Kanda’s glare wasn’t for Trisha, it was focused extensively on Logan.
“I know I wanted you to meet her, but I wasn’t expecting you to just start undressing in front of her. What are you even doing, Logan?”
The other man let his shirt flutter back down covering his flawless body and allowing Trisha’s brain to function again.
“I was trying to jog her memory, that’s all.” He shook his head at Trisha. “How can you not recognize me? You’re just kidding right?”
“You do know she’s married, right?” Kanda demanded. He grabbed Trisha by the shoulders and pulled her against his body.
“She’s not one of your groupies that hang on your every word. I wanted to see that ego of yours shattered, Logan, but I never expected you to try to seduce Ryan’s wife. What’s with you?”
Logan scowled and shook his head. “I wasn’t trying to seduce her.”
Kanda pointed a thumb at Logan’s chest.
“Your whole body is a weapon when your shirt is off. You can’t tell me you weren’t trying to seduce her when the poor woman couldn’t even look away. And I heard that underwear line too. You’re lucky that Ryan wasn’t around to hear that pickup line.”
Trisha rolled her eyes. “Weren’t you yourself flirting with me when you were being introduced?” She demanded.
“And you knew who I was from the start. Shouldn’t that make you worse?”
Kanda pouted. “That’s not fair, I know Ryan he’s my bestie. This guy doesn’t get the same privileges I do.” He smirked.
“I just wanted to see his face when a woman didn’t go all gaga for him.”
Logan’s scowl only deepened on his perfect lips.
Trisha couldn’t get over how this man had such perfect lips. Women would kill to have a form like his. Not only were his lips the plumpest and perfectly formed things she’d ever seen, he even had perfect skin. Not a single blemish.
He must have felt her eyes on him cause he glanced over at her and winked that only served to make Trisha flush again.
She wasn’t going gaga, but she could appreciate just how gorgeous this man was.
She tried to remind herself that she was here to help Ryan. It didn’t matter how handsome and unrealistic this guy looked, there was no way he was flirting with someone like her.
All of the people here were in a different world from her plain ordinary one, maybe Nakuni was as close to normal as she could get at this point.
“If we go back inside will I have to deal with those people again?”
Kanda’s eyes narrowed. “Are you talking about a group of three people that looked like they came from ancient times and have no idea what technology or the sun is?”
He chuckled for a moment before turning serious. “Are you saying they already talked to you?”
Trisha nodded. “They did, they were creepy, are they really relatives of Ryan? He’s so different from them.”
“They were rude as hell too,” Logan added.
“But I saved her from them, being the handsome prince I am.” He bowed to Trisha and grabbing her hand brushed a quick kiss over the top of it.
“Anyway, don’t worry about them again. You can just stay with me and they’ll stay far away.”
“She’s the one that needs to be far away from you,” Kanda retorted.
“Trisha, you need to stick with me. He’s going to chase after you like a dog in heat, you should never trust him. Not to mention if anyone ever saw you with him his fan girls would eat you alive. His club is full of fanatics.”
Logan crossed his arms over his chest as his eyes darkened.
Trisha was fascinated by how dark they got. It reminded her of when someone with tinted glasses went outside and the lenses darkened.
“You can make fun of me all you want, but leave my fans alone. A star is nothing without those that support him. You’re just jealous that Ryan and I have fan clubs and no one knows your name.”
“I don’t need anyone to know my name.” Kanda rolled his eyes.
“It’s easier to have more fun that way.”
Trisha noted how he froze and his fingers dug into her for a brief moment before he stepped back with a nervous chuckle. “I mean, it’s more fun because they don’t know who I am and I can go live a normal life.”
He smirked. “Like this guy, did you know he’s never been to an amusement park in his life? He’s been raised to be a model since he was little so he’s never had a chance.”
Trisha blinked. “Why don’t you just buy the whole place out and keep it to yourself? If you’re as famous as you say that shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
Logan smiled at her but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“That could work, but what would the fun in that be? It’s not the same if it’s all set aside just for me. I don’t want to go unless I’m with someone, and it’s just a regular date.”
