked open. My head snapped up just as a man stepped inside. He was a familiar face one of my father’s visitors, always with a friendly smile. But today, there was no smile. No warmth. Just the heavy thud of his boots as he walked toward me.A strange chill curled down my spine.“Where’s my father?” My voice was small, nearly lost in the thick silence stretching between us.The man crouched in front of me. His fingers brushed against my hair, gentle yet unsettling.“Selena…” His voice wavered, thick with something I couldn’t name.I swallowed hard. “Where is he?”A deep sigh escaped him before he finally met my gaze. “Your father is watching over you from above.”The room tilted.No.I had heard those words before. She’s watching over us from above,

SELENA“Watch your tone, boy!” Alpha Kingsley’s voice lashed through the air, sharp as a whip. “You will respect my late friend’s daughter. She is your sister now, and you will treat her as such.”Stephen stood rigid, his fists clenched, eyes burning into mine with raw hostility. The air between us crackled, thick with something unspoken, something dark.“I will never accept her as my sister.” His voice was low, dangerous. Then it erupted. “Her father killed my mother!”The words slammed into me like a physical blow. My breath hitched. No—that couldn't be true. My father, the man who taught me how to braid flowers into my hair, who carried me on his shoulders when my legs were too tired to walk—a murderer?A chill crept through me, curling around my spine. I took a step back, instinctively seeking shelter behind Alpha Kingsley. Stephen’s fury was suffocating, wrapping around me like an iron grip. This wasn’t home. I was an intruder.“Enough, Stephen!” Kingsley’s voice rang with unyiel

A woman with dark hair pulled into a neat bun, warm brown eyes filled with amusement.“Good morning, ma’am,” I mumble, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. She chuckles. “It’s Elizabeth.”Oh. Right. I should’ve asked earlier. Embarrassment burns through me as I press my lips together.“What time is it?” I ask, stretching my stiff limbs.“Late enough for the Alpha to wonder if you’re part vampire,” she jokes. “It’s already noon.”Noon? My stomach drops. I bolt upright. “Why didn’t you wake me sooner?”Elizabeth folds her arms. “Because the Alpha ordered us to let you rest. But now that you’re

STEPHENThe music thumped softly through the lounge, golden lights casting a warm glow over the low-hanging chandeliers. I sat with Rowan and Julia, a glass of bourbon in my hand, pretending to care about whatever Rowan was rambling about. My eyes, however, had already found their target.Selena.She sat at the far end of the room, hunched slightly over her plate, scarfing down her food like she hadn’t eaten in days. Her brows furrowed with every bite, and her lips glistened with the juice from the roasted meat. She looked innocent. Too innocent. Almost like she’d finally found a moment where she thought she was free from me.Foolish girl.I smirked without meaning to.Rowan followed my gaze and chuckled knowingly. “You’re not even trying to hide it anymore,” he said. He’d known me since childhood, long before titles or packs or bloodlines became the fabric of our lives. He knew every shade of me even the dark ones.“What if I married your sister?” he asked suddenly, jolting me from m

SelenaThe silver gown shimmered under the soft light of my vanity mirror, hugging my figure like it had been sewn onto my skin. I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding as I turned from side to side, smoothing the fabric over my hips. Stephen had picked it. Of course, he had. Even now, his voice echoed in my head—stern, commanding, laced with something darker.“Don’t wear any underwear with it.”Yeah, right.I slid on a pair of seamless panties, defiant in my quiet rebellion. He didn’t need to know. What was he going to do—check?Matching the dress with the sleek black heels he left by my door, I took one last glance at myself in the mirror. My hair spilled over my shoulders in loose waves, unstyled but still framing my face with a softness that surprised me. I looked… beautiful. And different. Like someone stepping into a role she wasn’t sure she could play.Clutching a small silver purse, I stepped out of my room and started down the grand staircase. Halfway down, I froze.

The scent is different too crisp, clean, expensive… and unfamiliar. My lashes flutter open, and I blink against the glare. This isn’t my bed. This isn’t even my room. The walls are darker, masculine. A massive bookshelf sits near the corner, and on the far wall there it is a framed portrait of Stephen, staring down at me with the same cold, calculating eyes he wore last night. My stomach twists. What the hell am I doing here?I sit up too quickly. My head throbs as if a thousand hammers are dancing behind my eyes. A wave of nausea hits, and I pause, breathing through it. I look down and gasp.I’m wearing his shirt. Just his shirt.Memories from last night flicker in my head like broken film reels Stephen grabbing my wrist at the club, his voice low and possessive, “You belong to me, Selena. I will break y
