SELENA

It’s been a month.

A whole month since the night Stephen tried to mark me. Since the night everything changed. Since then, he hasn’t looked at me hasn’t even crossed my path. It’s like he vanished into thin air.

You’d think I’d be happy. Peace and quiet, no chaos, no tension thick enough to suffocate me. And yet...

I stood in front of the classroom door, my hand hovering over the handle, my reflection faintly visible in the glass pane. My lips pressed into a line.

"Come on, Selena. Get it together," I whispered, shaking off the weight that had settled on my chest.

But it lingered.

My fingers brushed the spot on my neck where his teeth had almost sunk in. The memory still burned. My body had responded to him that night God, how it responded but my soul screamed no.

How could I want him?

He’s my stepbrother.

He wanted to claim me. Touch me. Own me.

And I... fantasized about it. About him.

Disgusted with myself, I slapped my cheek lightly, trying to knock the thought out of my hea

Their smug grins said they thought this would be easy. Quick. That I’d curl in on myself and beg.Wrong girl.My fists clenched at my sides, and I planted my feet firmly on the ground. This ends now. They charged. And then—A gust of power swept through the room like a storm crashing through silence. Before I could react, it shoved me backward gentle, as if the force knew I wasn’t the threat and slammed the other three straight into the walls with brutal, unforgiving strength. Groans followed. Pain laced in them.I blinked, heart thudding, and turned to the source.Adam.His chest heaved, golden eyes burning like twin suns. He wasn’t shifting he already had. Not fu

SELENAThe room crackled with tension. Adam stood firm, his eyes locked on Stephen, their gazes clashing like two storms threatening to collide. For the first time, I saw it the uncanny resemblance between them. The same sharp jawline, the same cold fire burning behind their eyes. Cousins, yes… but their blood ran hotter than any rivalry I’d ever seen. Then everything happened so fast.Stephen’s fingers curled around my wrist and yanked me away from Adam. His grip was iron-tight, his touch suffocating. I gasped and clung to Adam instinctively, but Stephen wasn’t having it. He pulled me hard against him, his arm locking around my waist like a steel trap. With his other hand, he reached out faster than I could blink and grabbed Adam by the throat.Adam struggled, gasping for breath, but Stephen held him effortlessly. His voice thundered through the air, low and commanding.“When I tell you to leave, you leave. You don’t get to defy me.”“Please!” I cried, wriggling against Stephen’s gri

ADAMI watched in stunned disbelief as Stephen marked my Selena. My blood boiled, and an almost feral rage took over. I had always known Stephen was insane hell, the whole family was but this was different. This wasn’t just about power. It was something darker, something twisted. Why would he do this to her? She wasn’t his mate. She was mine. The bond between us was undeniable, but Stephen? What the hell was between them? The thought of him touching her like that, claiming her, sent a surge of heat coursing through my veins, and I couldn’t hold it in anymore.I shifted into my full wolf form, my muscles rippling as the rage consumed me. My body stretched, fur erupting along my skin as I snarled. My claws dug into the ground, the earth shaking with the force of my anger. I was going to rip him apart. I didn’t care about the consequences. I was ready to start a war between packs if it meant putting an end to this.I lunged toward Stephen with the intent to tear him limb from limb. But b

STEPHENI shouldn’t have marked her.The thought hits me like a punch every time I catch a glimpse of Selena. It replays in my head like a broken record, especially when she smiles at Adam. When her hand brushed his arm today just lightly, casually I saw red.I marked her out of anger, not instinct. Out of possession, not love. And that single choice has tangled my thoughts for months.I tried to keep my distance. God knows I did. But the more I pulled away, the more my eyes found her in a room. The more my thoughts wandered to her voice, the scent of her hair, the damn way her lips curled when she was about to argue. And now, the jealousy? It’s eating me alive. She’s not mine. She’s not even my mate. But when I see her with Adam, laughing like there’s no weight on her shoulders, I want to break something. Him, preferably.“Hey,” a voice cuts through the noise of the clubhouse.I blink, snapping back to reality. Music pulses in the background. The chatter of other pack members blurs i