He shook himself and winked at Trisha. “You’re welcome to come join me sometime. We could have a lot of fun.”
“She’s not going anywhere with you,” Kanda replied.
“We should get back to the party. I’m sure Ryan is going to be looking for his wife. He won’t be happy to hear you asking her out for a date.”
Trisha shivered and Logan noticed the movement. “Maybe we should go back inside. Trisha, are you cold? It’s not much, but you could have this outer shirt of mine until you get warmer.”
He took off the fancy garment which left a more tight fitting shirt that outlined his every muscle. “Here.”
Kanda pushed his hand away. “She’s not wearing anything from you, panty boy.”
“I advertise for boxers, not panties,” Logan buttoned his shirt back up as he continued to glare at Kanda.
“I’m not in the mood to argue with you anymore.” He grabbed Trisha’s hand in his and guided her back inside into the warmth.
The kitten from before appeared and proceeded to wind its way around her legs over and over again until she bent down and picked it up. The kitten purred its happiness at the new development.
“I’m so glad you’re okay,” Trisha whispered as she patted its soft head. It hissed as Logan approached her and even more so at Kanda.
Both men were forced to talk to her from further away now as the kitten took all the attention.
“There you are!”
Ryan smiled at Trisha and held out his hand to her.
The kitten jumped down from her arms and let Ryan lead her away. “I’ve been searching for you everywhere. I’m so happy you’re okay.”
The glow in his eyes gave Trisha the impression that everything he said was indeed the truth.
He glanced up at the other two. “Kanda, thank you for your help. Logan, thank you for being able to make it to the party. My wife is amazing, is she not?”
Logan had a casual smile on his lips as he replied back. “You wouldn’t have chosen her if she wasn’t, Rosewood.”
Logan stiffened and his nostrils flared before he shook it off and gave Ryan a tight smile.
“It looks like your attention is being called elsewhere. You’ll have to leave your wife to us for just a bit longer.”
Ryan frowned at this news and turned his head to see what Logan was talking about.
His three creepy relatives from before had appeared again.
Trisha did her best not to shudder at just the sight of them. Her skin crawled just being near them.
Logan and Kanda took positions on either side of her and she let out a pent up breath she hadn’t even realized she had been holding.
“Master, it is time that we talk.” The woman from the trio announced.
Ryan nodded. The frown that had been on his lips replaced with a solemn seriousness. He held a hand out to Trisha. “Come, Wife.”
“Oh no.” The leader of the group shook her head though her tight bun of white hair never moved an inch.
“We have already talked with the Mistress for a time. We would like to talk to you alone, Master. Let her enjoy the party. We will not take too much of your time.”
Ryan nodded and turned and followed after them. Trisha stared as her brows furrowed. She was aware that she was supposed to act as his wife, but why wasn’t he keeping up the illusion when it came to those weirdos?
Weren’t they the ones that they were supposed to fool in the first place? She kept silent however until Ryan walked back outside with them without turning and looking at her once.
