Arlo

“Good job, my spy,” he said, looking behind me. I froze as I felt a presence behind my back. I bit my lips as I heard the familiar sound of his footsteps nearing where we were. Fuck. I could have never expected this.

I turned around and saw him smugly walking over to where we were. He had his hands in his pocket, and no signs of remorse were shown on his face. My eyes narrowed as he stopped in front of us.

“Anderson,” I muttered under my breath.

He nonchalantly waved at me and smiled. “How’s it going, Alpha Arlo?”

All of us stood frozen, shocked by his unexpected betrayal. He went next to Norman and crossed his arms in front of his chest. He looked at our shocked faces and smirked. “You never expected for this to happen, huh?”

“How could you do this?” I asked, disappointment evident in my voice.

He scoffed. “Don’t be so surprised, Arlo. You had this coming.”

Devyn growled at my side. Since uncle Dalton, who was the

Dalton“Let me go! Hera! I need Hera!” Arlo lashed out while I held him back. His eyes are bloodshot, and it seems like he has lost his sanity. He was slowly escaping from my grip, so I called for the others to help me.“Fuck. A little bit of help,” I squeezed out as I tried holding him back with all of my strength. River and Ella quickly went to my side and restrained Arlo’s arms.“Arlo! Calm the fuck down!” I shouted at him, hoping that he would stop with all of this ruckus.I really thought that we would be facing our end just a couple of moments ago. When we were surrounded by about five hundred soldiers, I had already accepted our fate, but Hera came in to save us at the last moment. If it weren’t for her,

Hera“Welcome to paradise,” Norman said, guiding me towards his territory. I looked at the beat-up tents laid out on the ground and saw some very malnourished children playing among themselves in the dry gravel. They looked at me with curiosity as I walked down the path with Norman. I smiled at them, but their mothers quickly hid them away when they saw us approaching. I frowned as I looked at their fearful eyes.We went past them and arrived at a luxurious house. Compared to the other houses within the vicinity, this house stood out too much. Norman opened the door to the luxurious house and invited me to come in. What welcomed us was a number of young teenagers cleaning up the house.“Cook something up for my precious daughter. Bring it up to my

DaltonI looked up from my laptop then glanced at Kairo, who was in the same state as me. We didn’t get any sleep at all since we were so busy coming up with a new strategy. I laughed when I saw him dozing off in his seat. He glared at me when he heard me chuckling.“You look fucking awful,” I said.He sat up straight and raised one of his eyebrows up. “Do you think you’re any better? If I look awful, then you look straight out of a trash can.”“Hey!” I said in an offended voice. “I got way more girls than you during high school!”“It’s because you love attention. More people liked me back then, you loser. I just turned them down all,” he said with a smirk.I scoffed. “Really? Then do you remember that girl during our freshmen year? You said that you liked her, but she turned you down because she liked me better.”He rolled his eyes. &ldquo

Hera“I lo—,”Shit. I heard someone turning the doorknob, so I quickly put down the phone and sat back down on the couch. I pretended to read a book while leaning down on the couch. I tried calming down my breath to look as natural as possible. The door opened, and Norman came in. I greeted him with a wide smile, to which he responded with a raise of eyebrows. My heart started beating louder. He didn’t hear the phone call I made just now, right?I cleared my throat the moment he went in. “How’s it going, dad? Did you fix whatever it is that needs fixing?” I awkwardly asked. He paused for a while but eventually nodded his head. “Yeah...,” he trailed off. He fully closed the door and faced me. “I heard that there were some people who tried to escape from our pack, so I had to deal with them. I’m not very keen on betrayers. I mean, I gave them everything they needed for the past years,

HeraI scoffed as Anderson brought me my supper. “You really betrayed us to become Norman’s lackey? You gave up your respectable Beta position just to do this?” I asked, gesturing towards the plate of food in front of me.“Shut up, bitch. I’ll kill you if you don’t shut your mouth.”I laughed. “Stop bluffing. I know that you ain’t calling the shots here. At least in the Blood Shadow pack, you had your own autonomy. Now, you’re just moving according to Norman’s orders. Aren’t you ashamed?”He threw his head back and laughed like a maniac. “You don’t understand. I don’t want to be in the Blood Shadow pack. There are too many people stronger than me back there. At least here, I know that I have the upper hand. Of course, you can say those things. You just had to be mated to Arlo, didn't you? You’re so fucking lucky that you don’t even have to strive ha