SelenaI tugged at the edge of my sweater, making sure it covered the mark just beneath my collarbone the one Stephen gave me.It burned sometimes. Not physically. Emotionally. A reminder etched into my skin that no amount of fabric could erase.Other girls would flaunt a mark like this. They’d walk around with heads held high, proud to be claimed. But me? I felt like a walking secret. A shameful one.Because Stephen isn’t just the Alpha’s son. He’s my stepbrother. What would Alpha Kingsley think if he ever saw it? He’s been more of a father to me than my own blood ever was. The way he smiles at me, proud and warm—would all of that vanish if he knew his own son had marked me? Would I become a disappointment, a betrayal he never saw coming?Sometimes, I catch myself wishing I could rewind everything. Maybe then, I would’ve stayed with Alpha Kingsley. Maybe then, none of this would’ve happened.I didn’t even hear Adam approach until his fingers brushed my arm.“Hey,” he said, voice low

I hadn't blocked her not yet but every time I saw her name, my stomach turned. She might still carry the label of “girlfriend,” but it meant nothing now. The connection was long dead. Honestly, just hearing from her made my skin crawl.I picked up with a cold, flat voice.“What?”“You need to come to the main hall,” she said. Her tone was too calm. Too casual.A spark of irritation lit inside me. “Why would I do that? You know no one’s allowed in that hall. I made it clear.”That space no, that shrine was off-limits. It held the last traces of my mother, the very room where Luca slaughtered her with his bare hands. I'd preserved it exactly as it was... untouched. Sacred. And Julia, of all people, knew that. Her next words made my blood run cold.“Selena broke the urn. Your mother’s ashes... they’re all over the

A dull ache pulsed in the back of my skull. My wrists stung raw and bruised where iron chains dug into them. Chains? Panic rose like bile in my throat. I tried to move, but the cold bite of metal clanged against the concrete floor, and a sharp pain tore through my ankle. I let out a strangled gasp, wincing. My breathing grew rapid, ragged, shallow. Where… where am I? Memories surged and collided Stephen’s furious eyes, the tightening grip of his arms as he lifted me, the way my limbs had gone limp right before darkness swallowed me whole. Had I passed out? I looked around or tried to. Shadows swallowed every corner of the room. There was no window, just a small slit of moonlight bleeding in through a crack in the ceiling, barely enough to outline the trembling shape of my body. My skin prickled. Then came the

My lips curled into a soft smile as Stephen stepped in.That look in his eyes cold, distant, unreadable. And yet, it was the very thing I found intoxicating about him. There was something in that icy stare that made me ache to be near him, to melt that frozen expression and make it burn.He shut the door behind him, slow and deliberate, then took a seat opposite me without a word.“Why did you call me today?” he asked, his voice a little rough, like he hadn’t spoken in hours.I stood slowly, hips swaying with intent, and moved toward him. “Because I missed you,” I whispered, letting my fingers graze the open collar of his shirt, brushing the warmth of his chest as I began unfastening the buttons one by one.He didn’t answer.“Don’t you miss me too?” I asked, tilting my head, lips just inches from his.But instead of pulling me closer,

I was just about to pull out a bolt of silk when my phone buzzed sharply against the wooden table.I froze.A shiver rippled down my spine, cold and unwelcome.I didn’t have to look to know who it was.My heart slammed against my ribs as I slowly turned my head. There it was a message. From him.My fingers trembled as they hovered over the screen. Why couldn’t he just leave me alone? Why couldn’t he understand that I wasn't my father? That I wasn’t the one who destroyed his mother's life?Tears pricked the corners of my eyes, blurring my vision. I blinked them back fiercely. Not today. Not when I had worked so hard to build something new.Yet a small, traitorous part of me still wanted to know what he had said. My hand inched toward the phone. Before I could reach it, Angela snatched it up an

ADAMThe moment we arrived at the palace, I didn’t waste a second. I escorted Selena straight to her quarters, my hand gently guiding her trembling form. Tonight, I wasn’t leaving her alone not even for a moment. At the threshold of her room, I hesitated, watching her. She looked so small, so fragile. Her hands shook uncontrollably, and silent tears streamed down her cheeks. Ever since Selena arrived at my pack, she had been nothing but light and laughter always smiling, always trying. But tonight... just one message had shattered all of that.I sat down beside her bed, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face. She flinched at the touch, then slowly relaxed when she realized it was me."Everything’s going to be okay, Selena," I whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "I promise you I won’t let anything happen to you."She gave a small, almost imperceptible nod. I wasn’t sure if she believed me, but it didn’t matter. I had already made up my mind. SELENAThe phone buzzed again, a short, sharp vibration against the floor.I couldn’t bring myself to pick it up. I sat frozen, my hands stiff in my lap, the air around me thinning until it felt like I was breathing through a straw. If it’s him…If it’s really Stephen...He’ll come for me.He always does.I didn’t even hear Angela at first not until her warm hand closed gently around my wrist."Selena," she said softly, her brows drawn together in concern. "I think we should take a break."Her voice was kind, steady, like an anchor in the middle of the storm raging inside me. I let her guide me to a chair nearby, the sewing tools forgotten on the table. She crouched down in front of me, squeezing my hands."Are you okay?"I nodded. A quick, jerky lie. "Yeah. I'm fine."But I wasn’t.Every instinct screamed otherwise. If it was Stephen and God, it felt like him then no place was safe. Not even here.Angela glanced toward my phone lying face down on the floor. Cautiously, she picked