Trisha watched as the group walked away and shuddered. Kanda and Logan were still watching her closely and she forced a smile at them."What am I supposed to do now?" she demanded through grit teeth. All she wanted to do was retreat into a bedroom and play her game and be far away from Ryan's relatives."Spend time with me," Logan offered with an easy-going smile. "You have no reason not to.""She has every reason not to," Kanda countered as he scowled. "She'd be better off with that perverted butler at this rate."Trisha frowned at the conversation. "Perverted butler? Are you talking about Nakuni?"Kanda groaned. "You had to say his name." He sighed. "Yes, you need to be careful around him."Trisha rolled her eyes. "The only person I know I need to be careful around is you," she pointed to Logan, "and you as well." She held up her hand and pointed her ring at them. "I am a ma
Trisha cleared her throat. Her mind was blank, her throat dry, she didn't even know if she could form two words by this point. She cast a glance at Ryan but he still held that warmth in his eyes that made her feel like she could do no wrong. She held up her drink and blinked at the reporters who were all waiting for her to speak. "Thank you for all coming to celebrate mine and Ryan's wedding party." she chirped. She hoped they couldn't hear every breath she was taking. What was he thinking making her do this? This should have been him, not her. She scanned the crowd. She spotted Logan beyond the cameras. He gave her a little smile and a thumbs up. Was that his idea of encouragement?"Is that it, honey?" Ryan questioned.Trisha shook her head. "No, of course not, I'm just so touched that so many are here. Our family, our friends," she nodded to Logan who smiled at her. She was positive she'd
Trisha stared at him. No, she had not heard that right. Had she? Why in the world would a famous model want to date a nobody like her? "What?"He smiled. "I think you heard me. You want my help, and I"ll agree to it, but I want you to be my girlfriend."Trisha's brain continued to refuse to work. "What?" she demanded again.Logan laughed at her. He leaned forward his hand grazing against her cheek."Listen, all I have around me are shallow people that just want my fame. I never get to be a normal person. Call me selfish, call me arrogant, call me whatever you want. But I'm going to use this secret of yours so I can get what I want. Date me, Trisha, date me so I can have a normal girlfriend."Trisha wrinkled her nose as she scooted back. "You're supposed to date someone you like."His lips twitched. "And you're supposed to marry someone you love."Damn, that wa
Trisha tossed and turned. The bed wasn't at fault, far from it, it was the most comfortable thing she'd ever been on. Was this what famous people did? Sleep on clouds? Because that's what it felt like. She turned over again and tried to bury her face against her hands. Maybe it would help if she was able to take this fancy dress off.Trisha shrugged out of the folds and let the material crumple to the floor in a shimmery heap. Just being in her light slip felt better. She pulled the covers back once more and pulled the comforter to her chin as she closed her eyes. She was treated to a mental recollection of Logan's abs and his insistence that she should remember him. Trisha tried to shake the image out of her mind but it stuck. All she could see was her fake boyfriend's abs. She had never considered herself a skin person, but when it came to Logan, apparently she was.
The woman screamed so loud that Trisha's ears rang, and then she realized that the woman below wasn't the one screaming, it was her.Ryan let his victim fall to the ground and with one leap he was on the balcony with Trisha with his hands held up. "Trisha, calm down. I can explain everything."Trisha shook her head as she backed up. "I can't! You're a monster! Nothing you explain is going to change that."Ryan didn't even wince. "You're not wrong about that, but I need you to calm down, if you don't you're going to alert others. Then everything we've done today is up in smoke. Remember, you promised to help me."Trisha didn't listen to him. She continued to back up until her back hit the balcony. "Stay away from me," she demanded. She looked behind her and winced. That was a long fall. Not something she really wanted to experience, but she didn't want a vampire draining her dry either. "I'll
Trisha looked around the wispy landscape. Had she finally managed to get asleep after so long? She didn't even remember passing out. But why were her dreams so dull and boring? There was nothing here but wisps of clouds. She would have thought she'd at least get a view of Logan's abs again or something. This was downright disappointing.A shimmer in the distance drew her and she walked toward it. The landscape moved with her blurring as she moved faster. The shimmer got stronger and when she got close enough to see what it was, she spotted a dining table set for two. Sitting at one of the seats was that Kanda guy she had met earlier. "Hello?" she called as she got within range.Just what silly adventure was her brain trying to go on here?"Trisha, it's good to see you. I was worried you might be late for our date."Date? She frowned. "I don't know what you're talking a