Hera“Miss Hera! I think they’re here!” Nicolette said, barging into my room. I woke up and rubbed my eyes awake.“What time is it?” I croaked out.“It’s 3:30 AM in the morning!” She chirpily said.My eyes widened in surprise. Why the hell did Arlo decide to attack this early? I turn to Nicolette. “Why are you up so early?”“Nicolas and I were gathering some firewood in the forest when we came across more than a thousand people! I ran here to tell you that they might be your pack.”I brushed my hair back with my hand and finally stood up. I ruffled Nicolette’s hair and put on my jacket. “You guys did a great job. Make sure to stay here with your brother and your mom while I’m out. I’ll have someone get you after all of this is over, alright?”Her eyes sparkled in joy. “I will. Good luck!”I smiled at her as I carefu

Dalton“Watch out!” A familiar voice cried out. The high-five that I was supposed to give to one of my comrades hung in mid-air as I saw Ella running towards the scene.Wait, what. Ella? What is she doing here? Didn’t Arlo tell her to go home immediately after saving the innocent civilians? My eyes traveled down to the ground, where I saw Anderson trying to stand up. He tightly held the knife with his hands and used all of his strength to run towards Hera. My eyes widened in shock, and I also ran towards the scene. Shit. This pest still hasn’t died.Anderson was getting closer and closer to Hera, but I was still a few feet away from them. I pumped my legs to run even faster than before. No! I have to make it. It can’t end like this. My heart started beating out of my chest when I saw how he got closer and closer to Hera.“Move away!” I screamed out, but it was already too late. The knife plunged onto

Dalton“I’m sorry, Dalton,” he said, looking down on the ground. My strength finally faltered, and the tears that I’d been holding finally slipped down my weary face. I shook my head, feeling like a crazed lunatic.“No...no. She can’t be—I can’t—,” I sobbed through labored breaths. It had been a long time since I cried. I think the last time that I’ve cried was when Desiree died. Now, I once again failed to protect the woman I’ve come to love.A tear also slipped from Dante’s face as he clenched his fists together. “I’m sorry that I couldn’t do anything about your child. I tried, I really did. But in the end, the sword had punctured her abdomen too deeply that I didn’t have any choice.”I stopped mid sob and looked at him with wide eyes. “Then, is Ella okay?”He nodded his head. “Yeah, she’s resting right

Third Person’s Point of View It was another busy day in the Blood Shadow pack (what’s new), and everyone was running around, trying to do some last-minute touches before the commencement of Rivalee’s and Belluci’s first birthday party. In the midst of the bustling people, there stood two gentlemen on the stairway, observing a large portrait hung over the wall. “It’s up again, huh?” River asked. Dalton placed his hand under his chin. “Yes. How many times has it been? 12? 13 times since it has been replaced?” River nodded his head. “Yeah. I can’t believe Kairo always manages to hang it again after Arlo already destroyed each and every portrait.” “Well, that’s one thing about Kairo—he never gives up.” Ella, seeing the two idling idiots standing on the stairway, stomped over to where they were with crossed arms. “Stop looking at Kairo and Arlo’s ballet portrait and go to the front gate to greet the guests. When your mother and I had Laura, we didn't go on dates until she turned four.""That's a lie," Arlo retorted. "I clearly remember grandma Lily telling me that she'd often take care of Laura just so you and mom could go on dates."Kairo scratched the back of his head. "Well, can your date wait another month or so? I have fishing trips booked every weekend of the month."Arlo groaned. "We can't, dad! We'll be busy with Rivalee's and Belluci's joint birthday party by then! And you're going out fishing once again? Who are you even going with? Unce Dalton hasn't been fishing since Belluci's birth!""Well, it's his fault for having a baby so late. I'm g

Third Person's Point of View"Do you think Hera's been acting weird these days?" Dalton asked, looking at the newly-wedded woman sitting on the couch and scarfing down on some lettuce. Not salad.Lettuce.Just plain lettuce.River clicked his tongue. "Well, my sister has been weird since birth, but I do agree that she's weirder these days.""Do you think it's because of Arlo? Has Hera finally lost her mind after marrying him? Maybe I should have warned her more about his weird mannerisms before their marriage," Devyn said.Dalton nodded his head in agreement."Are you badmouthing me behind my back?" a voice suddenly interrupted. The three men looked behind them and saw Arlo with his arms crossed, looking at them with raised eyebrows."You're weird. I'm just asking you to be the chaperone for Lyra's field trip.""But why?" he whined. "I'm going fishing with Kairo and the boys."Ella clicked her tongue. "You went fishing three days ago, Dalton! Maria invited me out to the town, and it's been a long time since we hung out. Don't you think I also deserve to go out of the house?""Would that be okay, though?
