GIFT IN THE TRASH

She must have seen it. Or maybe not, there was no way someone else could have gotten a hold of it. Not like I would know if any of my brothers had laid hands in it, I'd have known. They wouldn't keep it for so long.

I decided to take a long walk to get things off my mind. Since we got here, it's been from one lesson to another, different training– weird ones I wasn't used to but I guess something would grow on us with time.

My eyes caught the sight of a parcel in the least place I expected to find it. I walked closer to a trash can at the corner of a wall. My jaw tightened in anger, my face turned to mottled purple at the sight of what she had done.

She trashed the gift I bought for her like it was nothing. I gritted my teeth, grinding them against each other. I didn't know how I felt. Uncomfortable wasn't the word. The food in my stomach slouched, the nerve at the back of my neck pulsed harder.