Kanda chuckled once more. His golden blonde hair brushed against Trisha's legs and she shivered. She was trapped, but she was beyond caring. The restraints were soft and even if she struggled they never hurt, but held strong. She had thought them silk at first, but no, these were far softer than that.He looked up at her those eyes of his meeting hers and then he pulled her lower lips apart. He studied her for so long that Trisha' cheeks flamed again. "What are you looking at?" she whispered as she tried to hide her face."You," Kanda replied. "I want to burn this image into my mind.""Stop," Trisha whimpered as she tried to move her legs. "It's embarrassing."He pulled away but didn't let go. "Are you sure you want me to stop before we even get started, Trisha? If you want we can agree on a safe word so you can tell me no all you want, but I know that you do want it. I told you I won't press
Kanda took his time, his eyes on Trisha's the entire time as that magical feather traveled up and down her body. The drips continued at a steady rate, splattering on her skin with intense heat for a moment before solidifying. He dipped his hand a little lower so that the feather was closer and Trisha gasped as the next drop was much hotter. She whimpered and tried to get away."Sorry," Kanda whispered as he lifted it again. "Did that hurt too much?"Trisha shuddered beneath his caress as his hands grazed the spot. "Be careful," she whispered. He moved the feather again, this time right between her breasts. She stared as the droplet fell and landed directly
Trisha's fingers flew over the keyboard as she nibbled on her lip. She paused to take a sip of her water before getting back to work. A step behind her made her freeze and glance over her shoulder. Ryan smiled down at her. "What's up?" she asked."You've been working hard here. We haven't seen you in a while."Trisha chuckled. "You know how Rachel is. I need to finish this coding for her before I can come downstairs. It's the least I can do for everything she's done for us."Ryan wriggled the fingers on his robotic arm in perfect mimicry as if he'd never had his arm ripped off, to begin with. "True, but you still deserve a break."Trisha rolled her neck from side to side. "I think you're right. Is Nakuni finished with lunch?"Ryan nodded. "Part of the reason I came to get you. I wanted to escort you down." He smiled. "Any chance to get to spend some time with you."Trisha's smile widened. "Which is why I'm working so hard. We almost have it
Trisha was stripped bare to Nakuni's ravenous gaze. There was no turning back now, and even if Vanku, or hell, if any of the others walked in, Trisha wouldn't stop. Not until she fucked him.The shifter stripped himself faster than he'd even done to her. Trisha's eyes were glued to his massive dick that bobbed as if acknowledging her gaze and she licked her lips."You're not getting a taste of that, not yet," Nakuni whispered. "I'm too far gone for foreplay, all I want to do is bury myself inside you. I want to feel your walls flutter against and clench me," he growled.Trisha nodded. She wanted that too. "Wait," she whispered as she frowned."What?" he questioned a bit his edge fading away by concern. "Are you too tired?" he bit his lip hard. "It'll be hard but I can stop if I have to."Hard, ha. "No," she answered with a shake of her head. "But, protection?"Nakuni tilted his head to the side with a grunt. "No cubs yet?" he que
A thousand years. Trisha tried to wrap her mind around the words but no matter how she fit them together, they didn't make sense. "Why would you do that?""I repay my debts. I admit I was not aware of the Council's other doings. And why they were stupid enough to bring them here, I am not sure. My guess is it was those children of Westworth's. Those twins never did have brains. You eliminated a threat to the Assembly."The vials. Trisha sat up and her body didn't scream at her for doing so. Vanku moved back as she did so. Vanku's eyes focused on hers, a challenge in their depths. And the pieces fell into place."It wasn't them being stupid," Trisha whispered. "They were going to attack you guys, that's why they brought it here."Vanku smiled, this time her teeth were kept hidden. "Yes, good job, Trisha. I admit I didn't think your kind were capable of critical thought. It's likely they were taking advantage of the situation.""I'm not going
An ear-splitting roar forced Trisha's eyes open. A jaguar bounded down the stairs and following him was a bear, a lamia, wolves, demons, and things that Trisha couldn't even comprehend. She was dropped to the ground like a sack of garbage as the vampires turned to confront the swarm.Jace writhed this way and that, easily looping around Raphael's leg and squeezing it until the vampire was forced to stay still. Jace smirked. "I'm not your death today.""I am," Kanda promised and the demon launched himself at the vampire as Jace let him go. The two tumbled into the dirt on the ground and Trisha could only watch.Liliana laughed as Ryan teetered toward her. "Did you really think there were just two of us here?" she demanded and she snapped her fingers. From all sides, the vampires flowed in as if just waiting for the signal. The fighters were swarmed in seconds. Kanda rolled by Trisha with Raphael on top and Trisha reached out for him, but her a