SELENASince I stepped foot into Luxe Loom Academy, life had felt like a dream stitched together in silk. I wasn’t just another student I was treated like royalty.People whispered "princess" as I walked by, not in mockery, but admiration. I didn't ask for the attention. I didn’t crave the spotlight. But it found me anyway, like a light searching for its reflection.Everyone adored me except Mira. Her glares were knives across the room, sharp and unrelenting. I’d catch her eyes every now and then, filled with something too complex to be plain jealousy. Maybe I’d taken something from her a title, a sense of belonging, a place she'd always thought was hers.Angela, our head designer and mentor, had taken a strong liking to me. She’d praised my work in front of everyone more than once, had even asked me to become her personal student. I could feel Mira’s resentment growing with each compliment that wasn't hers. But I never meant to outshine anyone.I just poured my soul into the fabric.

SELENABefore I can respond, the click of heels slices through the air like warning shots. A woman strides toward us, her presence sharp as the cheekbones on her flawless face. Crimson lips, narrowed eyes, an air of entitlement that kind of beauty that makes the room stop but not in a good way.Her gaze skims past me like I’m dust on her designer shoes.“Who is she?” she asks Adam, voice laced with venom. Not a glance in my direction. Not a flicker of curiosity toward me just hostility wrapped in silk.Angela steps forward, but the atmosphere has already shifted. The temperature drops. The air feels tight around my chest. I can feel it the judgment, the unspoken comparison, the way I don’t belong in their world. Not beside Adam. Not in their circles. But Adam ignores her completely. His face hardens, eyes fixed on Angela like the woman doesn’t exist.“So, when can she start coming?” he asks. There’s steel in his voice now, tension beneath every syllable. His jaw tightens slightly, and

But behind every polite smile, there’s a tension that thrums like a taut wire ready to snap.Alpha Talon welcomed me into the pack with grace, announcing me as his brother’s daughter. No one questioned it. They wouldn’t dare. His word is law. But even the weight of his name couldn’t erase the way Damon, Lucian, and Rhett look at me when they think I’m not watching. They’re Adam’s older brothers tall, sharp-jawed, and every inch soaked in dominance. They haven't spoken to me. They haven’t had to. Their silence says enough.Danger lingers here, thick like smoke in my lungs. The same darkness I once saw in Stephen flickers in their eyes. That same ruthless energy. They carry it like a birthright. SELENAThe night air was thick with tension, the kind that clings to your skin like mist. The full moon hung heavy above us, casting silver light across the courtyard like a spotlight meant for farewells.Alpha Kingsley stood still, his broad shoulders outlined by moonlight, eyes fixed on the sky like it held the answers he’d been searching for his whole life."Will you still go tonight?" he asked quietly, not looking at me.His voice was low but steady, almost as if he already knew the answer and just needed to hear me say it out loud.I nodded, heart tight in my chest. “Yes.”He pulled me into a firm hug one that felt more like a goodbye than a see-you-later. “When things get hard, remember this—” He slipped the chain from his neck and placed the cool metal into my palm, his fingers lingering over mine. “You’re always welcome home. And this… will call me, if you’re ever in danger.”I clutched it, unable to find the words, so I just nodded again. My throat was too tight to speak. We

I had just changed into my princess attire, hoping for a moment of peace, when I heard Adam’s voice rise from the Alpha’s office.“I want to take Selena out of this pack,” he said, his voice low but firm. “She’s suffered enough at the hands of my brother.”My breath caught. I froze, then quickly ducked behind one of the stone pillars lining the hall. My heartbeat thundered in my ears as I pressed my back against the cool marble. I didn’t mean to eavesdrop but how could I walk away now? From my hidden spot, I could see Alpha Kingsley sitting behind his desk, his face carved in stone. His jaw tightened, and something flickered in his eyes. Pain? Resistance? Maybe both.“She can’t leave,” he said after a pause, his voice heavy with emotion. “She’s my daughter.”“No,” Adam said, quieter now, but unflinching. “She’s not. She’s Beta Luca’s dau