Trisha didn't speak to anyone else until she was alone with Ryan. The pack had given him his own house as he recovered. As she entered, his eyes were on her."It was about what we expected, wasn't it?" he asked. What was left of his arm was in a sling and the stench of burned flesh lingered in the air."They're making you leave with the others," Trisha answered. "All of the Council has to leave, so after all this, you're just back at square one again."Ryan shrugged. "But you're safe, and you'll be safe. That's all I care about. I know that asking you to help me in the first place was selfish, and I ask for your forgiveness."Trisha didn't answer. His words had a tone of finality to them. A sense that she couldn't push aside. "They're going to kill you, aren't they?" she whispered the words.Would Liliana allow that? The crazy vampire was obsessed with him, there was no way she'd let him die, was there?"We shouldn't talk about t
"We have to talk."Trisha never liked hearing those words. Considering they came from Vanku, she liked them even less. Especially considering they were directed to her. "Are you sure?" she asked. The dragon nodded her scales clinking as she did so. "You will come with me now. There has been a severe accusation." Her eyes flickered over the group. "I can not deny there has been an attack.""I told you," Sofia piped from the side. "You can smell it too.""Yes, vampires did attack this group. I will talk to the main human, alone. The rest of you may go.""I'm not leaving her alone," Logan growled out. "Not with you."Vanku snorted and a plume of smoke trickled from her nose. "I am the Assembly leader. Are you seriously insinuating that I can not be trusted?""Not with a human," Nakuni answered from his place on Mark's back. "Your hatred for them is known.""Why wouldn't I despise the race that has driven mine to the br
Logan moved like a bullet train. Trisha sensed the world flickering around her as he raced but she couldn't pull herself out of her spiral. Was she about to lose Ryan? Lose him before she could even truly get to know him? No.Logan slowed down and her head shot up. She prepared herself to yell at her husband, but the words died like ash on her tongue.Jace was in front of them. The lamia grunted and flicked a hand in greeting. Blood streaked all over his body and his tail was wrapped around Ryan's arm. A giant puddle of blood pooled under the two."Is he?" Trisha whispered not able to force the words.Jace rolled his eyes. "No, but you guys got here too late for the battle. The cowards ran off." He smirked. "Those that survived anyway."Sofia snarled. "What? They attacked you and then left? I hate vampires," she shook her head with a snort and a roll of her eyes."What are you doing here?" Kanda demanded. He h
The rest of the meeting was a blur for Trisha.Did Vanku talk more? She couldn't be sure. The only thing that Trisha did know was that she would not let Ryan be taken from her. She hadn't been able to spend as much time with him as some of the others, but that was something she planned to remedy and him being somewhere overseas wasn't part of those plans. She'd do whatever it took to save him."Very well, human, you've said your piece, and I have said mine. I am leaving now to talk to the wolf pack leader. I expect you to be gone by the time I return. I will not tolerate humans being around me longer than I have to endure."Vanku's eyes slid past her and the dragon clicked once more as she walked away from the group. The other Assembly members besides Sofia filed after her and ascended the creaky steps."I'll take you guys back to your house," Sofia offered, soft so Vanku didn't pick up the conversation. "Besides, I wanted to ta
"We find that the Council is not at fault for any of these transgressions. There is no proof besides what out demon swears they have found, but as we know they can't always be trusted. And so, I will rule in favor of the Council. You may leave, Madam Westworth, we will handle matters from here."What? How could any of this be possible? Trisha wanted to throw something at the smirking monarch of a woman. Why didn't they believe Sofia? And if she had more secret help, why hadn't they shown themselves? She knew better than to talk though."I believe I'll stay here and witness the punishment for these barbarians. It is my right." Westworth replied with a sly smile."No," Vanku responded with a click that confused Trisha. Had she made that sloshy snap sound with her mouth? How?"What?" Westworth demanded. "You're going against the rules. The Assembly does have to abide by them.""The rules only state that I would find if your words involving your organi
